I haven't been going online with this for the past couple weeks because I seemed to be playing at times when nobody was around (aside from snagging a snowglobe from Rhys). I still haven't caught a coelacanth though, so I'd be interested in a fishing contest if anyone else has a snowstorm in their town. I haven't succeeded in making a perfect snowman yet, and my snow appears to be melting. I'd better get the hang of building them soon. I just had a villager move out for the first time. I didn't talk to Friga much, so now a weird monkey named Elise has taken her place. I wonder if any of you guys ended up with Friga--she and a couple of my other villagers were talking about people here. Also, Peggy sent me a letter asking me to come visit again. :P

Edd, I posted the pic on the stickied thread. You were lucky tonight! At least I caught a stringfish in my own town before coming online today. I'll hook a coelacanth yet. Great fun fishing in Yoochem's and Welsh_gamer's towns tonight, although I got disconnected towards the end of the session and lost all the fish and bells I'd gotten in Welsh_gamer's town. I couldn't seem to get back in again, so David and I went back to my town, but everyone else had disappeared and I had to go soon after that. Should be back online tomorrow though--I still want a coelacanth of my own!

So apparently when you've got a fish on the hook, it can still get away even if you keep holding the button down? First time I lost a fish that way instead of missing it due to my own twitchy trigger finger. Had a fun session trying to catch a coelacanth in Yoochem's town. Just before Yoochem left I saw a massive shadow in the ocean and tried to catch it, but midway through the struggle it just swam off. I swear it was a coelacanth. :P

Thanks for letting me stop by your town, Rhys. Nice whistling. :P Typing on the onscreen keyboard is pretty annoying though, it's awfully slow. Towards the end I kept pressing the shovel button reflexively when I was trying to bring up the keyboard, so sorry about those extra few holes, lol.

Ended up getting this and I've spent some time with it now. Definitely very relaxing; I think I could get into this over time. I've just been fishing and collecting bells to try and pay off my house. I missed Joan today though so I guess I'll have to just keep selling fish until next Sunday. I'm sharing my town with others in my family so I have to wait a while for Nook's Cranny to restock equipment. I've been donating all my fossils to the museum so far; I like seeing them appear in the display room and think it'll be cool when the dinosaur skeletons are complete.

Yeah, colors probably won't become available until they can at least keep up with the demand for the current Wii. The slick, clean white is the Wii's trademark look for now. I wouldn't be that excited about a black Wii personally. Black is overrated; we need some real colors, like an aqua blue or lime green. My forest green N64 controller has been with me for years.

Those game costumes are awesome. I really like the Link one. That shot of him in front of the gate and guards makes it look like Hyrule Castle got zapped into Animal Crossing or something. I've never played an Animal Crossing game and am considering picking this one up at a local store sometime after it comes out this Friday. I'm curious how many references to other Nintendo games are in it; apparently the first AC was full of them, and these costumes indicate that this probably is too.
