Dante Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 Sony says: The Wall Street Journal (subscription required) has an article out that indirectly outlines Nintendo's comeback into the gaming world. Accordingly, U.S. retailers estimate that nearly 1.5 million Wiis will be sold before Christmas, about twice as many as the PS3. Nintendo explains that "Demand, as you can see from the reaction of consumers, has been greater than even we had hoped for." Sony's response? "We feel very confident that the PlayStation fan is going to wait until they can get a PlayStation 3...If they do pick up a Wii, it's as more of a novelty," says Sony spokesman Dave Karraker.
That Guy Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 And that, my friends, is why I want Nintendo to win.
Pyxis Posted December 13, 2006 Posted December 13, 2006 "Nintendo arent responsible for retailers. The stock shortages arent NOE's fault (wow, im defending them)" Sorry, it is 100% Nintendo's fault. Retailers are totally at the mercy of the supplier. They promised retailers certain allocations and didnt deliver those numbers..that's why a lot of people were promised one for launch but havent received one yet. Nintendo have seriously ****ed up and they are handing out free Wii games as a result. They havent even bothered to tell retailers when to expect the stock that they said that they were going to get for launch..it was supposed to be this week, but they havent announced anything...
