Honestly! How do you want me to respond to this? Yes I believe that both Microsoft and Sony don't make innovations with their hardware.

They really don't. Dazzybee is spot on. Sony just release a new console with better graphics every generation. Their controller is a SNES pad, move is a wiimote. Their disc drive lasers wear out quickly, the PS2 only has 2 controller ports! Microsoft are exactly the same... kinect was only created on the back of the wii and the reason it's not up to scratch is because it's just a bad idea badly implemented. The only game where kinect is any good is Just Dance. As for specs, the wii didn't need then because motion gaming was so innovative. Yes it would have been nice if thw Wii was as powerfull as PS3 or 360, but games like Tiger Woods were so much better on Wii it proved beyond doubt that great gameplay will always be more important than great graphics. It's such a stupid train of thought to suggest Nintendo should quit the hardware business because their games don't look as good. Why don't Microsoft quit because their games don't play as good and more importantly their fucking hardware does not even work properly.

had a bit of multiplayer wii sports resort bowling in the office this afternoon, really got me hyped for online. for all our bitching and moaning there are a fucking lot of games out between now and christmas

I couldn't care less if Wii U sells more than PS4 or XB1, but I am deeply concerned that if sales don't pick up fast, 3rd party support will cease completely. With regard to all the talk about Nintendo's finances, you all seem to be to forgetting about 3DS and to a lesser extent Wii. Yes Wii U sales are poor but overall Nintendo are shifting more hardware than Sony or Microsoft.

will all you guys pretty much stop playing Black Ops2 as soon as this comes out? I never really got into it, played a few games online although my boy is addicted to it, he'll be playing on the gamepad with his headphones on and suddenly shout out "Dad, MarioLost is online" which always makes me chuckle. But back on subject, do I need to get this at launch to avoid missing out on some clan action with the N-E gang, and should I trade on Black Ops2? Much Love

@aneres I'm in your camp. Have played and loved numerous Zelda games but actually only finished Wind Waker and OOT on 3DS. My advice would be that Wind Waker is much easier to complete than others. That f*****g water temple in OOT was beyond infuriating. My personal view on the cost of Wind Waker HD is if you did not play the original then £40 is fair enough. I personally won't be buying it at that price. Zelda games don't have much replay value, so I'm sure there will be plenty of used copies available before too long.

Sorry, but I'm being a lazy git, as I could find this out with a bit of research. I am interested in preordering a PS4, but flatly refuse to pay for online play. I know Sony have a subscription package, do I need this to play online or is this for extra services. Cheers bluds

They mention the backwards compatibility of the controllers and that's something they should be hammering home. People keep going on about the PS4 only being £100 more than Wii U. That's complete nonsense. When you factor in extra controllers and online play the cost difference suddenly becomes huge. And when PS4 and XB1 launch Nintendo should be shouting this from the rooftops. This Christmas is very much the last chance saloon for Wii U. They can compete with the next gen consoles as the majority of the big releases are also coming to Wii U, but have the backwards compatibility, costs and in-house titles as a trump card. I fear that next Christmas the only games we will see are in-house if Nintendo don't rescue Wii U.

AC3 is always available somewhere for under £15, every time I see it i go to buy it and then remind myself that I have not even started Zombie U, Darksiders 2, Batman, Lego City or Black Ops 2. I really need to get these games done especially the ones that have sequels coming out soon.

it's actually cheesed me off watching that video again. I was so excited by the golf game with the gamepad showing your lie and why has that great aiming feature not been used in COD to really show the Wii U difference. GGggrrrr!!!

What did we all want from Wii U? We wanted to play the great Nintendo games from Wii in HD, which we got or are getting. A console will have a 5 year life span, so whilst we all want to play Mario Kart and Smash Bros etc right now a little patience is required, it's not like they are not coming. We wanted straight ports of the best 3rd party releases and not dumbed down versions. We got this at launch and we are getting most of the big games this Christmas. FIFA and Tiger Woods is a disappointment to me, but we were never getting GTA5. There has always been a trade off with a Nintendo console in that for all the great Nintendo games, we will miss out on a few other franchises, but that's the same for Playstation and Xbox. The game pad argument is plain stupid in my opinion. Nintendo has always launched a console with a new controller, the game pad has some great features, none more so than off screen play. Yes it's made the console more expensive, but it's still cheap in the grand scheme of things and certainly a lot cheaper than PS4 and XB1 are going to be. Seriously, did we really want to just see Nintendo just bring out the same controller again like Sony & Microsoft do with every console?

Grand Slam Tennis really was a brilliant game as was Tiger Woods 10 onwards. Just shows what we are missing with EA, in fairness they really did support the Wii with great games, well apart from when they turn their servers off after a year the fcuking cnuts. Honestly! How can one company be so brilliant and so utterly retarded all at the same time.

whilst excited about the prospect of online bowling, tennis, golf etc. The pics I have seen are underwhelming. I was expecting the tennis to look more like Grand Slam Tennis. The image I saw didn't look any different to the original Wii Sports. Given how we are not likely to get another 3rd party sports game on the Wii U ever again, i think the very least Nintendo could do is give us a half decent in-house effort. I mean the graphics on the Wii version were a generation out of date, but we forgave it because the motion control element was the key factor and it was kind of a demo. But this is Nintendo's HD console and we already know about motion control so as far as I am concerned this needs to be a proper game.

online 4 player bowling is worth the entry price alone They need to make golf special as we are not getting Tiger Woods and the same goes for tennis. But again, online will make this incredible. 4 player Tiger on the Wii was as good as gaming gets. if you are Nadal then I am Sampras and Agassi's love child. Think I might have to fire up Grand Slam tennis tonight, forgot just how much I love that game. Probably about 2 people still playing this online :-( Anyway, bring it YYG.

i really don't get all this drop the price nonsense. £199 for the premium console with a game is a bloody steal. There are so many great bargains to be had with the Wii U at the moment it's ridiculous.

my xbox 360 owning neighbor popped in at the weekend whilst my boy was playing this and he commented how bad the graphics were compared to the 360 version. I was under the impression that the Wii U version at the very least would as good as the other versions. Anybody played both who can give an insight into this, not sure if my neighbor was just being a fanboy.

what a bizarre window. 2 best strikers went to France, which has to be a concern for the Premier League especially as Bale has moved abroad. Let's be honest there is a real lack of homegrown talent at the moment and our top teams are reliant on the best foreign players to compete in Europe. If these players are no longer coming to the Prem and our best players are leaving it's a worrying sign. Look at out top teams transfer business: Man Utd - Best English player wants to leave, signed a good midfielder. Man City - Have made a host of what looks to be good signings, offloaded a couple of old duffers ( just typing this makes me realise just what good business they have done actually) Chelsea - Signed a lot of attacking midfielders, without really improving their squad Arsenal - Broke their transfer record on a position they already have loads of good player, with a player who was being unloaded by his club. Spurs - Lost their best player, but at least used the money well. Liverpool - A few average/good signings, but their best player wants to leave.

the fact that it has a game pad would indicate they were aiming at the tablet generation and without knowing I would hazard a guess that tablets, which sell for a lot more than a Wii U sell in the hundreds of millions, so it's a logical business plan, tag on Nintendo stalwarts like us and good percentage of Wii buyers and it all makes perfect sense. It launched with COD and FIFA and a bunch of "hardcore" games so they really did have all bases covered. Sure DLC was missing but then there were game pad extras that needed adding to these games so you can forgive them for that. I think that Wii Sports HD and a focus on motion controls would do it the world of good, I'm sure a lot of people are totally unaware that you can still play using motion controls on Wii U which is the reason they bought a Wii in the first place. It's not that it wasn't aimed at anyone, it was aimed at everyone and maybe that was the problem, they didn't target one particular audience.

The problem we have here is because the Wii U has not sold, everybody is playing the blame game and the game pad seems to be chief culprit. Ask yourselves this question, if the Wii U had sold the numbers people were expecting, would you all be on here moaning about the game pad? It's all very hypothetical as to why the Wii U has not shifted the numbers expected, but the bottom line is we have a console that launched with a strong third party line up, has access to a huge back catalogue of Wii games, has free online gaming and has three different control options in the wiimote, pro controller and game pad. If you don't like the game pad, use the pro controller, but it's certainly nice to have the option and anybody who has a Wii U will tell you that the ability to play off screen is priceless and for me personally games like multiplayer local COD are so much better with a game pad instead of using split screen.
