Emasher Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 Emasher encouraging to be sneaky and break rules!?! Wow things sure have changed since I've been gone. Anyhow.. if you're really that paranoid you could always just bring an old phone with ya, and then pull it out and say "see its off" if they bother you. In this case, there's no reason not to use it though. If a rule makes no sense, there's no reason not to break it unless you have a really good chance of getting caught, and punished. In this case, the rule makes no sense and even if you do get caught they're just going to tell you to put it away anyway.

Some are more clear than others, and some which arent as important as others. I think this is a silly rule, although do be careful just incase you get caught.

Just look at how airlines are gradually allowing the use of wireless devices in the cabin during flight. He's not even going to be using the wireless functions, there really isn't much difference between using it or a DS as far as safety is concerned. The rule is there for a reason, and that reason is paranoia. IMO, its not a good enough reason to follow it, especially when there are virtually no consequences when caught, and there is very little chance of getting caught to begin with.

Its there for ignorace, there will be more reasons than we think. Im not arguing how obselete the rule is, im saying thers always reasons for them.
