    i'm having a christian bale day today. seen the machinist and equilibrium so far. i might watch american psycho tomorrow.

    i had work 9 till 3, then as you can see above i had a very pleasant few beers with Ashley.

     

    I got takeaway on the way home, then watched arrested development, and now i'm going to try and get a good nights sleep for the first time in about 5 weeks.

    personally, although it is past it's prime the last season was the first one that was actually bad. give them a second chance i think.

     

    If the next season is crap, cancel the tv show, and make a decent movie and let it go.

     

    edit - all of this is from an artistic point. there is absolutely no business reason to cancel it.

    Thanks to Aimless, I've been able to listen to Takk by Sigur Rós quite a lot. Very lovely album, with great songs. Very relaxing; even made me fall asleep at night while normally I can't sleep while music is playing. =)

     

    This makes me want to go and see them at Pukkelpop really badly, even if it means going all alone to see them!

     

    listen to (), not takk. or ageatis bryjin (i know i've spelt it wrong). I much prefer both and found them much more accessible.

    Firstly I've seen Mars Volta at Brixton a few years back and to be honest got a bit bored.

     

    Secondly I really wanted to see Sigur Ros and they were on at the same time! I'm happy with my choice :)

     

    did sigur ros play untitled 8? That song live remains probably the most stunningly beautifull 5 minutes of my life even after several years and 2 explosions in the sky gigs.

     

    the mars volta live is a funny thing. the quality seems to entirely depend on what mood they are in. i have seen them three times, and if i hadn;t known it was the same band each time i wouldnt have been able to guess. once time was mellow and almost boring, one was weird and frenetic and once was something in between.

    iknow how you feel flink. I think the majority of people I know have either asked or implied that I am gay at one point (my mum even asked me a while back which was awkward).

     

    Obviously i dont have an issue with people being gay and I have/had had gay friends, but it's frustating when people assume it about you simply because you don't sleep around and hit on every girl you see.

    Explosions in the Sky! Life would be worth so much less without that band.

     

    Regina Spektor certainly makes me much happier too. And the memories Mastodon, Oasis and The Mars Volta bring me makes them pretty indispensible too.

     

    Explosions are the big ones though. Life would hurt alot more with out them, and they provided my official 'happiest ever moment' at All Tomorrow Parties in May. Man, I love them too much.

    saw baby mama today. I love tina fey, so 8/10. if it wasn't tina fey it's probably be 6.5/10

     

    saw the dark night on sunday. absolutely blew me away. the story was great, all the acting (not just ledger) was good and it just looked stunning. I was astonished, i was hoping maybe for 8/10, but thought i was being optimistic, but this is 9.5/10

    ok day today. i saw Baby Mama. nearly two hours of tina fey = wonderfull. the film was pretty good, some very funny moments.

     

    then i rang my mum. Speaking to my mum has become the single most depressing thing i can do at the moment. She knows I'm feeling down about my life, so she points out my failings and all the things that have gone wrong for me, and worse makes it all seem my fault. I can't stand speaking to her any more, i think i'm going to not answer the phone for a while.

    i bought a new dvd player from tesco, only £25 but it plays divx and took about 3 minutes to find a multi region hack, so i'm very pleased with it.

     

    thanks to the bargains thread i also bought boom blox, which looks great fun. i have a feeling i'll regret it at the end of the month though!

     

    oh, and i got a ticket to a preview screening of the new hell boy film for next tuesday :) Guillermo Del Torro ftw

    Wow, I always said to myself I only want one tatoo, and I said that I'd get a tree too, or something like a leaf, that natural feel! But I'm impressed, and I like :D

     

    cheers :) This is the first time i've shown anyone the design, after 2 years of thinking about it. iu just need to find the right tree now and find someone to draw it. i dont know if this is how it's normally done, but I want a proper artist to draw it so I can get used to it first, and once if perfected then give it to the tattooist - no way am I giving him any leniency. Well maybe I would for Paul A. Romano. He could colour all of me in as I know he'd do a good job!

    i want a tattoo. There is a design I have had milling round my head for a couple of years now, and it's really starting to take shape. I want it on the inside of my left forearm, starting an inch or so above the wrist (so it can be hidden under a shirt at work) and go most of the way to the elbow.

    i'm looking to find the right tree. When I find it i'll take some pictures and get an artist to draw me a mock up. I also want the tree to have roots, that are quite tangled, possibly going all round my wrist, with the following symbol 'hidden' amoung the roots:

    I'm not sure about the birds yet, about if I want them flying away or towards the tree, but I want them spiralling up my arm (only one revolution), to just below my shoulder.

    i'm a bit of a mix.

    On my dads side of the family they are all very english.

    Mums side is a different matter though.

    She was born in south africa. Her mum was born in norway and her dad was born in india. Theres also a bit of scottish (my great grandad (possibly great great) on my mums side is Abram Lyle of Tate and Lyle) and some irish too. Probably other bits too, my mums side of the family is a major mess.

    noes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    3 lights red ring of death on my xbox. and my other dvd player is also broken. i need to think of a solution soon or i'm going to have to socialise with my house mates. i have been dependant on my xbox as a dvd player since i moved.

    i just applied for a new job!

    I have been in my current job for 8 months now, and the longer i stay with the company the worse I realise they are. I have applied for a really good role with my old company. Only problem is that the job is in cheltenham and i live in birmingham. But I'm sure a way can be found if i get it.
