  1. Revolution Videos On April 20th?!?!

Even if we do see anything on the 20th I don't think there's any chance of seeing anything from Nintendo till E3. Will be nice to see some more third party stuff though to get an impression of what Revo games look like, a few grainy scans is not the greatest indicator. Even if nothing does get revealed, we don't have to wait all that long until E3 so its all good.
  2. Pikmin 2 is however quite hard to get hold of in most shops and when you do it usually costs around £30 brand new - I already owned a copy so I put mine up on ebay and got £28 for it. Sorry to hear about the problem with having two subscriptions - I had a similar problem, they had two different webpages where you could subscribe and I subscribed on the first one and the free game choice never came up. I then found the other page (On the ONM site, not the Future site) and subscribed there, so I emailed them to cancel my first subscription and forunately it all worked out Still Pikmin 2 for £10 is a bargain cos you can always cash in on it for about 3 times that, or of course if you wanted the game then you can keep it and enjoy a gamecube classic.
  3. Favourite...Chocolate Bar!

No Cadburys thought it would be a great idea to turn Wispa and Caramel into part of the Dairy Milk brand - So they became Dairy Milk with Bubbles and Dairy Milk with Caramel respectively. Dairy Milk with Caramel are just as nice as the original but Dairy Milk with Bubbles are crap compared to Wispas and it also meant the death of Wispa Gold, Wispa Mint and Wispa Capuccino which have to be amongst the most gorgeous chocolate bars ever. To be honest I'm more of a sweetie fan than a chocolate one but at the moment I'm quite fond of white twix's.
  4. IGN: Revolution Horsepower

Conversely my Gamestaton has a 360 pod running on a normal TV playing PGR3, looks bland and drab and all the textures are blurry. Kameo and Call of Duty 2 both fair better but still look like last generation games. Revolution games will look nicer and frankly I don't think the average consumer is going to go "OMFG the graphics are poo" if they get their hands on the controller - Imagine they pick up the 360 pad and play Call of Duty with the pad, standard dual analogue set-up, then they go over and pick up the Freehand controller and stand pointing the controller at what they want to shoot and getting really into it. I think then it will be the 360 version that seems under-par in comparison. Consumers won't be put off having a go on the demo pod just because the graphics aren't as impressive, the way it works is that people see a games console in the shop and have a go regardless.
  5. IGN: Revolution Horsepower

The lack of HD with the Rev doesn't concern me, nor does the lack of horse power compared to the 360/PS3. The fact is that games will all look better than the very best looking Xbox/Cube/PS2 games, roughly twice as good - Regardless of whether they don't look as good as 360/PS3 games they will still look stunning - Twice as good as Rogue Leader/Twilight Princess/Resident Evil 4? Bloody hell, games will look gorgeous. I do not own a HD TV yet and currently have no plans to get one in the near future, I don't have Sky so I won't be able to get HD Broadcasts for a few years and at this moment in time I'm not interested in a 360/PS3 - I expect I will get one eventually but I'm talking two or three years from now when they both have good software libraries and a cheaper shelf price, at the moment there are only a handful of games on each system which interest me - In three or even two years time I will be able to get a much better idea of which systems software library interests me most, not only that but I will have a HD TV - Revolution I see as an independent system, I don't see it as a "Revolution/360/PS3" choice, I see it more as a "Revolution and 360/PS3" choice. As Schpickles says, games may not look as good or be of the same scale as 360/PS3 games but they will still look great and be considerably cheaper and easier for developers to make as well. I can't wait.
  6. News on the Nintendo _______

To be perfectly honest it doesn't matter whether Big Tac is genuine or not. The guy is completely harmless and his posts always lead to interesting discussion and speculation. If people want to take what he says to be 100% genuine then thats fine, if people think everything he says is rubbish then thats fine but there's absolutely no need to start insulting him and slagging everybody off who does believe him.
  7. Rare Games Absent from Virtual Console!

I'm not surprised at all - Rare own the licenses to Banjo, JFG, Battleloads, Perfect Dark, Killer Instinct, Conker etc. and as I understand it would be easy for them to be ported over to Xbox Live Arcade so why would Microsoft give up a potential crown jewel? It was never going to happen. We will still see the Rare games that Nintendo developed which include the brilliant DK Country Series (and DK64 and Diddy Kong Racing - Which I thought were crap but I know many people loved) so its not all bad.
  8. News on the Nintendo _______

I'm prepared to wait only because I have a daft amount of games to play through and it'll give me a better chance to finish them off Can't wait though, my N64, SNES and NES have all re-emereged under my TV in anticipation
  9. News on the Nintendo _______

I think we'll see a similar price-point for games, accesories and hardware with Revolution to that of Gamecube - £150 at launch, games costing £30-40 (online-offline) etc. What Big Tac says about different price-points, its only what Nintendo have done with the DS (in the US/Japan anyway) with some titles launching at lower price-points such as Brain Training although as usual we'll probably get the raw end of the deal. As for the UK release, I'm hopeful of December and it would be sensible for nintendo to push it at christmas but if it meant it being easier to get hold of a unit at launch and more launch titles then I'd happily wait till March - I'd just like to know in plenty of time, the way we were messed around with the cube launch date was shocking.
  10. Your GameCube collections

    1. Animal Crossing. 2. Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat 3. Eternal darkness 4. Luigi's Mansion 5. Mario Kart: Double Dash 6. Mario Power Tennis 7. Paper Mario 2 8. Pikmin 9. Pikmin 2 10. Resident Evil Zero 11. Resident Evil 12. Sonic Mega Collection 13. Soul Calibur 2 14. Super Mario Sunshine 15. Super Monkey Ball 16. Super Monkey Ball 2 17. Super Smash Bros Melee 18. Starfox Adventures 19. Star Wars: Rogue Leader 20. Star Wars: Rebel Strike 21. The Legend of Zelda: Collectors Edition 22. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker I have also owned... Ikaruga, FF: Crystal Chronicles, Sonic Gems, Skies of Arcadia: Legends, Wario World, Mario Party 4 Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Timesplitters 2, James Bond: Nightfire, Agent Under Fire and a handful of Fifa games - Most of which I'm not bothered I got rid of. Agent Under Fire & SA2: Battle were early titles to tide me over till the good stuff and though they were enjoyable at the time I didn't want to go back to them. Timesplitters 2, Ikaruga and Mario Party 4 were just games I never really got into, they got good reviews (well, Mario Party 4's were fairly average but other than that...) but they just weren't my cup of tea for various reasons and I never got going with them. Crystal Chronicles was ok but it didn't have much direction and I didn't play multiplayer enough to warrant hanging on to it. Nightfire was just absolute crap, just not fun at all whilst the Fifa's were entertaining for a while but soon lost their appeal. Sonic Gems was the same, I love Mega Collection but this was quite a poor compilation in comparison and not worth hanging onto. I would however like to track down Skies of Arcadia: Legends and Wario World again for a reasonable price as they're both good games There were a few others as well that I had that I own on a different system now - For example I had Resi 4 but I sold it and then when I bought a PS2 I rebought it so I could play Seperate Ways, the graphics and controls aren't quite as good but they're still brilliant and Seperate Ways is worth it. I also had Viewtiful Joe which I paid £20 for on Cube, had a laugh with but got bored of and sold - Then when I'd just got my PS2 I wanted something cheap and fun to occupy and saw VJ for £5 (Which I later sold on for the same price). Other games that I would have bought for my Cube I got the other system versions of because they were cheaper (e.g Resi 2/3/CV X - Cost me £10 for the lot on PS2, cheapest I could find the lot for on Cube was upwards of £40) I imagine it'll be a while before I get all the cube games I want - There's still around a dozen or so I'd like but there's no rush, I'm just holding out for the inevitable coming down in price of games as shops clear out their shelves. I remember when that happened with the N64, I got so many classics each for a few quid each. Good times
  11. Majora's Mask

I hated Majora's Mask - The save system drove me up the wall
  12. GDC 2006

Its supposed to be an hour long so given the delay I'd say it'll finish at around 7:45 UK Time that it finishes and I expect if we're to see anything on revo it'll be the last thing to come on.
  13. Nintendo Revo= Nintendo GO?

I'm happy with go as the name for Nintendo's Online service (Nintendo Go, Xbox Live - Fair Do's) but as the system name they could make a total mess of things, they have the potential to create a new image for themselves with this system but calling it "Go" isn't going to do that, they may as well just call it the "Nintendo Happy Happy Fun Box" and get it over with. We should find out in the next couple of hours, I hope. To be perfectly honest I'd rather bring the name Nintendo On back
  14. Nintendo Revo= Nintendo GO?

Just a thought from looking at the image again, if this was taken at GDC then why is all the text on the right in Japanese even though the show is in San Jose in California? I could understand it having some Japanese text as Nintendo are a Japanese company but there would surely be plenty of English too? I smell a fake (I hope )
  15. Nintendo Revo= Nintendo GO?

Oh dear god I hope not. I do think the final name is the one big announcement we will see at GDC so hopefully we will have confirmation of whether this is the real name or not by the end of the day.
  16. For me personally its between Gamecube and the original Game Boy, probably Gamecube though really. Gamecube was the first system I actually bought at launch and got myself hyped up for, I spent ages saving and agonising over European launch delays and what to get and the day I picked it up was a great one. I got similarly hyped over the GBA launch but I'd say despite some good games my GBA has probably been a bit of a disappointment overall, my memories aren't as fond as those of my original game boy. Not only do I remember being hyped for the system but I've also thoroughly enjoyed the games on it. A lot of the games were improvements of games I had on 64 (Such as Smash Bros) and the likes of Luigi's Mansion, Wind Waker, Mario Sunshine and Animal Crossing were amazing when I got them and I had so much fun playing them and the likes of Resident Evil (4 in particular) and Eternal Darkness were great experiences. Mario Kart: DD and Mario Tennis took a lot of stick but I thoroughly enjoyed them in multiplayer even if Single Player wasn't as addictive as the 64 version. The N64 I enjoyed but I got towards the end of its lifespan when some of the games were beginning to show their age and though I had some great experiences with the system and it has some incredible games (Mario Tennis, Paper Mario and Goldeneye being my favourites) I think overall I've had the most fun with my Gamecube though. I really enjoyed the original Game Boy when I got it after having saved pocket money for ages, got the double pack with a grey brick, case and mario land 1/2. Didn't like Mario Land 1 that much at the time (too hard) but I loved the second one and Kirby's Dreamland when I got it and the Pokemon games sucked me in like very few games have. It definitley comes close to the Gamecube but I think multiplayer smash bros makes the Gamecube my winner. As for the SNES/NES - I own both but I got them a few years ago and have slowly accquired games for them over time but I never experienced the consoles at their peak and am largely buying games on reputation rather than games based on what I've read about and am interested in when they come out. I can't really judge them because of that. Far too early to say with DS but other than Touched I've been very underwhelmed so far.
  17. GDC 2006

Yeah I think we're probably gonna have to hold on till E3 for the final secret - I'm betting that, the virtual console games and pricing, system pricing, exact launch dates and all actual game announcement and footage to take place at E3. The real meaty stuff.
  18. GDC 2006

I'd like to see... Final Specifications (Not the actual power of the system but how much flash memory there is, how many usb's, what picture output it will support etc. - If there are any changes to what we've already been told) Final Design and announcement on what colours will be available. Final Name for the system. Controller Shell. How many games will be available for launch, and how many are currently in development. What the final secret is. A confirmation that the system will launch worldwide in 2006. However, I don't expect most of that till E3. I do think we will hear some new stuff but I'm not counting on it, don't want to be disappointed.
  19. Revolution Design Picture

I think the final sensor will probably be smaller and I expect it to tie in with the Revolutions design more closely, even if that were the final design I wouldn't really have any complaints though as it should be fairly unobtrusive infront of the TV. This was also posted - Its pretty damn tiny.
  20. Analyst Predicts Nintendo 2nd Place

I think Revolution will be everyones second choice, 360 and PS3 do the same thing and look like having very few exclusives - The choice of system will largely come down to which proves a more popular replacement DVD format (Blue Ray or HD) and which has the best exclusives. I don't think many people will get both, Revo is a lot cheaper, looks like having a hell of a lot of exclusive games and very few ports. It'll offer something different and though I don't think all that many games will just want a Revolution I think it will be many peoples second system and thats where it will be a success
  21. Crystal Chronicles This Year

I bought this quite soon after it came out as a huge fan of the other Final Fantasy games and I really enjoyed the gameplay at first but areas were just too empty and I found the fact that it was almost entirely devoid of a storyline quite disappointing and as I am the only one of my friends with a GBA I sadly never got to experience it in multiplayer It wasn't worth keeping just for the single player. A Revo version taking full advantage of the controller and with a better storyline and more involving gameplay (Still real-time, just with a bit more variation and more going on) could be an amazing game, possibly a system seller. IGN seem to think its a dead cert to be a launch title so it looks like we have this, Metroid Prime 3 and SSB 3 all but officially confirmed for launch.
  22. GDC- what will be revealed?

I think final specs, system/controller design, final name and possibly some controller add-ons/controller shells at most. I don't think we'll see any games until E3 though and I wouldn't even count on the other stuff, great though it would be.
  23. Revolution game list

Apologies if this has been posted but according to gamefront.de Nintendo have registered the following trademarks.
  24. You're trying to tell me that the shell has relations of a sexual nature with other controller shells The cube controller is a fantastic design, it has all the buttons you could need and I don't think there's any need to make any major changes, maybe slight ones to the D-Pad/Z Button/C-Stick (Making them a little bigger) but nothing more.
  25. 'ORB' (New game for Revolution!!)

This is another thing thats making me really look forward to Revolution, the amount of small ambitious developers making games for it, there are bound to be some flops but some could be huge successes and amidst all the crap ports and yearly sequels its a refreshing change to see so many small developers working on ambitious projects.
