flameboy Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Stepmums ipod has worked fine for god knows how long now whenever I plug it into the computer to sync it, windows says USB device not recognized! wtf! plugged it into my laptop to see if I could get it to work and it says its fine, but obviously need it to work on home computer so she can use her library. Also looked at this; http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 tried all that and clicking to update drivers but it says they are all in working order so what can be wrong?
McPhee Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Try a different USB port. It's a common problem between Windows and the iPod unfortunately.

Guest Jordan Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Usually this means theres a driver issue on Windows. If you plug it in, do you get anything pop into device manager?

It just seems odd as it was working a few days back I am trying a system restore to the last saved point.
Guest Jordan Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Easier option: Remove your USB hosts from device manager and reinstall the drivers. This *should* refresh any driver devices connected to the hosts...

This *should* refresh any driver devices connected to the hosts... Tried that didn't work. Did a System Restore and it worked. It did also say the Ipod was damaged so had to repair and fix it. But its sorted now so can leave my step mum to listening to it.
