  1. Resident Evil Wii

It'll probably be a spin-off and I wouldn't even be surprised if it was an FPS game. I genuinley don't think we'll see Resi 5 on this unless the Wii exclusive version sells like hotcakes, usually spin-off Resi games are handled by other developers so if Capcom themselves are working on this I think it'll be a serious game, even if its not a follow up to Resi 4.
  2. Wii Sports

I don't see the big problem with the automatic movement. These games are supposed to be fun, easy to use games. If you had to start fiddling around with the nunchuk attachment too it would put a lot of people off. We're almost certain to see Mario Tennis/Virtua Tennis on the system at some point so people wanting a serious, full-price tennis game can wait till then.
  3. Disaster: Day of Crisis

Its being developed by Monolith who traditionally make atmospheric First Person titles - I think this may well be the same. It sounds really promising
  4. Super Paper Mario

I officially hate Nintendo. Not only are there a load of DS and Wii titles I will be wanting around the christmas period but they go and announce two fantastic looking new Cube titles. This'll keep me going for a lifetime
  5. Nintendo Conference Disscussion

Nice find, it looks like a SNES pad with sticks on it - I hope its not wired though it would appear that way - Perhaps thats just to plug it into the freehand controller. Thoughts on the conference? Absolutely superb - The games look absolutely great and although I was disappointed not to see Smash Bros. I'm more than happy with what we've got. The graphics all look nice in motion and there's a nice range of games, it basically looks like we're getting smoother versions of Gamecube/Xbox games, graphics wise. I look forward to hearing impressions and seeing more footage and I also hope we'll see some more stuff from the bigger third parties such as Konami/Capcom. The final controller design is gorgeous - I wasn't taken by the idea of having two A and B buttons and having 1 and 2 buttons is a great idea. The final design looks more streamlined and sexy than the original whilst still retaining the same style, nice to see the huge connector between nunchuk and wiimte is gone too. I'm really excited now Disappointed not to hear details on pricing/launch though
  6. Wii Sports

It looks like a lot of fun - I'm glad to see they've stopped milking Mario and just made a standard sports package, this'll be a must at launch for me. One of the characters looked a lot liked Reggie - design your own characters/take a pic of your face and put it in the game perhaps?
  7. Nintendo Conference Disscussion

Anybody watching this via IGN Insider? Any idea where/when the links gonna pop up, the livewire site just says coming soon
  8. Tennis game.

The character models are very 'Camelot' esque and given they have made all the Mario Tennis titles it would seem likely. I think the final version will probably look like Mario Tennis with human characters in it. Probably likely to launch and I'd like to see it as part of a budget sports range in the style of the sports series the NES and Gameboy had.
  9. http://uk.revolution.ign.com/articles/705/705870p1.html Read that - Basically it seems that the functionality is the same as in the analogue stick attachment and similar to the technology in the likes of Kirbys: Tilt and Tumble and Wario Ware Twisted - It won't have nearly the amount of functions the Wii controller has and as its a tacked on feature its unlikely to be used for much. Not only that but its still the same off-putting controller to non-gamers.
  10. "We're not interested in gimmicks..." Singstar? Buzz? Using your PSP as a rear view mirror in a PS3 F1 game? Stealing Nintendo's idea and turning it into a cheap gimmick? Yeah, you're not interested in gimmicks. Regardless, it won't have the impact the Wii controller will and if anything it just shows Sony as the shameless idiots they are. The Wii controller was designed from the ground-up for the system, so every game could use it, the controller is designed so such control is comfy and suitable. Due to the shape of the PS3 controller it won't be suitable for a lot of games - FPS/Strategy games for example will work on Wii because its like a pointer, due to the dual shock 3's shape you won't be able to use it as a pointer. I think we'll see it used as a tacked on gimmick in racing games/flight games and very little else personally.
  11. Wii Tennis

You know what I meant. Realistic characters as in human characters as opposed to Mario characters.
  12. Wii Tennis

There's a screen of this from the new EGM, looks like Mario Tennis with realistic characters as opposed to the Mario characters. Looks nice... http://www.infendo.com/uploaded_images/timescans-727882.jpg
  13. Wii Hardware Discussion

£130 was the Cube's launch price so I don't think it'd be unreasonable to expect that for Wii, no more than £150 anyway I wouldn't think. The speaker in the Wii controller is definitley a cool function, as long as its good quality - To hear realistic thuds as the ball hits the bat (Wii controller) coming from it would be a pretty funky addition though I hope its not the final secret, I'm hoping for something much more exciting
  14. Dragon Quest Swords makes me think its a spin-off as opposed to a genuine member of the DQ series, I hope its a proper RPG though rather than an action RPG - I expect it will be as they won't want two such similar games (this and CC) to be competing at launch. Those two titles should really make the Wii appeal to the Japanese from day one. Great news.
  15. Final Fantasy CC: The Crystal Bearers!

I get the feeling we might not see this or Dragon Quest at UK launch due to translation, assuming their isn't much time between Japanese and European launch. Still, its a good title to have and if they can build on the promise of the Cube version it could be a top notch title.
  16. Surprise?....!

It seems quite likely we'll see a Star Wars game and particularly one with lightsaber combat, the system was made for it. No big surprises at all with that news.
  17. Buying Wii on the first day?...

I'd ideally like a White one at launch and I intend to be out for a midnight launch if there is one, although failing that I'll be down for the moment the shops open the next day. Can't wait - I was really excited with Cube and GBA, pre-ordering and watching footage regularly until launch but my excitement for games was kind of killed off by the time the DS came out and I had no interest in it until I played one in town and found out how much fun it was first hand. It really got me back into gaming and now I'm anticipating the big Wii launch
  18. Where are you going to pre-order?

Probably Gamestation, I usually buy from them and they'll price-match Game - Their staff are also friendlier and more knowledgable than the idiots in my local Game. If Game offered a midnight launch (and Gamestation didn't) and were doing better bundles (and Gamestation wouldn't match them) then I'd change my mind though, I might pre-order from both just to be sure. I won't get it online as most people who buy consoles online tend to be messed about, though I might buy my extra games online (the non bundle ones) as they'll undoubtedly be cheaper.
  19. Mario 128

I think its highly unlikely that Nintendo will be unleashing all their big franchises on us from day one, it'd be a mistake as its nice to have them to look forward to. I think Wario Ware is a certainty and it sounds like Metroid is also quite likely for launch as it helps push Nintendo's mature side. We also know Zelda is quite likely to end up essentially being a Revo launch title, even if it is still officially released as a Gamecube game. Smash Bros is also though to be in the works for launch but I wouldn't be surprised if it got pushed back a bit (the same as with Mario Kart at DS launch). I think its certainly possible Nintendo may have a lot of games ready for launch but I think its likely they'll be spaced out. Wario Ware and Zelda at launch and I'll be a very content man for many months
  20. Virtual Console Theory Thread

The PC Engine was the Japanese name for the Turbo Grafix. Also, Master System and Game Gear games have only been rumoured although it would make sense.
  21. E3 2006 Hype/Discussion

I've been fairly busy all week and I'll be pretty busy until Tuesday afternoon which means the time flies by till the conference. I'm then doing absolutely nothing for three days which means lots of time to gawp at stuff online
  22. New Screen from Nibris' "Sadness"

Eternal Darkness wasn't even reaching anything like the Gamecube's capabilities - This should look at least as good as Resident Evil 4 or they won't be taking full advantage of the hardware. I think if they want to make a truly chilling game they need to make sure the visuals are top drawer as it will add to the atmosphere considerably - RE1/RE4 graphics are good enough for me and I think if the Gamecube can handle them then Wii should be able to. I really like the idea of this game but as its coming from an inexperienced developer so I'm not going to get too hyped about it just yet.The concept is excellent though.
  23. Original Star Wars DVDs are coming!!!!

Well from my point of view I'd much rather see a version of the film that ties in with the prequels and also makes sense by having Jabba the Hutt appear is a big fat slug monster in both films rather than a human in one and a big fat slug monster in the other. People will buy them though and then no doubt a box-set with all 6 films (Probably with the 3 versions of the original trilogy that have been released as well) will be released on the victor of HD-DVD vs. Blue Ray.
  24. Original Star Wars DVDs are coming!!!!

Erm, I think you've misunderstood - These are the original ones minus the digital remastering and changes. The films as released in the late 70's/early 80's. They're not all that different to the ones we have now but those who don't like the extra's that were placed into the special editions and didn't buy them as a consequence will be happy with these. I don't imagine I'll buy them, I'm happy with the special editions as they were how the films were when I first saw them.
