How's the PC version? I've read it has alot of problems with punkbuster in MP specifically.
-
The reviews are up seems it's far from perfection but definitely worth playing for it''s high production values and great battle system. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/final-fantasy-xiii-review?page=1 http://ps3.rpgsite.net/reviews/42/207/final-fantasy-xiii-review.html

Sky Crawler (New game from the Ace Combat Team)
The-Ironflame replied to pedrocasilva's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I picked this up and it's enjoyable so far, the Nunchuck and Wii Remote controls are really tough to master though it just seems so senstitive and unresponsive, you can at least use a Gamecube controller or Classic Controller instead but you can't customize the buttons for either so if you use Expert controls that let's you to turn the plane more freely without the game leveling the plane out using Normal controls. The problem is the Yaw controls are mapped to the d-pad so it can get awkward. Graphically it's a bit flat very ps2 ish but the music is pretty good and the voice acting is very tolerable with some very nice animated cutscenes. I would say the story is good enough to want to play through but the characters are really shallow and that's a problem because the story seems to focus around these characters and the main character you play is silent. At the very least on the gameplay side there's plenty of variety between the different aircraft such as defense, mobility and speed and the special weaponry you can equip such as Rockets, Unguided bombs, Napalm bombs and a shotgun type gun etc for different missions which mostly involves Dogfights or bombing missions or a mix of both and there's also some upgrades to beef up your Aircraft's stats which you can equip in the hangar pre-mission which you pick up as you complete each story mission. (although I'm not sure if you get them from getting higher score rankings) -
This is great when you get good teammates but when you have a team that won't defuse the bombs or choose to walk on foot instead of of using vehicles it get's frustrating. It's still pretty laggy aswell I keep teleporting now and again. I just figure out how to fire normal tank rounds while firing but I seem to remember there being smokes in the first Bad Company?

It came out in 2007 you probably didn't have it connected to the internet back then? Anyway my Amazon order arrived I haven't received Inferno armour code yet even though it says I'll receive it on day of release hmm.
-
My VGP import copy arrived today gonna start it some point tonight No point waiting for it release here really since it's 5 months away..
-
Tried it out for a short while, it's very laggy atm for whatever reason so I can't really get a real impression from it.
-
The demo is already out today, not up yet in Europe because I can't find it there atm. P.S I mean the file wasn't up there in the list of recent downloads earlier.

I've pre-ordered from both a few were held up by that postal strike in November, although I definitely got MW2 on release when Amazon dropped their price and Darkside Chronicles from Argos on day of release.

Amazon and argos are selling the 360 version for pre-order at £29.99. http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/570500/mass-effect-2-xbox-360-delivered-fr http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/570678/pre-order-mass-effect-2-x360-29-99- As far as i know Amazon have a price guarantee so you pay the lowest price IF you order now at the current price even if the price rises.

IGN review over here: http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/105/1050951p1.html Bad news though it's out for release in the US next week with no publicity so far and rumour is retailers are taking in very low stock allocations. http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=106706

The World cup Draw is about to start, it'll be interesting how the groups pan out.

If you have a Wavebird or Gamecube controller it works great aswell. I recommend this game to everyone either now or for Christmas it's well worth it if you like this kind of slick action hack and slash, it looks beautiful and it the music is great. By the way there is plenty of strategy to the game than button mashing if you play the game in Shura mode (normal/hard) as there is less random encounters, more damage and auto blocking when you play in Muso mode (easy).

We can't defend as a Unit and we can't handle Drogba, I feared the worst. I was hoping for a draw but the way we defend we were going to get battered. I predicted a 1-3 to Chelsea which was close apart from the fact we were toothless upfront Arshavin is lacking confidence and everybody else was useless Theo came on and he doesn't have a final ball why do we try to cross when we have smaller players up front up against their tall defensive players? They defended well but we we had enough possession and attacking talent to create more chances.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
The-Ironflame replied to jammy2211's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm not suprised this did not even chart in the UK Wii charts took over a year to get here with no advertising and it launched in the same week as MW2. Meanwhile I have my copy unopened but I got it because my mate said the writing and story is very good despite the lack of production values. -
Sky Crawler (New game from the Ace Combat Team)
The-Ironflame replied to pedrocasilva's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Has nobody noticed this piece of news? Sky Crawlers has been announced for release in Europe on February 2010. http://gonintendo.com/viewstory.php?id=104869 -
It's likely out next week according to RSG themselves unless they delay it for the third time: http://www.risingstargames.com/games/muramasa-the-demon-blade-wii.html Who knows how much stock these online retailers will have and whether there will be enough demand for a restock if needed but at the moment it's available in the usual places over here: http://www.gamestracker.com/buy-muramasa-the-demon-blade-compare-prices-wii.htm and shopto have it listed aswell.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Reflex Edition
The-Ironflame replied to Dyson's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Bozon only played it for two days and reviewed it, he said it himself in the comments section. http://boards.ign.com/call_of_duty/b6860/186801669/p8 He seems in the minority who doesn't like the controls alot of people say otherwise, I've got my rental copy arriving tommorow so I'll see for myself but it sounds like what The Conduit should of been. -
The PC version is locked at 6v6 for TDM, 9v9 for Ground War which is terrible for a PC game in this day and age, even though I can't stand more than 24 players in the recent Call of Duty's. It just goes to show the limitations of IWNet and P2P online gaming. But still you get smoother controls and better looking graphics if you have the hardware otherwise there's not much difference other than perhaps the community.

Are you playing it with a pair of headphones or a surround sound system? Because that amplifies the creepy atmosphere as the sound design is excellent.

Amazon are selling it for 32 quid if you can't get down to Sainsburys or Asda http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0021AETNQ/ref=ox_ya_os_product

I might get it to fill in until Bad Company 2 is out in March, I need something with a bit more skill and teamwork. Call of Duty nowadays is fun but even more frustrating with these new multiplayer features like Killstreaks and Perks and it's a bit headless.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Reflex Edition
The-Ironflame replied to Dyson's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Offscreen multiplayer footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVUY5-sBO1I (before it gets inevitably deleted) It's pretty impressive work from Treyarch with how much time they might of had and the support from Activision.
