mariosmentor Posted April 20, 2008 Posted April 20, 2008 Didn't know if this should go in tech talk or what but here I go. The problem is that I have both an Xbox 360 and a PS3 that are connected to my HDTV via HDMI. The Tv is then connected to my sound system via Optical Cable. The problem is that on my Xbox the 5.1 Surround sound is completely fine whereas on the PS3 changing it to surround sound - going through HDMI custom sound settings settings and selecting DTS 5.1 or Dolby 5.1 surround but never at the same time - It either cuts out audio, certain soundtracks etc. or dialog is unheard or muffled in contrast to the music. Can anybody shed any light on the situation? And yes I know I could plug the Optical cable straight into the PS3 but it is frequently moved between rooms and Optical cables seem a bit frail for constant connecting and disconnecting.
