  1. Raining, Thanks for the screen shots. That pretty much confirmed the problem. You are able to get to the server but dns will not resolve for you. My hunch was that it was isolated between your isp and our 3rd party dns server. I implemented a workaround dns solution that won't have that problem. If you can get to our server you will be able to get to the site. That being said as Shorty mentioned DNS cache takes it's time sometimes. The problem will eventually fix itself for you. In the meantime you can access the site via http://ne.dnssite.net or switch to opendns or google's public dns. All which would help prevent problems like this for any other sites in the future.
  2. To those still unable to connect, have you attempted to go to the http://ne.dnssite.net link and see if that works when the other fails? We have made some dns changes in the last 12 hours that we believe should assist at least in part of the problem. For those unable to connect, are you running windows pc's? If so can you drop to a cmd prompt via start -> run -> cmd (enter) and then from the c:\> prompt type in "nslookup n-europe.com" (without the quotes) (hit enter) and copy/paste the results. If you could also do "tracert 67.228.47.236" and copy/paste the results. If this doesn't make since I can put some more detail into it. EDIT: Looks like the alt link was working for people. Keep in mind this is only temporary and that the normal url's should start working for everyone within the day. Switching name servers to things like google's is a workaround as well. The problem was between what we believe are mostly EU based connections and our 3rd party dns service. We have implemented a fix last night and it should take 12 hours for most people and up to 48 hours for others.
  3. hah, that can't be good. Database probably needs some optimize & repair to clean things up. Let me know if that doesn't fix it and I can try a repair from the server side.
  4. Glad I could help. Hope all stays working for you.
  5. Hello everyone.
  6. Wierd deal. Probably something with how vb 3.8 is handling something versus how 3.6 did. I bet it's something easy to fix we just need to create a support request with vB. Just bare with it for now, I have to go out of town. We will come back to it and fix it.
  7. I understand what is happening but am unable to reproduce it... I wonder what is unique about the people having the problem. Is it every thread or just some threads?
  8. I am not really sure how to reproduce that error. I tested it with my 40 posts per page and it took me to the last page and didn't have an option to do anything else. I then switched to the forum default and still didn't have the problem. Can someone screenshot the error for me?
  9. Can you explain exactly what you aren't able to do? I am not having any problems with that thread. I can browse through random pages, start page, end page, etc. Just trying to reproduce the error.
  10. Can you link me to the threads in question?
  11. I'm trying. It's really difficult to trouble shoot wierd stuff like this. No errors in the logs, no database errors, nothing... just random glitches... If what I just did doesn't fix it maybe the vBulletin upgrade will. EDIT: I just noticed a couple of other issues and adjusted some more settings, so anything after the current time 11:58 am CST
  12. Thanks for the information. Such a wierd thing to troubleshoot. I changed some more things around to see if it helps. Let me know if you get them after this post...
  13. I am pretty sure that issue is related to the database problems. However, the database shows to be in good health and someone just reported an issue, I don't know how recent that issue was. Either way, I plan on upgrading to the latest vbulletin version tomorrow.
  14. When did a page only half load? What page was it? Did you screen shot it? I appreciate you reporting it but with the information you provided I can't really do anything except "know" part of the problem still exists. What does a half load consist of, the page itself quit loading, or the content in it...
  15. That's a good sign. I made a ton of changes and the database has seemed stable for the last hour or so. I guess time will tell. I am going to bed, Ill check back in a couple of hours.
  16. Dammit Jim, I am a server admin not a programmer! I am better than any "team" though. =)
  17. I know what the problem is now, and I am doing all that I can to fix it. I apologize for the problems you have had over the last couple of weeks. I know how frustrating it can be. Hopefully things will improve here soon. Please pm me with pictures, the baby making can be arranged. =) hahah The core of the problem is the database instability. I have been constantly repairing it and it just goes right back into an unstable state shortly thereafter. I am not 100% sure why yet. It could just be a combination of the newer mysql/php versions and the older vbulletin forum software. Either way we will get it sorted out sooner or later. I am doing all that I can to try to get to the root of the problem. I have been working on it for the last 4 hours, it's been a struggle to say the least. We have an action plan so like I said already. Hopefully things get better. This sums it all up perfectly. I need to know not only what is happening but if it can be reproduced. The key really at this point is to find out how to bring stability to the database.
