  1. 1. Zelda one disc for both?

    • it'll be a GC game with Rev extras if you play it through the rev
      38
    • it'll be released for each with (slight) differences and individual packaging
      3
    • it'll be two versions and the differences will be significant due to the control scheme differences

I don't see why you treat the idea so feciously. We know Zelda is for the most part coded as GameCube game. We know that Revolution doesn't emulate GameCube since you can boot from GameCube discs. We have countless pieces of information saying how easy it is to develop for Revolution cos it's the same as the GameCube but with more oomph. We know the game isn't coming until the Revolution launch window. We know it will use the Revolution controller. And yet you treat the idea, which is no more outlandish than anything you've suggested, with disdain.

And why are you cataloging Xbox 360 games when you told us all you'd sold it? Or have you bought another one?

the cataloging thing was joke... as i said above...

the fact is TP has been developed from the ground up as a GC game (for numerous years now) so they are unlikely to make a new Rev Upgrade Version that has hooks which removed features when played on the GC. The reverse, however, is almost certainly the case.

I also think it'll be two seperate SKU's because Nintendo will likely want to distance the Rev from the GC which isn't exactly sparkling image of success... and only releasing it is a Rev game that can be played on the cube brings the two even closer together and further from the competiton in peoples minds.

Whatever happend to that Kirby game for the Gamecube, it didn't look to shabby.

Maybe though because Kirby games are developed by Hal Labs, the game was put on hold for the Revolution so they could work on the new Super Smash Bros.

I think it's been confirmed to still be in production a while ago. People thought it had disappeard but when someone from HAL/Nintendo was asked about it, it hadn't been cancelled.

Just because the console can boot up GCN discs doesn't mean it doesn't emulate them.

The whole backwards compatibility issue with the PlayStation family is because the PS2 can emulate PSOne games, just as the PS3 will emulate PS2 and PSOne games.

However, I'm inclined to believe that the Revolution will actually run GCN games, rather than emulate them.

actualkly the ps2 has the psone chipset included - it's used as system controller - because sony were able to cost-reduce it so far.

it is still unkown whether the ps3 will emulate or use a similar method.

i'm hoping the rev actually does just run the software after experiencing the ropey emulation of xbox games by the 360. halo/2 excluded.
