  1. This year there's certainly more coming to the Switch i'm interested in over the PS4.

    Pre-ordered (Physical)

    • Link's Awakening
    • Luigi's Mansion 3
    • Pokemon Sword/Shield (not decided which one to stick with)

    Going to get digitally

    • Ori and the Blind Forest
    • Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair

    Considering

    • A Hat in Time

Shovel Knight is a cert, but as that's coming as an update for me, it's not on the list.  If Silksong comes this year, i'll certainly get that as well.

I look at some people's lists, and i do wonder how you'll find the time for all that.  I know Hero-of-Time seemingly has infinite time (i swear he's got a time machine or something), but respect if you can find the time.

  2. I re-bought Yooka Laylee on the Switch (well, won a £20 eshop card and it was on sale), considering getting this on the Switch to go alongside it.  So far, it looks good and much better than the first.  They have said that this style would suit the game better.

  3. I've been playing on/off the past week or so, first time in nearly a year.  Light level is high enough for raids/nightfalls etc, seems Bungie were right in making it easier to level up light quicker for low light players.

I'm up for some raids, probably do a couple over the bank holiday weekend.  Can do some in the week as well, work permitting.  Never done any of the raids since getting Destiny 2, so i would be a complete novice on them.

  4. The Mummy (2017)

Kind of encouraged to watch it by my partner, so i did.  I kept comparing it to the 1999 Brendan Fraser classic remake of the original 1932 movie, because the Tom Cruise reboot wasn't much good.  Too many holes, the Mummy itself of Princess Ahmenet wasn't very powerful compared to Imohtep.

    Spoiler

You probably couldn't handcuff Imohtep to hold him prisoner, or use sleeping darts to subdue him.  But somehow it was still possible to do so with Ahmenet, who was meant to have similar powers to Set.  I get the Mercury as a way to prevent Ahmenet escaping as she'd be alive still in the casket, but even those without air would eventually die (Imohtep had to be ressurected with the Book of the Dead, couldn't help but notice Ahmenet was able to possess people whilst locked in a coffin.

Yeah, probably won't watch it again.  To me, this was worse than the 3rd Mummy movie (also starring Brendan Fraser).

  5. Can you use any stylus on Switch, or does it have to be an official one.

Edit: Had a look, most rubber tipped ones you can use with mobile and tablets should work, so ordered one for later

Been playing the level creator for a few hours, already made 1 level that's impossible to beat (for me).  Too many Bowsers and Squids.

I'm pretty sure we're all seeing different videos in @Jimbob's post based on our Youtube watch history, must be some error with either forum embedding or on Youtube's end.

I see a cover version of Massive Attack's "Teardrop".

Maybe this is the joke, that we all see something else.

Weird, no idea what went wrong with the embed.  Especially as everyone saw something different.

  7. The GameCube was the last console i had bought for me (well, partially as i had money from my first paypacket and they topped it up).  Got the console around my birthday from Virgin Megastores, they had an offer on where i got the console, memory card and 2 games for about £200(ish).  Was the perfect console, and the one machine that i played consistently (well, as much as i could outside of college and work).

Then the GBA/GC adapter came about, and that meant big-screen Gameboy games.  Playing A Link to the Past and Minish Cap on the big screen was great, especially as batteries were not needed.

It's a shame that Nintendo didn't carry on with the online play until the Wii days.  Smash Melee and Mario Kart could have been epic online.

  8. Enough is enough, 3 times it's gone to MP's and 3 times it's been rejected.

MP's don't want a No Deal, they don't want her deal.  They don't want to give us a 2nd vote, they don't want to revoke Article 50.  Just what do they want, maybe it's about time they listened to the people again.  But they made it clear they don't want to do that either.

So after the indicative votes we now know that there’s:

    No majority for May’s deal.

No majority for a customs union.

No majority for a 2nd referendum.

No majority for revoking Article 50.

    No majority for no deal.

A General selection is looming more than ever. A change in Parliament may give a majority for one of the above and seems to be one of the only ways to resolve Brexit now.

So MP's can't decide what they want

Just bring it to the people, who are speaking quite loud and clear at present.  Then once that's done, call a General Election.

  10. The way Sony and Microsoft have handled their more powerful PS4's and Xbox One machines, everything worked on any PS4/Xbox One right down to accessories.  So it didn't matter which version of those machines you got, everything worked.  Games were more optimized for the more powerful machines, but they worked on the lower tier models.  Which is perfectly fine and it won't alienate the install base.

However, they did replace the OG models with the Slim and S respectively, so i'm expecting the Switch mini to replace the current Switch.

Maybe a lot of 3rd party accessories won't work on the new Switch models at the start, but i'm almost guaranteeing that 1st party stuff will work no problem.  So Joy-cons, Pro Controllers, Docks and the GC adaptor will be fine.  I'm guessing they'll provide iterations or updates to allow the 2nd and 3rd party accessories to work.

  11. As long as all current and future Switch games work on all models of the Switch, i can't see an issue.  It does sound like it will, so that's a good thing.

Making a Switch-lite and a Pro model, and discontinuing the current Switch is the most logical way forward.  keeping the current model about will just confuse things.
