But then to be fair, most things cost more here than anywhere else. So complaining about it is like complaining about the weather being crappy, or coke being watered down in pubs. Its commonplace. But I understand the need to vent.

Going back to the mention of GAME having Wi-Fi, BT are putting the lines in this month for every store, and apparenly they'll go active then. Interesting it says "The Wi-Fi for Nintendo DS..." so either they will charge normally, but DS goes in for free, or its just cause Nintendo and GAME are now sleeping together.

Your Game may have taken lots of "register your interests", but did they take pages and pages of actual £20 deposits? GAME was the only company (store company, online is a different company) who filled every deposit. As I said, register your interest is a different thing. But yes, hopefully stock will be akin to the DS Lite, we got sixty of those buggers in and our levels have remained high.

National minimum wage for anyone over 21 will be £5.35 from next month. "Full time" employment is 35 hours a week, so thats £187 a week. Granted, not many people would spend a whole weeks wage, but there are 12 weeks left, which is £2247 you could save up. (And yes I'm aware not everyone is in full time employment etc etc etc) Nintendo never hinted the price would be £100-150, that was always just guesses. Nintendo fans should learn to stop hyping, because they always end up dissapointed.

Microsoft have said on at least five different occassions in MCV that they have no plans to drop the 360 price. Granted, plans may have changed since the PS3 delay, but still.

Relating it to the Core system is a bit of a moo point, as the Core system is useless. Its not £200, its £223 because you need a memory card. Then add a game. The Wii is Wi-Fi out of the box. A Core system is not, you need to add a Hard Drive and a Gold subscription to play online. So thats £270, plus £40 a year for the subscription.

Why? Its guaranteeing you one, you're just putting some money upfront to ensure you get it.

You deposit £20, when you come to buy the console it is £20 less because you have already paid £20.

As of the 20th GAME will be offering 10% more on trade ins (think theres T&C, the info is vague), so wait until then (and of course shop around, see if you can get better trade ins)

Wait a few weeks and re-pre-order, its free after all. GAME are still doing the "register your interest", and as MD said, they will keep their eye on this before buying does anything, and then they will tell allocation, and they will then split it into regions, and then stores. And then when each store knows how many they are getting they will begin taking deposits, so it will be a while. I'd like to say it will be soonish, but considering the managers have to go to a 2-day Nintendofest on October 31st/November 1st it really wouldn't surprise me if they decided it all then.
