  1. Anyone know when Nintendo are actually planning on adding anything new to the eShop? 2 weeks without anything is pretty poor in my opinion.
  2. This sums up my opinion on this game perfectly, couldn't add anymore to it.
  3. The fact you don't own a Wii U does detract somewhat from your point as 'you' haven't spent hundreds of pounds on a product that, due to poor support, you are not able to enjoy to it's full potential. You aren't having to accept poor ports of old games and a basically non-existent games catalogue on the eshop etc, etc. My games backlog on other platforms is totally irrelevant as I didn't buy a Wii U to play games on my PS3, PC, etc.
  4. No, gaming isn't a massive part of my life as I am a professional with a full time job and family. However, I do enjoy gaming as a means of recreation when time allows and having purchased a new console would like to have the opportunity to use it. If you felt that I was 'begging' for games then, you may need to re-read my original post as you have obviously totally misinterpreted my point / issue. I was voicing my dissatisfaction at the release titles and eshop support and questioning why / when this was going to improve. If you are happy playing poor / broken ports of games which have been released months previously on other systems, happy with a basically empty eshop and have no problem with major game releases being delayed or even no date of release on the Wii U then that's fine, that's your opinion. Your feeling on my opinion doesn't make mine any less valid though, does it? As for creating this thread, I doubt it took much more effort for me to do so then it did for you to reply in it. Hope that has cleared up a few issues for you.
  5. Forgetting the fact that statement actually makes no sense, do you have anything constructive to add?
  6. A very witty response.....I assume you realise that 'its gathering dust' is an idiom though, right?
  7. Am I the only one that is completely underwhemed by the games currently available? Overall a pretty poor release line up. Aside from Zombi U (which I think is superb - although flawed and needing a patch), the only games that are available are either broken / poor quality ports from other systems or rehashes of Wii games. The eshop is a complete waste of time. Yes, it will improve but why not, at the very least, have it packed full of Wii U V.C. from launch? My Wii U is quickly gathering dust from lack of use and that is not good with something I paid around 400 pounds for (including games and accessories). I was looking forward to Aliens but........the Wii U version isn't being released at the same time as other formats. When are the games coming????
  8. Just what us Wii U owners need. A port of about a year old game......and a pretty poor game at that.
  9. Tried this game for the first time yesterday and I have to say it is amazing. VERY hard, VERY creepy, VERY atmospheric. I think the way the Gamepad is used in the game is brilliant - I especially enjoy using the scanner to look around and mark objects. I'm really not into Mario, Zelda, Metroid Prime, etc (pretty much most of Nintendos franchises then lol) so more games like this please
  10. That pad looks really good to be honest so please do let me know how you get on with it. I have about 4000 points on my Stars account (Not bad for only having it a week lol) so may just get some Wii points and download some VC content (theres slim pickings in that catalogue fair play - only DSi accessories, general tat and Wii points lol - shame there's no eShop vouchers). I could always buy / upgrade any games as they come onto the Wii U store. Thanks for the info guys.
  11. Ive been looking forward to this game for a very long time. Loved the film franchise growing up (Aliens still remains one of my favourite times). After watching a few videos on the game it really does seem to capture the look and feel of the films brilliantly. My only dilemma is whether to get it on the Wii U or PS3. How the Gamepad is implemented into the game will prove to be a big factor - using it as a tracker with that very distinctive pulsing sound would be amazing. Switching between what you can see on the pad and what you can actually see in the shadows on your tv would really ramp up the tension. But then I assume the online and DLC will be better on the PS3. Hmmmm........both maybe lol
  12. Thanks for the reply. All sorted now Yeah, I did see that thread but, with all the 'crap' posted in it, I wasn't sure my post would be seen. Thanks for the help.
  13. Morning all. I have a Club Nintendo account set up and have managed to register all my Wii U games (using the scratch card code inside). However, I didn't have one of those scratch cards in my Wii U box so how do I register my console for Stars Points? Thanks
  14. Thanks very much for that Andy. Didn't know the Wii U had a original Wii / shop mode - looks like that's the way forward then. Going to have to get myself the Wii controllers then. Thanks again
  15. Hiya all. just got myself a shiny new black Wii U and have a few questions please. With regards to the store, is it set to be updated regularly like PS Store / XBL Store? If so is there a designated day of the week / date of the month it is scheduled for? Also, I was expecting loads of awesome retro games to play via the Virtual Console thingy (I never had a Wii but heard loads about it) so, was very disappointed to see that there is only one retro game on the store Anyway, is the Wii U likely to get the Virtual Console? Or, if I was to buy a cheap original Wii, buy the games on that then transfer them over - would that work? Thanks for any help. Edit: Also, does the Wii U play Gamecube games
