I think that there's some sort of auto update on the site. Just be sure to use IE and disable pop-up blockers and enable active x.

It's on support---> software autoupdate

But if the windows doesn't pick it up I doubt that the auto update will. You don't have the drivers for it on a cd?

Thanks guys. It doesn't find it so I'm going to look hard for the disk that came with the computer - then if I can't find it, buy a new one.

There's an app over at driverguide that can detect hardware without installed drivers. It'll tell you what your hardware is then you can search their site and find the corresponding driver.

Thanks Odwin, that doesn't pick up on any sound things, I suppose I'll just buy a new one, and as my Mother said "Well, we might as well get a good one if we're getting a new one at all!" So yay!

Any suggestions for good sound cards, nothing to fancy.

Ok, sorry for bumping and double posting but I don't want to make a new thread for a related matter.

Basically, I have been looking around for a new sound card when I thought I'd have a looky inside my computer to make sure the sound card was connected all nicely. I expected it to look like a flat card... like it should? However, when I looked I saw this:

Does this have any relevance to my problem? And will a flat sound card still work? (I have a free slot at the bottom)
