I found it a lot harder to level up in this game, the Metal Slime family are a lot rarer and didn't even guarantee a level up upon killing them. Never ran into any difficulty spikes though. I found you didn't need to really grind vocations until the post game. My biggest issue is how open the game was, I had no idea were to go to the point I had reached places I wasn't meant to be yet. I beat Gracios (can't remember the exact name) without visiting the castle where you learn about him. Even the party chat started talking about things I hadn't done yet. The main reason I was stuck was because I didn't realise the fashion stuff was needed to progress the story when I thought it was optional. Can't tell if your serious, but sounds good for forces, pushes you away from the enemy so they can't hit you. Can see it being annoying though. Combat looked very fast and fluid, much more than PSO's 3 attack combo > pause battle system. Edit: Found a different video with a Force Can't see them being pushed back after casting Foie...

Got home from work to find Xenoblade has arrived! Faith in GAME restored! They even managed to package it better so it it didn't arrive damaged! Bonus!

Same. Saw a rumour on twitter that a GAME employee (in store) told someone they can't send it out to arrive early any more due to some sort of legal issue so I wouldn't get your hopes up in case it's true.
