  1. I guess I've been known to go to college fairly regularly, does that count?

.. It's quite sad when I think that I don't seem to have any hobbies - I haven't played my GameCube since Metroid 2 came out (didn't even complete it) and don't watch TV anymore either.

I guess I like my movies, but since returning to college I've not seen too many, and similarly I've slowed down with the reading.

Ok, I'm going to go take a shit and read Catcher in the Rye again. Not all of it. BRB!

  2. .. I was going to make a thread where all teh relpies had to have 15 characters maximum, but I figured it wouldn't go too well.

So here, have this instead. I was pondering on it on my way home today.

Where can you get free cutlery?

I could think of two-and-a-half places.

Chippie for those little wooden forking things..

Sainsburies Salad Bar, just grab the sporks.

School canteens - once you get on site, you can theoretically pinch some cutlery, claiming to bring it back later.

I was also thinking about where to get free furniture, crockery, all sorts, but maybe i'll share that with you later.

ALSO: What's the best free thing you've ever recieved/found? I found this really cool jacket in a graveyard a few months back - gave it away to a mate as a leaving present :P

So yeah.. Any experiences? at all?

  3. hi lol. lol i like cheese lol. How are you i'm cold lol.

... People who talk like the above are just people who have no idea how to structure a sentance using real words in order to put a coherant point across. I have no problem with people who say lol to things which are supposed to be funny, really, as it's almost polite. Lol, to me, is basically internet smiling. Rofl's are reserved for real laughing, but generally I like to use a combination of CAPITAL LETTARS, poorly spelt words on purpose and exclamation marks to show my reaction! And stuff.

I think I'm developing an unhealthy habit of... typing too much.

  4. I've not heard any of the new album - didn't even know it existed. But Somewhere Across Forever was a great track, and of course My Coco lends itself to plenty of memories for me!

.. Kigan should be in this thread.

  5. Hooray for stereotypes!

No, seriously, where's the debate at? All I see are sweeping generalisations or statements of dubiously obvious nature.

No, seriously, I hate fucking emo kids. they're such nigger **** fags, who all have down syndrome - and if they don't I want to break their legs WITH MY AIDS STICK.

No, seriously, anyone who oppresses a harmless* minority group are throwing away their own right to equal treatment from me. What exactly is it that makes you so right and anyone else so wrong? THAT is my point, the necessity to see and accept that other ways of life, other cultures, styles, laws, trends, other basic ethical practices exist all over the place.

No- SERIOUSLY. I don't have a problem if your belief is that someone elses beliefs (and that encompasses all those other words i just listed up there) are WRONG, I have a problem with the way you go about expressing this opinion. Perhaps some will see this post as, to cite an earlier comment, a rather melodramatic retort to this entire thread. Perhaps some are thinking that, jeez, it's just a joke - no need to take it so hard. Well if any of you actually knew me, you'd know that my username is a damn lighthearted view of my self, unfortunately the username comes with some prejudices attached.

I'm getting about as tired of writing this as you are reading it, so i'll shup now.

    *Self-harm doesn't count.

  6. If you like Panic! At the Disco you should check out The Acadamy Is..., they're touring together as we speak. TAI's best song is Classifieds if you just want a taster, and it's a tasty one I guarentee.

  7. A2 doing English, Psychology and Law.

Fun.. yeah right. I get 2 essays to do a week. It's bloody annoying.

a whopping TWO a week?! Wow, poor you.

I do english A2, psychology AS, psychology A2 and philosophy & Ethics AS. I get at least 5 essays a week.

  8. Bah... did no one even read my previous comment?

    Just incase:

    Happy?

Oi, no double-standards on hypocracy, ok! You say you like some emo music but hate all emo mentalities, right? Well isn't the music a product of an emo mentality? Then surely you like some emo mentality too?

disregarding the fact that Fall Out Boy hate to be considered Emo, and in fact half of their stuff takes the piss out of teh scene, of course.

Thing with having a name like this is you feel like you have to defend things, even if you actually know very little about the subject :P What I need is a name and a number..

Check out Senses Fail - The Irony of Dying on your Birthday. You won't like it, but do it anyway.

(apologies for de-railing this coolsome thread)

  9. uh... Ok so i just searched the forum for posts on Final Fantasy: Advent Children and after this thread came up, read it and found that little had been said about it..

BUT i'll add to it anyway.

Someone mentioned a lack of story line.. The way I see it (after watching the film several unsober times) is that it's not so much a lack of story, more a lack of convention. Each time i've watched it i've understood something better. There's such beauty in teh presentation, in the interaction of colour elements - something I never noticed in teh game. The subtitles weren't the best in teh world which couldn't have helped understanding, but the film is pretty cool. The first time I watched it I didn't think much but now.. now I just love it.

Mainly I;m just wondering if many people have seen it? I love how the limit breaks and levelling-up are apparant, how clearly the character's moves are getting better each time.. awesome. I wish I could play the game now, as I never really got into it the first time around.

  10. wtf Jordan.. EMOFACE!

    ..anyway..

Album:If i can't make a compilation it would either be The Used - The Used, Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American, or (most likely considering the person I'm choosing) Brand New - Deja Entendu, or maybe as a rank outsider Kings of Leon - Aha Shake Heartreak, if indeed I've gotten the name right.

Food: An unlimited supply of chicken fajitas sounds appealing.. But i think it's safe to say I'd rather have an unlimited supply of Subway Melts with chilis and salad and honey-mustard, footlong of course. MMmmm!

Book:Maybe Martin Amis - Money just due to the sheer amount of stuff to work with if i wanted to study it, or probably My Psychology text book because I really should get around to reading it.

Person: will be my beautiful girlfriend.. :D She loves geology and geography and would totally love the island. And she likes scrabble.

And maybe for the sake of it?

Game: Blast Corps on the N64

    Board Game: Scrabble?

Film: If there was copious amounts of ganja on my island, probably the new Final Fantasy: Advent Children movie... It's totally DEEP. The colours.. the.. the bloodlines, the light/dark thing, the whole eastern fable thing and aaaah!

Forumer: Shorty wooooo! Might need to change the n64 game to perfect Dark... but he'd probably have that on his list of thigns to take so it's ok.

  11. MacBeth wouldn't have killed no-one if the idea of power wasn't put into his head -- But if his mind wasn't already twisted then surely no words would have corruped his loyalty? It's an observation of Man's thirst for power. It's an observation of how weak we are... Everyone has a weakness, and that weakness will lead to your downfall.

Also Lady Macbeth can be inserted to the equation. zing.

Sure, quoting's all well and good, but don't let them take over your essay. A good essay flows as if it could be spoken, no dis-joints confuzzling things. So long as the reader gets your point you don't need to use every quote in the book. Usually if you read something you'll find certain quotes strike you, you'll naturally remember these, as they are obviously workable quotes. Of course, finding quotes with meaning is all groovy too. But takes effort.

    yeha shuo.

  12. Catholics believe, in effect, that every ejaculation should lead to a child. Your sperm is there so that it one day becomes a lil' person. What's worse, killing a man or killing an unborn man?

Which is why contraception isn't allowed, nor abortion. The act of sex is supposed to be god's way of producing more minions and it's not supposed to be up to us whether we create life or not, y'know? It might seem irrational to some (or most) but once you get your head around the idea that these people believe that big G is in charge then it's not too hard to accept.

    So basically, christians are masochists.

    *giggles*

  13. ... Have you even read the book yet?

I mean, this is a discussion board, if you at least put accross your opinion then you'll generate a much healthier response, y'knowattimean?

  14. uhm.. I'd like one too plz :P Clearly at the bottom of a major list, i guess i won't get one.

If you actually want a pic and some details onme (because you don't think you know me..) then i'll post something later. If you can't be arsed to read later in teh thread then just do me as a generic emo dude with blonde hair and glasses.

  15. .. And now I know how my mother feels.

I mean, you can see that in the next generation it'll be things like this that provide entertainment for the masses, something that little bit more immersive. Like my mother before me, I won't trust them and I wouldn't like my kids using them unless i knew more about the affects -- Like how me mum is with computer games, the internet, mobile phones; she thinks they're all bad for me.

So yeah, this thread makes me not look forward to being old, abstractly.
