I use Windows Live Essentials, mainly the Mail program. Up until yesterday it was working fine. No issues at all. But, since i shut down the computer last night and re-booted this morning, i can't open the Mail client anymore. I have looked on the internet for solutions, and have tried them all with no luck.

I have tried

  • Disabling the Internet Security Package and re-installing Mail
  • Run a repair of the programs
  • Uninstalled and re-installed the package
  • Ran a system scan
  • Run an Anti-Malware/Spyware scan
  • A System restore
  • Ran the program as an Administrator

All of the above have failed to get the program to work again. Plus, i can't get into Gmail due to my account(s) being hacked and deleted and Google being as helpful as a faulty lifebelt.

I'm planning on giving up and attempt to get Mozilla Thunderbird going again for my client. Any solutions/fixes i can try before i give up on the Windows Live Mail program

Oh, almost forgot. I am using Windows 7 Premium 64bit, Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 and Live Essentials 2011.

Have you checked for Windows updates recently?

I have yes, the only update is an audio codec from RealTec.

Quick update. Managed to get Outlook going, somehow Thunderbird doesn't like WLM. Using a connector pack, which is going slow. Probably due to the number of emails i have.
