Sarka
Well, I've just freshly installed Windows XP as my Windows Explorer kept crashing. And now, I don't have any sound on it and the computer doesn't pick up on any sound card... Now, I believe I have this card: http://uk.europe.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=205&product=14257&nav=-1 However, I dunno where to get the driver or whatever you need to use it. Please help me, Thanks.
Bogbas
I think that there's some sort of auto update on the site. Just be sure to use IE and disable pop-up blockers and enable active x. It's on support---> software autoupdate But if the windows doesn't pick it up I doubt that the auto update will. You don't have the drivers for it on a cd? Ramar
Go to support and then autoupdate is there.
Sarka
Thanks guys. It doesn't find it so I'm going to look hard for the disk that came with the computer - then if I can't find it, buy a new one.
triforce_keeper
Sorry to budge in but my speakers are playing up when I turn them on they go all grizzly and won't play any sound. Any ideas? Btw this is on my old comp at my dads.
Mr_Odwin
There's an app over at driverguide that can detect hardware without installed drivers. It'll tell you what your hardware is then you can search their site and find the corresponding driver. http://www.driverguidetoolkit.com/

So yay! Any suggestions for good sound cards, nothing to fancy.
Sarka
Ok, sorry for bumping and double posting but I don't want to make a new thread for a related matter. Basically, I have been looking around for a new sound card when I thought I'd have a looky inside my computer to make sure the sound card was connected all nicely. I expected it to look like a flat card... like it should? However, when I looked I saw this: Does this have any relevance to my problem? And will a flat sound card still work? (I have a free slot at the bottom)
