Well we know its about a hitman who wants to become the best. Granted we don't know anything about the gameplay, but it's aloud to rest on the laurals(?) of Killer 7. My bet is we'll see some WiiMote "Beam Katana" fighting.

What does Kojima have to gain from putting Snake in Smash Bros. I thought more than anything he was doing a favour for Nintendo. If anything Nintendo owe him one. I know you're thinking of the quote where it said that Kojima wanted Snake to be in Smash Bros. But all I can see is that Nintendo profits from it.

The problem with the Wii, which also happens to be its strength, is that it's different from your traditional console. That "wow factor" you talk of will come through 1:1 control of a sword or striking a home run. And thats great. But just because the Wii is different it doesn't mean people still don't like the old style of games. And so that's where the PS3 and 360 come in. They'll provide that graphical factor you want. The Wii will be your second console. So yes you'll have either pick one, or buy both. Its not the perfect situation, but that's capitalism. Oh and gimmiky games are always going to be a problem. Its just one of the hardships we'll have to endure.

Dante, you're a legend. This is my No.1 anticipated game. My only hope is that it is as deep as Killer 7.

If there is a launch where I want more than three of the games then I consider it a good launch. 3 games is enough at launch to sustain to the next batch of launch window games. There are 5 I want there, so I consider it a great launch.

There was no hype surrounding Star Wars DS. In fact we all new it was crap.

Alright I thought I might interject here, and give my two cents. I'm an atheist, and a strong one at that. I have some strong views on religion, what it is and what it does, but i'm not going to say them here, because I don't want to offend any of you, I quite like you all afterall. However I will say one thing. Although it is many a thing, one thing religion is, is human instinct. Mankind naturally feels a need to believe in something bigger than itself, protect it, worship it, unify under it, so that it can feel a sense of place and importance. However this can manifest itself in bad ways, that's obvious. The big two, religion and patriotism are the main culprits. What do I do? I'm here, on these boards talking about games. Sure it's not the most exciting of hobbies, but it occupies my time. So what has this got to do with the East. Well unless you can get them all to take up Ping-Pong, nothing. The East is tricky. Personally I think the Pope was wrong to use those comments, but at the same time the reaction could have been a little calmer. But this tension is going to go on for a while yet. I don't really know what the point of this post was. I guess i'm just trying to say that if we all spent our time playing Halo instead of worshiping some immortal being then the only problem we'd have is a few winging n00bs. (The games are obviously just an example, i'm not actually proposing this as a feasable option).

All very true, but i'm thinking of this in a casual gamer perspective. What happens when the 12 year old with his 2000 Wii point gift card accidently downloads "rediculously text heavy Japanese RPG No. 347"? I'd love to download the Japanese games, i've been drooling over the idea of getting my hands on the more elusive Fire Emblems since the V.C.s announcement, but I reckon there is a reason behind this move (if such a move exists).

Okay maybe i'm just being stupid here but isn't that just to do with language? Yeah it'd prefer the thing to be region free. Though i'd be surpirised if Nintendo let it be. They can't afford piracy on the level Sony or Microsoft can.

A very good point. And ofcourse you're eventually going to get games on there, like the long lost Japanese Fire Emblems for example, that can cost you more than a new game. So I think we're getting a good deal.

Killer 7 always comes to mind when someone mentions story. The methods of finding out in Metroid Prime. Shenmue obviously, because you really lived the story. For some reason Halo struck a chord with me as well. Oh and the Fire Emblems, because the character's stories have always been brilliant.

I wonder if there's somewhere you can apply to be a rep. Then i'd be able to play the thing non-stop.

Two very good points. Its hard to see what's going to happen here. We haven't seen this much risk taking before in this business. And the difference with the DS is that it was in a market Nintendo that Nintendo already owned. This time Ninty ain't got that momentum on their side, they're starting on the back foot. I guess I forgot that the Wii still could be a complete failure. Okay I really gotta go to bed now.
