Want new headphones/earphones for mp3 player, suggestions?

I managed to break my earphones the other day, and I'm currently using a crappy old pair, so I think it's time to get some new ones.

 

Thing is, I don't know wether to go for headphones or earphones. My friend suggests headphones, as they have the best sound quality, but at the same time, I'm more of an earphone person.

 

Tbh, I just want whatever's the best sound quality, and something that blocks out pretty much any outdoor noise. As for budget, I'm looking for something around £25-£30 at the most.
