  1. What will be YOUR Virtual Console SOLUTION?

I'm gonna be picking up a Classic controller at some point in the future. I heard that you needed the classic controller for SSB Brawl, anyone else heard this? Unless they include the Classic controller with SSB Brawl then I can see this being potentially confusing for some.
  2. Curious goings on with the internet

But if you plan on using a Nintendo DS with the router then unfortuantely you can only go up to 128-bit WEP encryption. A few tips for keeping secure are: 1. Change the default SSID of the router to something else. I.e. change 'belkin 54g' to something totally different like 'weeyellowbloke' 2. Disable SSID Broadcasting. This means that average Joe won't even know your router is there unless he uses a special tool, but aslong as you know the SSID you can still connect. 3. Change the default router password to something else, ideally containing a mixture of uppercase and lowercase letters (aA-zZ), numbers (0-9) and special characters (!@£$%^&*?) 4. Enable 128-bit WEP encryption.
  3. About Wii+Reciever

I don;t think your Wii will support the USB adapter as it most likely requires drivers, and I don't think the Wii can have more drivers installed onto it. Does it give you any information? An error code? Some sort of description of what went wrong?
  4. USB Wi-Fi enhancer

I don't have much experience with these things but you can buy wireless repeaters which basically just recieve signal from your router then send it out again, boosting the wireless range. I'll see if I can find out some more info for you. EDIT: Something like this should do the trick. Or this. Or even this.
  5. The Wii House (a video & some pics)

I want to live in the Wii House
  6. European Wii Preorders

You do know it comes for free with the console?
  7. Most impressive feature

    The Wii Remote
  8. Well, I hate to say this, but to be honest I'm not all that impressed with the Wii launch line-up. Apart from Zelda and Red-Steel, nothing really catches my eye. But I think that aslong as Nintendo keep a steady flow of good games and make sure every now and then they bring out a game that's comparable to Zelda:OOT or Goldeneye, a game which people think is truly great, then Nintendo could take this generation, or at least take a lot of MS and Sony's market share. That and they have to make sure they keep up the marketing.
  9. I was just chatting to one of my friends and he brought up the fact that 480 isn't actually SD in Europe, it's 576 I think. Has it been confirmed if the Wii does 576 or is it 480 even in European models? And also, should I see a big difference between 480i and 480p? I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle of trying to find component cables or not. Thanks
  10. Wii cables and TV resoloution

Ummm oops. Sorry about that. So WIi only does 480i/480p then. I guess I might as well try to hunt down some component cables, anyone know if they'll be easy to find in the UK?
  11. UK Wii Tour - Details FINALLY!

Me and my pal Andrew are gonna be at the Glasgow Buchanan Galleries one on the 18th Nov (tomorrow!!). Can't wait!!
  12. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

At the end of Fusion she got her power suit back though did she not?
  13. Wii Hardware Discussion

I remember a while ago some people were worried that the blue light seemed to have disappeared, but if you look at this video you can see it a little bit when he turns the Wii round near the beginning. http://www.engadget.com/2006/11/11/wii-setup-and-interface-walkthrough-video/
  14. Wii Adverts

More like they get a bit miffed when some company releases a product which is better than Micro$oft's and that product actually starts to beat Micro$oft's. You would be surprised how many products come out which are better than M$'s but no one knows about them.
  15. so.... What are you taking home on the 8th?

I'll be picking up a Wii and a copy of Zelda on the 8th. For Christmas I'm *hoping* to get: Red Steel Two Wii Motes Two Nunchucks Wii Points Card *maybe* the Classic Controller
  16. The start up disc.

It doesn't say Wii Sports Disc in that picture, maybe that's what's on the startup disc.
  17. 512MB nVIDIA GeForce 7600GS

I think it's quite a decent PC. The graphics card is pretty good, and if you really want to squeeze more power out of it you could overclock it a little, as most cards can easily be overclocked a few Mhz, and they're less risky than overclocking CPUs as they should be cheaper to replace. The CPU isn't that bad. I mean sure it's a bit old and a Core 2 could kick it's ass any day, but it's dual core, not too bad a clock speed and it supports x86-64 which should make it somewhat future proof. Plus, 2gb is a good amount of RAM, considering most people can survive pretty well with 1gb. Overall, I think it's a good PC, could have been a little better, but I've heard Core 2s are compatible with P4 9xx boards, so maybe that would be a good upgrade, and since the graphics card will probably be PCI-E you can easily get that upgraded too.
  18. The start up disc.

There's a Wii start up disc?
  19. MS Windows Vista Box Shot

Oh my god so beautiful... Shame my Mac looks nicer, and it looked nicer before MS copied them :awesome:
  20. Games that break your controllers!

I bought a Sega Mega Drive controller, one with 6 buttons instead of 3, and the A B and C buttons broke on the one, I still have no idea how that happened. Apart from that I;ve never broken any controllers, but my cousin's PSOne controller had all of the plastic insulator taken off the wire somehow, and my friend Hayley's Gamecube controller had a bite mark on it
  21. Alkaline or Lithium Batteries

As far as I know it doesn't matter what sort of battery it is, it just matters that it's AA. I think the way it works is that the chemicals inside the battery make electricity, which is then sent out through the metal parts of the battery (well, only the negative side if you want to be picky). You could think of it like this: it doesn't matter if you get your electricity from a Coal, Nuclear or Wind power station, the electricity will still be able to power your Wii
  22. European Wii Preorders

Yeah, the guy said they were only allocated 7 units for the launch day, with another five coming in the few days after that. They only just started taking pre orders on Monday since they said that was when they got their allocation info. But you've gotta remember this is a small independent store, not a big massive one.
  23. Firewalls.

How did you connect his computer to the network? Did you connect his computer to your router, or is it physically connected to your computer and getting access to the internet from your computer?
  24. European Wii Preorders

Preordered my Wii on Monday! If you're hoping to preorder from CA Games in Glasgow then you're too late I got the last one
  25. One last secret - and its BIG!

How about a headset for online games? Or maybe the ability to use the DS's microphone to talk to people?
