You need to think of something the public wants and doesn't have, or does have, but you can provide a much better version of. Trust me, I've tried these things in the past, and been part of other peoples ideas, and without that special something, you've not got much of a chance. Think hard! And I'm sorry but this thread crosses the line as advertising, if you were looking for design feedback or tips it would be a different story, but you're just trying to get more visitors. Our advertising rules state no threads for the sole purpose of advertising. What you can do is put a line about the site in your sig and post around the boards a bit, thanks.
