Sanchez Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Lost an almost full terabyte today, something about partition table dying or something, SpinRite gives this error. The drive shows up but only as 8GB big, unformatted raw data and nothing left. "Invalid partition for drive size. This partition exceeds the size of this drive as defined by the system's BIOS or BIOS extension. You should not proceed to use SpinRite on this drive until you have verified and corrected the disparity between this drive and the BIOS' or BIOS extension's understanding of the drive size." Partition magic gives the wrong data but recognises the proper physical size, it seems unable to do anything to recover it. gparted live cd didn't boot for some reason and I don't think it could fix this anyway.
