flameboy Posted July 10, 2009 Posted July 10, 2009 I'm largely posting this because to celebrate the release of Streetfighter IV on PC, there has been an official release of streetfighter 2 championship edition over on kongregate. http://www.kongregate.com/games/GameTap/street-fighter-2-ce I'm loosely basing this release as a springboard for conversation about where browser based gaming is going and who is playing what. Kongregate is a great site and there is plenty of good games on there including a brilliant zelda clone called Hero's Quest I think, plus you also get a nice achievements system which works really well... There's also the likes of Quake Arena via browser as well as MMO's such as Runescape.... I defintely think browser based gaming coupled with cloud gaming is the way forward as soon as some browser software engineer can come up with a way of streaming video onlive style you would have the ultimate games experience, any game anywhere any time from any computer via your browser (yes this is very pie in the sky)
