New Legend of Zelda trailer!!! Real or hoax??
Invisible Painting replied to Foxfear's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah but, unless it's 100% 100%, people will be dissapointed. The more time you spend on a game the more hype will grow. 5 years, people will be expecting only the best, half a % less and people will see it as 'wasted potential'. Besides TP was a very good game, and I'd rather have a TP and a WW in 4 years then one 'ultimate' zelda in 5 years, especially when it might not even be that. But still TP and WW are still very good games, but if people always expect an OoT beater, then most of the time they're going to be dissapointed. And to make a very good Zelda game you don't need 5 years anyway. And yeah, why are some people obsessed with turning Zelda into Lord of the Rings. It's kinda against the point I personally don't think we'll see anything on Zelda at this years E3 either. -
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)
Invisible Painting replied to Ashley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah I played a couple of online games for the first time, it was quite slow, there was about a second gap between when I'd press the buttons and when they'd register on screen. I did two battles, then realised that playing the computer was just more fun. So I went back to that. -
Erm......suuuuuure. I suppose they may as well cash in on the superhero fad that's around at the moment with most of the summer blockbuster films. It kinda has potential but I will need to see a lot more before I'm convinced.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)

Yeah Toon Link I love, Link is a bit heavy in this game but Toon plays as a really light smooth bouncy version of him, it's really fun and quite easy, the flaws with Link are basically gone with him. Power might not be there, but his down A attack is really handy and usefull for any occasion, and it's an attack that Link just doesn't really have. I like him, I've used him quite a lot. Oh and I never liked Falcon, not here or Melee. -

Wolf was a bastard when I played him Took me on my 4th try in the end, although that was also because I tarded up on my third one Toon Link I did second time, I got hit by one of the bombs from the background of that level which screwed me over No harm though in the long run. To get Toon Link though I just completed classic after completing SSE (Not fully), didn't realise you could get him in SSE as well but I suppose it makes sense. -

How long did you play for to get 10 CD's? -

This classic mode is just tedious imo, I don't really enjoy doing it. I prefer all star mode, and SSE definately. -

Well this is quite interesting in terms of story that couldn't be told/portrayed in the cut scenes. Helps to explain some of the holes that are there. For all the details such as flags and crowns on the levels the official website has a lot of that stuff detailed in it's own section. -
E3 unofficial site - animal crossing "confirmed"
Invisible Painting replied to ssj's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well if Nintendo said their big back end of the year games are being announced at E3, that would indicate somewhat that Animal Crossing could be coming out for then. And I reckon it's more likely then not. But still not ruling out delays Pikmin, all of Shigsys comments have basically been 'I'd like to do something in the future for it...' and he said that a few months ago, I'm not entirely sure they've got it for E3 yet. They might but I'm not so sure atm... -

The bonus disc you got with WW of OoT had to run in 60hz, not sure about the N64 one but I remember that one did. -

I still did that thing where you just down-A Donkey Kong from Melee to get rid of oponents. Works quite well and 100 man melee was done in just over 3 minutes for me. The conveyer belts need to be longer on that vid as well so if you knock the bags further back they still stay on the course. -
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)
Invisible Painting replied to Ashley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
No that's the one, you need all the characters for the rest of them. And all the characters on sandbag! I couldn't be bothered personally Yoshi was enough Got 490ish though. Do you get anything for playing the sandbag as all of them, or just a trophy ect... -
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)
Invisible Painting replied to Ashley's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Are you more likely to get them brawling with human players then computers? Because I've played 99 brawls against the comp now and have only found 2 CD's in them, one I didn't get. And music factory I looked it up earlier it's where you turn off all items except the sandbag and set item ammount to high, and beat the sand bag and it should hopfully churn out a couple of CD's per game. Edit: And I've since made one, got 4 songs from a 5 minute brawl. Make sure you get the extra parts for the stage builder (only the first set), and then just build a system where the conveyer belts all feed into one hole in the centre, and all the sand bags will come to you and you can be bashing about 30 at a time at one point. My level looked like this: ...<=<=<==>=>=>.... =>=>...........<=<=<= .......=>....<=........... ..........[==]............. With: =>: Being a conveyer belt and the direction. [=]: A standard square block. .(full stops): Empty space. -

Song of Storms you get from completing an event match, one on the pirate ship level with the Yoshis. And I never find CD's randomly on the ground, have about twice the whole of regular brawling... -

Dr. Mario was a desperate add on, in the same way that Pichu was. Kinda like all the 'baby' characters that are in Mario Kart/Tennis ect... A good and decent roster they did need to go, not many people I've spoken to have complained about Dr.'s absence. I actually prefer the feeling of this game over Melee, the slowness I think gives it a bit more control and I just like it that bit more. -

Well I think a forum is a good start Friends wise games wise I probably will a lot more once I get back to uni, but I'm having just as much fun against the computers ect, and it's a good way to learn everything a bit easier. But I've never been someone who's had a problem playing against computers as opposed to real people. -

As Zero Punctuation put it, if you have a battle between two people who's primary way of attack is jumping on things, I'm going to put my money on the one with spikes growing out of his flesh. I just unlocked a couple more characters as well only two more to go now, I liked SSE though, all of it, even the maze The rest of the games levels all kinda felt the same anyway, so when you get to the bit where you redo them it feels the same as the new ones anyway so didn't feel repetitive or anything I liked it anyway, and the cut scenes were very good. -

Invisible Painting replied to Tellyn's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I still think more time is needed, especially as 1) some people haven't got it yet/played it yet and 2) some players may not have unlocked everyone yet and might not want to be exposed to some of the later characters you unlock. There's no harm in leaving both threads up for now. Anyway yes, got it today, works fine, it's all going well and so far I've got to say I think it's the best Smash yet. Oh and I actually like the Subspace Emisary, I like how the story is developing and I like the levels as well. -
What was 'wrong' with Twilight Princess?
Invisible Painting replied to Falcon_BlizZACK's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Yeah but when making a new game from a franchised series you need to make it for people who have played the old ones As well as people who are new obviously. So people who have played old ones opinions are just as fair if not more so because they've seen the series evolve and how. In fact my biggest, and only real flaw, with this game I wouldn't have had if I was a newcomer, which was that the the gameplay felt a bit too similar to it's previous ones, but it's still a good game...a very good one. -
Whoa! See that's what I like about Mario Kart these little glitches and stuff which are fun to learn about and try. It's why I love the N64 version for one Nice trick though.

You could wait until you've played through GTA and MGS and then buy Smash afterwards, even possibly when it's cheaper. But my thoughts on the whole hype thing, I'm buying the game for the game, not the hype. It's a good game, I know that, I know I'll love it. Therefore I'll buy it, I don't need hype. Hype is just what makes people think less of it the longer they've had it. As soon as I sit down with the game I know I'll be there and love it, think about it. But I'd still buy it if I were you, and holding the box in your hand at home ready to open it will still be a good moment for you and some of that excitement will come back. And Gamecube pad is just more comfortable, I played Brawl a couple of months ago and basically just went back to the Gamecube controller, it's just comfortable and fits really well. Try it (if you can) and see what you think. -
Yeah, take Sonic Advance 2 for example, they just made it really fast and some people were wowed by it. But it was basically 'hold right for 10 seconds, jump here, hold right for 10 more seconds' for the whole game. If you play the originals they were weren't *that* fast most of the time, they could be, but that was optional by you. Games where they just throw you into being fast whether you want to or not is not Sonic at it's best. So what if you're going fast, unless you're in proper control, choosing to go fast as a preference it's not that great imo.

What was 'wrong' with Twilight Princess?
Invisible Painting replied to Falcon_BlizZACK's topic in Nintendo Gaming
There is something called the 3 heart challenge, in which you have to play through OoT with some very strict limitations which you cannot break (the most obvious one being don't get any heart containers or pieces), others being not upgrading any items/magic meter and certain items you're not allowed to get. More details here. So you definately can avoid them in that game, and I believe you can in most as well. But again, I don't really try to -

Puppet Ganon was easy, all of it's forms there were. My basic view of a final boss is if you can beat it first time, it's too easy. Even if you're quite experienced. I think you should really have to work on a final boss (but in a way it's challenging but not unfair hard), but WW and TP's bosses they made too easy, it didn't help the fact that in TP they gave you fairies in the boss. They really should stop doing that. I personally thought that MM's bosses were good for those reasons, they were challenging and that fish was a bastard lol. WW's and TP's to a degree were predictable and as soon as you figured out how to bash them, it was just repeat 3 times, it changes it's strategy a bit, you bash him 3 more times and you're done. They got a bit samey and easy. TP's bosses were harder then WW's ones imo. Exactly, people judge a game relative to their initial expectations of it. WW lived higher then the expectations a lot of people gave it. TP, even though a really good game, was slightly lower then most peoples expectations, so people don't think of it as good in retrospect. The points people are saying about WW (such as characters, level of adventure/exploration ect) are true, and maybe TP did lack them to a degree. But TP didn't have the triforce collection bit near the end of the game, or the sailing where you just leave the control pad while you go get a cup of coffee. And I think both games did have their flaws, they were just seperate ones. So depending on what elements of Zelda you like will probably determine which game in the end you see as better. -

I've managed to stay spoiler free on the story as well (except for the first hour or so which I played at a friends) but don't know any details beyond that, but characters I know and levels I ended up finding out all of them inadvertently eventually as well (but I don't mind too much). Modes I know but it's mainly the story that I don't want to be spoiled, and have suceeded there. As for the hype, well I've got some of it back from looking stuff up on it (just going to the dojo once or twice when bored). But a game needs to be good without hype anyway, all it does is add to the initial exitement when you get it. If it's truely good then you'll play it for ages and it'll stay in your machine, which I believe this game will. So what if the hype's gone imo, we'll still be left with a really good game, which is what matters to me.
