  1. Creed

Definitely gonna watch it. I love all the films despite them not all being great so this is a no brainer.
  2. Xbox One Console Discussion

That Arkham article wasn't by me lol....(off the record I also don't agree)
  3. Batman: Arkham Knight

Oh ok hmmm maybe have to give it a second look.
  4. Xbox One Console Discussion

I haven't but it's next on my podcast playlist so will be giving it a listen very soon. I'm very interested in listening to Peter Moore as I know less about that era due to owning a PS3. I know the red ring stuff happened but less about how it was addressed etc... I totally agree about Phil Spencer I think this console generation would be very very different if he had been in charge from the beginning. He just gets it. Imagine him turning Nintendo round the way he has the one. I still enjoyed the conference commentating I feel like they were cynical about the things that deserve it and they did get excited where it was more deserved. There is way too much over hyped coverage and they give that much more grounded opinion. Having said that though the clear highlight of their output for E3 was those late night shows (although watching them live was painful due to the long gaps between segments) In other news and a bit of shameless plug I started as a Staff Writer at Pure Xbox http://www.purexbox.com it would be cool if people who are looking for more xbox coverage and such like came and took a look.
  5. We Happy Few

I wish I knew if this would run....no point on backing on PC as I'm unsure!
  6. Hotline Miami

I simply had to start a thread for this game. Here's Giant Bomb's page on the game; http://www.giantbomb.com/hotline-miami/61-39452/ Here is a video of it: Still here? So yeah basically it's a top down shooter that's more like a puzzler. You're almost encouraged to die to try out new things, the fact that is has super quick restarts encourages this. It's fucking brutal in a Drive kind of way, it has a cool soundtrack, it's the second game to feature a Delorean this year...did I mention it has talking animals, hallucinations, a NES, pizza, booze. It's available to buy on Steam and GOG and implore everyone who wants something a little different to try it. Sure it has crude graphics but there is a certain charm to it. I'm two chapters from the end and maybe put in about 2 and half hours/3. So much fun and definitely a contender for GOTY up there with The Walking Dead and Journey for me. Don't believe me? Check out the metacritic page: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/hotline-miami and some quotes: Giant Bomb Edge Magazine Gamer.nl
  7. Hotline Miami

Yeah I have to be honest this is what stopped me from playing. Whilst the first game seemed to progressively get harder in a more organic situational way the second games solution is just more guns and open spaces. I will go back to it one day.
  8. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Until right now...I actually forgot they had announced he was in the game. I'm assuming I didn't get to that point yet.
  9. Batman: Arkham Knight

I got stuck on that same part so yeah just crack on with the story and all will make sense...actually one of my favourite missions so far just for certain cut scene.
  10. The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes

I've read you can have two local players and one online if that helps you at all... See can that work like Lost Vikings? With everyone sharing hearts boss battles could potentially being a nightmare unless they abandon that for single player.
  11. Heroes Reborn

    holy shit...I had no idea
  12. The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes

Anyone seen any footage of single player and how it works? Not managed to find any despite my fashion misgivings I did enjoy Four Swords in single player and with some travel planned in December this might be a good game.
  13. Batman: Arkham Knight

I'm beginning to feel the same about the Bat-Tank as well. It's like they decided the Batmobile was really cool to have in the game but then also realized it doesn't traditionally (in Comics, TV and Movies) do what they wanted it to do, hence the birth of the Bat-Tank in all it's strafing glory. I'm coming round to it's use for sure and especially as I'm getting further into the game and there is more of the regular Arkham experience.
  14. Her story

I played this pretty much all the way through last night. I have a few clips left unearthed that I'm going to go back and try and find tonight. It's very very interesting as an experiment of story telling. I'm always fascinated by unreliable narrators. There is a twist kind of which is kind of insane and I guess the non-linear nature of it may mean you stumble upon it earlier or later than I did but just as I was starting to piece together things it really hit me for six. In terms of the "end"
  15. Star Fox Zero

Yep having played Star Fox 2 I'll acknowledge it is refinement of that.
  16. Star Fox Zero

I genuinely enjoyed Command...at least it was trying to so things that felt fresh and new with plot mapping stuff and turn based mechanics, but yes there was something to do with fish...and Fox's kid and Starwolf turns good or some crap. However Slippy got to marry this sexy lady so it's not all bad....
  17. Let's talk about this place.

I don't think your in a better position to judge the variety of a console just by owning them, I do however agree with you that an amazon search doesn't provide the best reference point either. If someone was to compile a comprehensive list of all physical and digital games for each system I'd feel that a judgement on variety could still be made. I've never understood the Nintendo boards lashing out exactly as you described. It only seems to flow that way...for example I owned a PS3 and despite having a number of users on here enjoyed numerous online sessions with you don't see them bashing me because I got an Xbox One and that I remain adamant to this day that there are currently more games on Xbox One I like than PS4. However if I dared to say the Xbox One had better variety than Wii U (whether it does is neither here nor there) I know I'd been slaughtered!
  18. Let's talk about this place.

You know what I long since lost my patience with this place. I've taken the time to write lengthy replies and have a balanced debate only to find they get deleted amongst it all. It's largely got to the point where I wonder why I bother posting. I'm not wholly negative Nintendo wise just I do have an alternative as somebody who grew up and desperately wants to have a reason to enjoy Nintendo's output again. Now I just go into threads to make quick quips like I did in Triforce Heroes...it's really weird to me that it's set in a world obsessed with fashion so I said so. I'm not gonna take any time to write at great length any of my issues with the game as a whole because I know I'm going to get shot down so again what's the point? I've been told on more than one occasion that I don't have a Wii U so I have no right to comment which is why I only really write on 3DS threads (a recent exception being StarFox a franchise I love). I mean who says that? It's funny as well there is a sentiment I've held in real life, that when people make personal insults the insulter rarely remembers the insult, it's the person being insulted that gets really hurt and holds that emotion over the incident. The person who throws the insult only ends up remembering the events around it and thinks "oh I was right" it's a form of confabulation to a large extent something we all suffer from. All I know is that I've been personally insulted by multiple users for airing a different opinion, I've had very few if any actual apologies, many of these posts have been lost to time. I've had other members leap to each others defense in the pursuit of facts and outright tell me I'm wrong and if it wasn't for a few select members sending me PMs on here to say don't worry about it and kind of back me up in private I would have long since left this community completely. I've been around here since the beginning (as flameboy and before under a previous guise) and whilst I don't think that means I should be treated in any special way it does hurt that I feel I'm not treated with basis respect like you would someone you know in everyday life. I don't feel like it's always been the case here and that's why I always loved N-E, but hey I suppose the internet is a venomous place. (Also I'd say people that have issues use the ignore button I've used it as a means of self preservation for quite some time now)
  19. Batman: Arkham Knight

Yep agreed. I'm thinking how good some of the puzzles were in past games!
  20. Metroid Prime: Federation Force (3DS)

I think I wouldn't mind so much if this was called Metroid; Federation Force. Metroid due to the breadth of titles we already seen in the series Prime (with Hunters as a solid offshoot of that from what I understand), Other M would perhaps fit that. However this is simply not a Prime in any way other than it's first person (is that enough?). Reggie seems horribly misguided in his defense of the game; I don't think that the art style is the only issue here. At it's core Wind Waker was still a Zelda game. This really isn't a Metroid Prime game, our first look at it was as some weird gun football/soccer hybrid. As I think I said here or maybe it was the Starfox thread...I'm all for games that diversify a franchise but it needs to be in meaningful ways and for me this isn't it. It loses the spirit of what makes a Metroid Prime game that series. I really feel sorry for Next Level Games in all this, they are a quality developer who have shown the talent to take franchises and bring them up to the next level (urgh I just realised what I wrote then), look at Luigi's Mansion 2. Fantastic game that really developed the ideas of the first game across a much more ambitious title. It remains to date one of my favourite 3DS games.
  21. The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes

Except from Kotaku interview; I'm sorry what? The Legend of Zelda; Kardashian Heroes....
  22. Xbox One Console Discussion

See that's on a game per game basis. I've had The Witcher let me know a new update has downloaded and will be applied next time I boot the game. It's really weird that a first party title like Halo had those problems...but then again that game had a lot of problems in general.
  23. Batman: Arkham Knight

Yeah that's the thing it's not necessarily bad just not what the majority of us are looking for in this series.
  24. Batman: Arkham Knight

It's got to rank up there as one of best tutorial but not a tutorial there's ever been? Was really impressed how they pretty seamlessly managed to incorporate it in. As for game itself I'm about 4 hours in and really enjoying it. I've found the shoehorning of the Batmobile slightly annoying. Whilst there can be no denying its really cool and the way batman enters and exits. There also been some nice uses for the Batmobile's other functions for example if I say "the lift" people will know what I'm getting at. However the constant tanks stalking the streets are not particularly entertaining. Also some sections feel very much like they have been created purely to justify it's inclusion. For example why the hell is the tunnel down to the police parking lot area so damn long! I'm hoping as the game goes on there are plenty of the traditional inside areas that we've grown accustomed to in the past games. Whilst people always hold up Asylum as the better out of the previous games I've always thought City did a fantastic job of mixing the two gameplay styles. I hope this doesn't lose too much of that.
