Dante Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 As Sega Saturn fans remove the crust from their eyes and realize a new NiGHTS game may actually be a reality, there's a catch: the original creator doesn't appear to be involved. Yuji Naka, of Sonic the Hedgehog and NiGHTS fame, moved onto a Sega satellite studio of sorts, Probe, some time ago, and recently spoke with C&VG about its progress. Naka is still working with Sega; he's help pioneering a program designed to encourage creative types to become independent, while still receiving support from Sega. At Probe, however, the focus is on innovation and developing new IP, not resurrecting the dead, as would be the case with an all-new NiGHTS game. Sorry, kids. "We're not going to be doing any ports or sequels: we only want to create original entertainment. We want to make works that have the power to fill the children of the world with dreams," he said. "At present, I have no such intentions [to revisit my old Sega games]." www.1up.com
flameboy Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 this isn't news was posted in the nights thread ages ago! as it was said in there, why would he work on the project when he's left Sega?! (ok I know they are associated with Sega still but..)
Hellfire Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 Makes sense, since he doesn't hold the rights to any property and left SEGA.
