In fact, a rather wonderful thing happened to me today. Having already gotten paid for 6 weeks work (they didn't register some details apparently, so they tacked 2 weeks onto this month's wages), my boss gave me an envelope with £200 in cash, saying it was for the two weeks they forgot to pay me last time. I got a little confused, but it wasn't until my break (and by that time she'd left) that I realised what had happened. It's like playing Monopoly and getting a Community Chest card.
