  1. Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!

I hope to get a review copy of it - otherwise I'll probably not get it at launch but later down the line.
  2. Indie Games

    Moonlighter is out today
  3. Pokémon Go! (Android/iOS)

Ah, I had PoGo running in the background. However, I don't find Google Fit quite accurate when biking. May try it again at some point.
  4. Pokémon Go! (Android/iOS)

I think Adventure Sync is available to all now. Tried it out today and while it's nice to get some distance without having the app open, it's definitely not as accurate as it doesn't update the GPS as frequently as Pokémon Go itself. That means I missed about 400 meters of 1.2 km as it just measured the distance as the crow flies (is that the correct bird in English or is that just from Game of Thrones?). So will probably keep PoGo open in my pocket instead.
  5. Switch eShop Thread

I'm at about 22 % through the game (2.5 hours) and it's for the most part just got worse. But I've seen some reviews, and most mention that it has some frustrating moment but they still say it's a good game. I just feel like it's not a good design and I had hoped for a casual platformer as well. I find that most frustrations would be gone if Tako could just take a couple of hits before dying.
  6. Switch eShop Thread

I'm playing through Save me mr. Tako now - anybody tried it? It's a tribute to the GameBoy era, a good tribute. However, the game is frustratingly hard but not because of clever challenges but rather because you die from one hit and there are no powerups in the levels at all. You can get a hat (that gives you some ability) that allows you to be hit twice before you die but once you lose it, you have to exit the level to get it back. This is a bad mechanic and makes the game harder than it should be. Also, enemies just appear from the right and surprise you, or they can haunt and target you in small places where you can't really avoid them. I'm just not enjoying the game at all and just want to know if anyone has tried it and feels the same? It's a shame because it looks and plays like a GameBoy game (more specifically, a hard Kirby game!) but the gameplay just isn't there and I don't know if it's intentional or just bad design.
  7. Super Smash Bros. 3DS / Wii U

Never put much time into the 3DS version myself, mainly because I couldn't really put the effort into it with the controls. They hindered my enjoyment in the game, my hands cramped and the control stick just didn't do it for me.
  8. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

I've booked some vacation with December 7th being the last day so will also be off when this hits. That's awesome. Also had the day off when Smash 4 hit.
  9. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

A week off for Pokémon Let's Go? I don't think that game is going to last that long.
  10. Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!

My first thought as well but it's possible to do it without doing the motion. https://www.vgr.com/heres-how-to-catch-pokemon-in-lets-go-pikachu-and-eevee-without-motion-controls/ https://nordic.ign.com/switch/19250/news/pokemon-lets-go-works-without-motion-controls-but-theres-a-c https://gadgets.ndtv.com/games/news/pokemon-lets-go-pikachu-and-eevee-for-nintendo-switch-dont-use-motion-controls-in-handheld-mode-nint-1923684 So it seems that they reverted the decision that you have to use motion controls. It's just better to do so. I'm really excited to hear about how this game plays in handheld mode.
  11. Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!

The game(s) won't support Pro Controllers, by the way. Weird choice.
  12. Pokémon Go! (Android/iOS)

Attended a Raid for Giratina yesterday and got it on my second-to-last ball. Phew. It was at an Ex Raid Gym so I hope I get a pass for the next Ex Raid - however, they tend to be on work days around noon so I won't get my hopes up for being able to attend.
  13. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

I regret getting Mario Kart physically so going digital with Smash for sure. Also preordering it.
  14. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

English trailer So.. the Event-like battles from Spirits are the stages of this World of Light adventure mode?
  15. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

So.. Piranha Plant is post-launch characeter - but is it one of the five confirmed DLC packs?
  16. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

I hate that they alter the stats of the characters. But that's just me, in Mario Kart 8 I play standard kart because that's how everyone is equal. So I won't use it - however, I like the Event battles so will definitely spend time on that. Also "That's all the characters" in the beginning? I want to see it before I believe it.
  17. N64 as playable character in Smash!? Though N64 as assist trophy could be fun somehow...
  18. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

I can't imagine what they want to show for 40 minutes but then again, the last Direct was rather long as well and that was action packed and great!
  19. Netflix

He seems a bit younger than the Gerald from the series but other than that, looks good. I watched the first episode of Sabrina yesterday. Enjoyed it but yeah, it's not perfect. I think the show seems a bit long for the story but maybe it's warranted in the end.
  20. Diablo III coming to Switch in 2018

Embargo has lifted and reviews are out. I gave the game 5/5 with my points being: It's a great port with no frame drops, clean graphics and an addictive gameplay. Local multiplayer is great. My negative points are that the game can get a bit repetitive in the long run, the story is just there with no real impact, and the game drains the battery rather fast, after playing two hours my Switch had 1/5-1/3 battery left. But nothing serious. It's a great port of a really good game.
  21. Pokémon Go! (Android/iOS)

Got Spiritomb tonight so that's that Special Research. This was quite the chore, feeding 108 berries to Pokémon was a bit much and catching 108 Pokémon afterwards also dragged a bit on. But it was nice to have something to do in the game. Also finally passed 100 Candy for my Shelgon. Funny story, I've been walking with that Pokémon for the past month or so, slowly earning Candg and feeding it Rare Candy, so today I only needed 200 meters to get the 100th Candy - then a 10 km egg hatched and a Bagon appeared...! So now I went from 99 to 117 Candy so at least I have a few Candy for powering it up now. Now for getting the evolutions of Lotad and find more Shinx raids.
  22. Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu!

Hard to say precisely at this point. But having played PoGo will at least give you an idea of the catching mechanics of Let's Go, and the benefit of having played more than enough PoGo is that you can transfer your Pokémon to Let's Go, giving you the chance to get a strong Dragonite in Let's Go. Also, you can only evolve the new Pokémon Meltan through Pokémon Go. Aside from that, though, it's not a requirement to enjoy Let's Go, I believe.
  23. Netflix

    Anyone seen Sabrina yet?
  24. Pokémon Go! (Android/iOS)

Done with the berries! Phew. Now for finding 8 stops I've never visited. Fairly easy as I live in a big city but will still have to go to some new places.
  25. Pokémon Go! (Android/iOS)

I don't use those apps but might start to if that means that I can avoid having PoGo open and consume my battery. On another note, 89 berries fed, 19 to go! Then I just have to catch 108 Pokémon but that's easier as PokéBalls are literally everywhere, unlike berries.
