  1. lol. Good luck with that. I have a question that I forgot to ask after the demo: What the hell do you do with the Witch? Everytime I went a little bit near her or tried to shoot her to kill her she'd bolt after me and I'd be left dead because of the stupid AI not helping me. Is there an easier way to kill them, you know pipe bomb or molotov?

I kneed her in the balls and she fell over. Give that a try.

  2. I really dislike Louis Theroux, I think the subject matter of his documentaries are always interesting but I can't stand how he goes about it. He always plays this loveable slightly bumbling british guy role and I don't believe it for a second, he always comes of really patronising in my opinion. He never really discovers anything he just gets involved in something that seems weird to the majority of British TV-watchers, so it doesn't matter that he's achieved nothing because you've seen something exciting.

I wish I could back my opinion up with some insightful J7-esque knowledge but my writing skills teeter between Y6 and Doofus.

  3. Eddie Murphy has done hmmmm 5 good films...

    Beverly hills cop 1

    Beverly hills cop 2

    Coming to America

    Trading Places

    Shrek.

The rest is :shakehead . Done :)

5 good films? I think you're selling him a little short there.

    48 Hours

    Boomerang

    Metro

Life (wasn't amazing, but not that bad)

I-Spy (Underrated, an absolute gem if you like owen wilson)

The PJ's wasn't a film but it was well funny

  4. I prefer the Kings of Leon track so that gets my vote.

I just don't like Hallelujah that much, it goes on for too long (and the version on Shrek is better, whoever sings that).

The Rufus Wainwright version?? Urgh. Jeff all the way.

  5. Jurassic Park II

Not as good as the first, but a nice pr0 film nonetheless. Having the t-rex shit on everyone was a nice touch.

    Eight Shabba's

I really liked The Lost World, not as much of an impact as the first film but wisely they shifted the emphasis onto the best character in the first film. Goldblum is amazing, and the t-rex is awesome.

  6. Hmm, I haven't been on N-Europe for a good long while, shocking.

Today I had to get up super early to get into central london to put a deposit down on my new guitar. omgz, so beautiful.

Apart from that, college was cool, have to do some ludicrously complex stuff for my techniques exam, oh well, new guitarrrr <slobbers>

  7. I find with artists like Tori Amos people use lyrics as a defense. Arguing that deep and meaningful lyrics make it a better song. If I had written the best song in the world and conveyed a message as my own experiences and then later admitted it was made up would that make it a bad

    song?

You say metal songs usually have atrocious lyrics but thats because they are much more straight forward when compared to someone like Tori Amos i.e. hell, blood, the devil, dark imagery etc. It doesn't mean that if they aren't meaningful and personal they are worse lyrics, because it doesn't suit the style of music. As a fan of metal and in this case Slayer I want and expect this and the simple aggressive vocals are just an additional layer to the song. It shouldn't be seperated and analysed as Tori Amos did in the cover. "She made it her own", she removed a section of the song and warped it and this is seen as interesting why? It's hardly a cover, it's a more acceptable form of plagiarism.

i'm happy for lyrics to be open to interpretation but I can't see whats wrong with it being handed to you on a plate once in a while. Why should a thing of beauty have to have meaning? It's so self-indulgent to pedastalise your music taste because you have to think into it. I like it when people sing about Hell. And Blood. It fucking rocks.

  8. Tori Amos can go suck my balls, I can't stand anything I've ever heard of hers, and as my ex loved her I have heard far too much. I'll never forgive her for what she did to Slayer. Lyrics wise I love The Silver Jews. Some of my fave snippets are as follows.

New Orleans - "There is a house in New Orleans, not the one

you've heard about. I'm talking about another house."

Strange Victory, Strange Defeat - "What's with all the handsome grandsons

    In these rock band magazines?

And what have they done with the fat ones?

    The bald and the goatee'd?"
