  1. Y'kno, I'm very tempted to support @markderoos campaign and submit a vote for the almighty Wart! When does the ballot close?

On the site it says 03/10/2015.

Would that be 3rd of October then?

Perhaps NINTENDO will hold another Smash Tournament at E3 and announce the front runners so far?

    I'm still undecided.

My heart says Ridley, but my heart also says Paper Mario, Fawful, Count Bleck, Amaterasu, Rayman, Waluigi, King K. Rool, Wart, Wolf, Impa (Skyward Sword), Groose, Vaati, Linebeck, Tingle, Skull Kid, Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong, Professor Layton, Professor E. Gadd, Simon Belmont, Wonder Red, Goemon, Bomberman, 9 & 18 Volt, a Rhythm Paradise character, Takamaru, Sami or Grit (Advance Wars), Gandrayda or Ghor(Metroid Prime), and Boo.

    When?

Wasn't Endless Ocean 2 one of the few games that had online co-op with voice-chat?

I would love to take a relaxing dip in the Atlantic with fellow Nyurpers in a small team akin to Monster Hunter and discuss the finer points of plastic pollution while petting whales and fleeing from sharks.

  3. Onwards to the DS Zeldas now, I see.

Yes, all according to keikaku, very nice, very nice.

They were a strange bunch o' Zelda games, but valuable additions to the series.

Phantom Hourglass introduced us to the amazing Linebeck and Spirit Tracks poured even more character into the Zelda world by giving us a dead princess Zelda full of charm and sass, and an angsty Wolverine who turns sides.

To me, Spirit Tracks improved on Phantom Hourglass's story and world building and had much more character going on.

The villain, Chancellor Cole, really gave me a Majora's Mask vibe as well. Really fucked up dude.

I do, however, prefer a boat to a train, even though Phantom Hourglass's seas were no WindWaker's.

I really hope we'll get to see the cell-shaded style someday again, because it really lends itself perfectly to conveying emotions and quirk. And I loooove me some quirk:

  4. Ah yes, I see it's that time when we're experiencing the Zelda-cycle in full force again :D

Also, this was some of the worst animation I had ever seen in a Zelda game and I couldn't believe what was happening.

What otherwise usually is a great moment in a Zelda game, learning a new tune on your instrument or what have you, was a complete let down in this game for me.

    Unmemorable tunes and uninspired animation...

    Seriously, SERIOUSLY!

Just look at that Din's Power performance (1:10) and tell me what you feel inside...

    ------

Ah, I love me a good Zelda discussion.

It is hands down the only series I am pretty much up to date with (haven't finished Adventure of Link nor have I played the Four-Sword games) and I love its universe!

I guess because the WindWaker being one of my most nostalgic experiences, it cemented my quest for experiencing the franchise to its fullest.

It it almost time to list our top 3 Zelda games again?

  5. You know, I imported the OST (4CDs in total) about a year before I actually started playing the game, but didn't listen to it untill I had finished the game.

That's how sure I was about buying this game and experiencing it.

What are some of Nyurp's favourite tracks?

If you had to pick 1 or 2...

This month’s issue of Nintendo Force has revealed that Monster Tale is coming to the 3DS as “Monster Tale Ultimate”.

Monster Tale, a well-received 2D platformer for DS with Metroidvania and virtual pet elements, originally launched in 2011. The GAME had players taking on the role of a young girl named Ellie, who is lost in the Monster World. Ellie has two goals: find her way home, and save the Monster World with some help from her monster companion known as Chomp.

Monster Tale Ultimate is not a SIMPLE remake. DreamRift has gone back and touched up “every single aspect of the adventure”, according to Nintendo Force. That means improved visuals (thanks to new art assets), stereoscopic 3D support, rebalanced gameplay, and the ability to switch between a new orchestral soundtrack and the original chiptune music.

Note: screenshot is from the DS version

Regarding the gameplay, DreamRift is adding in new ROOMS and areas. Backtracking – a notable issue for some players in the original release – has been addressed thanks to a new shortcut between worlds. There has been a complete rebalance of all aspects of Monster Tale, though this doesn’t mean the GAME will be any easier.

    DreamRift’s Peter Ong said:

''A lot of the rebalancing has nothing to do with difficulty. [it] is instead about making the various components of the game more balanced in a manner that makes the game more strategically interesting.''

Monster Tale Ultimate is planned as a 3DS eShop exclusive for the time being. While DreamRift is open to a retail version, the studio would need to WORK with a publisher in order for that to be considered. The company may also work with a publisher for the eShop release depending on how things go.

Look for Monster Tale Ultimate this spring.

    AWESOME:yay:

I still have this written on my backlog list, because I never got round to buying it.

It's from the same team behind Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure an excellent platformer for the DS I'm sure most of you remember.

Really awesome they're reviving this for a new generation :D

If only they could do the same for ol' Henry, but that's probably more difficult since it was published by EA and I'm not sure if its creator has the franchise's creative rights.

  7. Absolutely great news, but those are some big words Aonuma is throwing around.

Still, I trust that this will be an amazing Zelda game since the hardware this time 'round has the potential to create a truly magical, adventurous Zelda game the likes of which we have never seen before.

It fills me with joy they're taking their time with this.

I just know it's going to give us that sense of adventure Windwaker gave us times 1000.

  8. It's not to the mass publics taste either.

Why do you have to manipulate people? Couldn't you just I don't know.....make a good product?

Why do you have to manipulate people?

Because Coca Cola and McDonalds, that's why.:heh:

A 'good' product does not equal interest in it by a lot of people since it's highly subjective. And also, since we are talking about luxury products, we are talking about 'wants' which can be constructed and deconstructed through advertising.

I am content with my WiiU though, my WiiU is good to me .

But I must agree that if it is NINTENDO's goal to cater to as many people as possible, certain 'things' that have been standard in this industry for years should become standard to them to if said goal is what they wish to attain.

It's easy to manipulate consumers when saying it'll do all these things but not really show it's OS prior to release so that the consumers are duped by these lies. It really is akin to false advertising. It's wrong.

I've learned my lesson at least and as a result Nintendo have lost another future sale. Given their sales record with WiiU you'd have thought they'd want to turn that around..?

Listen to Nyurp, listen to us :3

I'll let you know when voice-chat and passable online is present in a NINTENDO system.

Just give me those boxes to check and I'll let you know when the time comes :)

  9. Well in doing that they've almost certainly lost a customer in me for their next console... surely it wasn't his job to do that?

It just means NINTENDO hasn't made a product to your taste, which is only natural since different people have different tastes.

One can only manipulate a consumer so far...
