Games i'm in to is Supreme Commander and i'm hoping to get the new Crysis game but the card i'm going to buy for my new build will be the ATI HD2600XT 256MB GDDR4 Mem is this enough to last me or at least a a couple of years before i upgrade to ATIs equivelent to the 880GTX Basic spech of new build will be Core 2 Duo E6850 2Gb Ram ATI HD2600XT 256MB GDDR4 Gigabyte GA P35 DQ6, iP35 Express cheers for the help Raj

Guest Jordan Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 The GeForce 8800 series is gunna be replaced soon anyway *cries*. But yeah, graphics ram is there so that the GPU can process incoming data and such, its good to have alot however. I have 640mb on my 8800GTS OS and sometimes its not enough.

The higher the res the more GRAM you need. A 512MB card is usually advisable for displays 20" and up because they're resolution is at least 1680 x 1050
