david.dakota Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 i'm trying to replace the power jack at the back of a lap top. The pin is wobblier than a jelly on Captain Nemo's table in high seas. I've successfully managed to strip the laptop down to the mother board. I now have direct access to the jack. Its rather tight, so how do i remove it? Forcefully? Its actually the one thing missing from the step by step instructions i'm following...
Shorty Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 What's your level of ability on these kind of things? Do you have a soldering iron/soldering skills? I imagine it's just a case of resoldering the underside so that it comes off, but I don't have any actual experience with laptop power jacks. A local computer repair shop might be able to give you some hints and even do it for you at a price. PS... your sig is huge, the image is above the height rules here and all those lines of text make your sig take up twice the space of your message, please condense it a little.
