A new form for Lycanroc was announced, Dusk Lycanroc.

That angle makes it look like a palette swap...

It was revealed prior to Ash getting one in the Japanese anime next week. So just like Ash Greninja, that makes this form automatically the worst one.

Remember kids, Ash's Pokemon are never cool.

Seriously though, it's meant to be a kind of middle ground between the two, but I think it looks way more like Midday Form than Midnight Form. I prefer Midnight still, awful stats and all.

To be fair, it's not Ash-Lycanroc.

  2. Thanks guys :) Had a good day. Went out Pokémon GO hunting with Marti and finally got an Articuno, with just three days to go

Got a good haul of presents.

    From Marti:

And most notably, from my parents and something I'm sure @Cube will appreciate...

It's great news. Hopefully they can start to meet the demand a bit better over the second half of the year though. My friend's family wants to buy a Switch for their 10 year old's birthday but can't find one anywhere, all of the sites are either out of stock or have a note saying they expect stock in mid August, hopefully they can find one from somewhere.

Did we get any indication how many copies BOTW has sold on Wii U?

All we know is that it's under 2.21 million

The game doesn't make things bigger or smaller depending on how far away the backdrop is does it? If you pointed that at the floor it would look 5cm tall.

Not yet, but with the ARKit in iOS 11, it will :)

  5. I wasn't intending on getting the Splatoon amiibo, but my girlfriend accidentally ordered 2 sets (she forgot to cancel the GAME ones) so I bought them off her...

    I have too many

Honestly, I've pretty much stopped watching the MCU shows at this point, as the shifts in quality - even in the Netflix shows, in my opinion - are all over the place: Agents of Shield got nowhere very fast after a somewhat interesting first season; Jessica Jones never really did it for me; Luke Cage was enjoyable; Iron Fist was dreadful imo; and I still contend that Daredevil S1 is the best any of these shows have ever been, whilst S2 was a not-as-good, but an enjoyable, follow-up. I never really got into Agent Carter, either...

I'll be honest, I'm somewhat concerned about the state of the MCU's TV presence; it hasn't lived up to its promise at all, in my opinion, which amazes me considering that comic books are arguably a better fit for a TV show than a movie, and yet I find that I'd much rather rewatch any of the MCU movies - even Iron Man 3 - than commit to watching one of these shows after how hit-and-miss they've turned out to be.

At the very best, I hope that The Defenders is good, and I have zero expectations for Inhumans

Dude, Agents of SHIELD gets so good.

Season 4 is one of the best seasons of superhero shows ever to exist

There was a Eurogamer article prior to the Switch launch which made the point that Nintendo simply don't care about things like party chat, game invites and multiplayer connectivity like the others do. It's just not in their DNA and never likely to be.

I think the switch, the app and the way it works just proves that point. Multiplayer experiences with friends is an afterthought for Nintendo. Yes they make it possible but it's bare bones and done with as little effort as possible.

    Ironically it's in DeNA's DNA

Also, Multiplayer experiences with friends are the core aspect of Nintendo's strategies. They just prefer people to play locally

Can't you see? This is how they move away from the bulky headset situation.

(sorry, guys. This Nintendo online fiasco is absolutely hilarious to me :p )

You know that's a third party solution right? :p

Nintendo's solution is just a phone

I think anyone who knows what Nintendo is about can understand why they've gone down the app route. I've left them my feedback in the app, I hope they'll consider the suggestions I made. I mean, look at how the Switch looked on May 3rd compared to how it looks now, in three and a half months it's gone through some pretty decent changes and added some functionality. The app will look completely different by the time the paid service launches. In six months time, I'm sure I'll be sat with a glass of sancerre, nostalgically flicking through the now bookmarked pages of unbridled outrage, still failing to understand how Nintendo's biggest critics are often the ones that throw the most money at them.

I get why they brought it out now. It's just so unfortunate that it's not the full package and has those two major issues.

I just don't get how they brought DeNA in and this happened

    Some highlights from NeoGaf.

So this is where we are before the app has even officially launched.

Looking forward to those record Splatoon 2 sales and massive number of people signing up to the paid online service when it launches.

Nintendo do need to sort elements of this out. Make it so the app doesn't kill it when certain things come up and so forth.

I do get why they've gone the app route, but they need to improve the app considerably. It's not as doomsaying or "backwards" as people make it out to be

  11. I do completely understand why this stuff is shifted away from the Switch and into the app. I mean it's ridiculous but I get it. They just needed to make sure the app proved its worth and, unfortunately, it's not the case right now.

Everything else about the Switch's online is fine with me though
