How about NO.

Gran Turismo HD is the epitomy of everything I hate about where console games are going. Microtransactions to grab even more of your money. Even though that game will apparently cost almost nothing for the disc and box I still don't see how it could end up being much cheaper overall for the customer - otherwise Sony wouldn't be doing it.

Instead of releasing up to game 11 in the series by the end of the Wiis life cyclce, they should do something similar to GT: HD, release an initial version of the game at budget price with online capabilities where you can verse random people around the world and instead of buying additional installments each and every time, you buy additional game boards, characters, minigames, sound clips additional title screen pictures the works via the Virtual Console. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION GUARANTEED.

what about people who only have dialup they wouldn't be able to access the vc. what about gamers who don't have the internet.

For a series like GT its not feasible, but think about how this could work with Mario Party, assuming 4 MP games are released on Wii during its lifespan thats $200US, you could up spending half that by customising the game to your liking buying little bits and pieces of the game, just buying little bits and pieces making it the ultimate MARIO PARTY GAME EVER, it'd be better than spending $50 US each time for a game thats the same stuff, just rehashed again with new mini games.

The concept behind GT: HD is stupid. You are effectively denied one of the key rights of being a consumer, "choice" as you are literally forced to purchase the additional content of the game or have a game that has next to nothing in terms of replay value and value for money, that is if you actually purchase GT: HD to begin with.

If something like this were to be implemented into the Mario Party series, they would need to incorporate something that would provide the best gaming experience for all gamers, not just the demographic that has internet access and this is particularly important in light of Nintendos strategy of attempting to appeal to non gamers as a lot of these people within this target market that don't play video games aren't exactly technologically savvy, but as the point of not everyone having internet has already been raised I won't ramble on about that particular point.

A better solution would be to provide a "complete" game for consumers so that people that don't have internet access can have a copy of the complete game but to also provide people with the opportunity and choice to upgrade the game if the developers choose to create additional characters, maps and what not either being free for consumers to download free of charge or for a small nominal fee through the Wiis virtual console service.
