  1. Blocks

Am I the only one that is excited with this game? I love puzzle games and this one seems creative, simple and fun. The physics seem nearly flawless as well. "Blocks" remind me of a combination between the blocks I had as a child and the puzzle mode in Tetrisphere (great game for the N64. I shouldn't have sold it. )
  2. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)

Yeah. Smashville (I love that name ) seems to be one of those stage where the highlights are in the background. But there are a few wacky stages so far. The mario Kart stage has shy guys running over you, the Eldin Bridge has bombs and King Bulblin and the Lylat Cruise has Arwings. Of course, nothing as wacky and cool as Brinstar Depths and Big Blue.
  3. Super Mario Galaxy

I will definetely love this game. -The gravity parts sound cool; -40 worlds?! One of Sunshine's flaws has already been corrected! -The game seems easy to play, but has challenging levels as well...I love those games. There are only two other flaws from Sunshine that are left to correct: -Remove the blue coins (or at least make them easier to find). I hated having to squirt a small part of the scenery to find one. There were some that I found by accident, but I would never find them if I was actually looking for them. The fact that certain blue coins could only be found in certain chapters didn't help matters either. -Am I the only one that found Super Mario Sunshine to be extremely linear when compared to Super Mario 64? I mean, in one Mario 64 level, you could find 2 to 4 stars in one chapter (in no particular order). In sunshine, you could only find one per chapter. When I couldn't find the chapter-related star, I couldn't look for another one. That pissed me off to no end. If those two flaws are corrected, THE Game of the Decade (after Smash Bros. Brawl ).
  4. Dragon Blade: Wraith of Fire

Doesn't look bad. If done right could very well be THE hack'n slash formula for wii. I can't say much from the videos, but if that is the start of the game and if you gain news moves as the game progresses, things are surely looking up. About not being able to walk to water...unless you gain the ability to swim in the middle of the game, that pretty much sucks. (Maybe it has to do with the fact that the sword is made of fire )
  5. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding then. Anyway, any doubts I had about this game are now gone: -I feared that Wiimote aiming could change Metroid Prime's perfect gameplay. Not anymore, since lock-on and good old circular strafing are back. -I feared they would make it more like a "Shoot'em up" and less like a Metroid game. Not anymore. Those morph ball segments and grapple beam rides reek of classic Metroid-ness. -I feared that the amazing sensations of the first Prime would once again go missing. Not anymore. I felt chills during the grapple beam rides because of the beautiful and looming sky. This game is going to rock. Hard.
  6. No More Heroes

What the...? *re-checks the scans* So......it's true.....this game has breached a whole new moral level on videogames. I mean, slicing a guy in half, sure. Hunting girls with missile launchers for legs, no problem. But this is pushing the limits. I mean, crapping on your memory card? Shameful, just shameful.
  7. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Woo! The ball jump makes a return! I loved that one on the 2d games. Since when did the morph ball had cannons? Was it in Hunters?
  8. Name That Game

    Marble Madness?
  9. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)

I guess I'm the only one who preferred the melee design of Donkey Kong . Anyway, the teaser is good and left us all wanting more (just as the previous trailers ) Too bad the game won't come out here until 2008, but that was to be expected.
  10. Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

From what I understood, most characters will be back from Path of Radiance, but you don't need PoR to use them. The saved game information just makes them stronger when you get them. The exceptions are
  11. Super Mario Galaxy

Finally, a true sequel to Super Mario 64. I can't wait to play this game. The gravity changes between planets alone won me over.
  12. Trauma Center:New Blood (Wii)

The Wii line-up just keeps getting better and better. I was never interested in Second Opinion since I had already played Under the Knife, but this New Blood is definetely interesting. I'm looking forward to it.
  13. Rumored TOS sequel on the wii

It's still a rumour, so it could be a number of things. However, some of the ideas here posted are tempting: -Port Tales of Symphonia to Wii with PS2 extras: Not bad. -Remake Tales of Phantasia with Symphonia 3D engine: Cool idea. Would certainly fix ToP's flawed battles. -Port Tales of the Abyss to Wii (maybe with extras): Hell Yeah! I've heard good things about ToA. Would certainly convince me to buy a Wii. -Sequel to Tales of Symphonia: Feasible, but it better contain a completely new plot, set a few centuries after ToS. Maybe a few cameos from the Half-Elves from ToS, but that's it. -Completely new Tales game: Best idea, in my opinion. Of course, there's also the possibility that it is all just a rumour, so don't expect anything big.
  14. Name That Game

CSI? This looks like a crime scene alright...
  15. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)

In Melee, lots of little attacks can keep him from attacking, I believe. There's always some little knockback on small attacks. On smash attacks and rest, there's a lot of knockback. Small knockback means that Giga Bowser barely moves, but also means that he can't attack easily because he flinches. If the Giga Bowser from Brawl doesn't suffer from small knockback, he can't suffer large knockback, either. That's what I got from the blog.
  16. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)

Actually, that was just a theory. It is the only reasonable explanation, if Mario's Final Smash is to have any balance at all. He can hit multiple people easily and trap them, dealing a lot of damage, but without sending them flying. It's the only disadvantage I can think of for such a powerful move. I can be wrong, though. It is just a theory. And for those of you saying Jigglypuff can KO Giga Bowser easily...
  17. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Exactly. I never understood the purpose behind Dark Visor. What are we supposed to try and see with it? Living creatures? Invisible platforms? Seemed like a failed combination between Thermal visor and X-Ray visor. The Echo visor was definetely cool. I mean, seeing sound? Excellent idea, although under-used . Hope it makes a comeback. But my favorite has to be the thermal visor, even if it isn't too original. The X-ray probably is more popular because it is a fresh idea and extremely well executed (even if it gave me headaches from time to time ). I wonder what new visors we'll see this time around... EDIT: Just saw Patch's idea of smell visor . Probably won't make it in Metroid Prime 3, but could be saved for future Retro Studios projects. So far we've had 3 interesting visors out of 4. That's not too bad, right?
  18. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)

I don't really think that they're that unbalanced. Mario's Final Smash hits many people, but just deals damage. Doesn't throw them out (I think). Therefore, other people could steal KO's. Link's Final Smash can send enemies flying, but it is harder to hit several people (IF more than one). Pikachu's is controllable, but it's so fast, probably only skilled players can use it effectively. Giga Bowser, may be ultra powerful, but being big has its disadvantages. (See: Giga DK in Adventure Mode; Giga Yoshi in Event Mode) Kirby's...we don't know much, but in the kirby games he could put several enemies at once in the cauldron, so it's a safe bet that he can cook several enemies at once in SSBB, as well.
  19. No More Heroes

I babelfished the site and it was surprisingly readable. According to it, the beam saber may run out of batteries and you must collect them for the charge to stay up. I think it is also related to that weird movement in the trailer (the...discover themselves...movement ). Plus, it seems that, to swing the sword effectively, you must use the combination of the A button with the Wiimote movements. There were also a couple of screenshots where a bullet was being deflected. I didn't quite understand if the beam sword fired or deflected the bullet, but its probably the latter. Also, the motorcycle is called a love car . Take the information with a grain of salt. I'm basing it on babelfish, after all... True or not, this game seems interesting. Slowly rising in my consideration.
  20. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

This post captures the exact feelings I got when playing Metroid Prime. Metroid Prime 2 was definitely weaker in this aspect. The only memorable moments of tension were the beginning with the dead soldiers and the ending with the
  21. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Spoilers Topic)

I just love these photoshop jobs, I really do. Is it me, or does Bowser seem...inflated? As in a more round figure.
  22. Oh yeah, a few more old-school games: Super Mario Land 2 - Finding out all the secret levels (mostly) by myself. Kirby's Dream Land 2 - Completing the game 100% without guides. I was pretty proud of finding all the "candy pieces" (what I called them. I still don't know what they are called ) in all the levels. Specially since everybody at my school asked me where they were (Kirby was one of those popular games). Apparently, nobody else knew where to find them. Donkey Kong (GB) - Beating some of the most complicated puzzles. Mole Mania - Completing the game 100%. I couldn't read english when I was a kid, so the game was twice as hard as it should've been, since I got stuck in a boss when the game already told what you should do. Plus, some of the puzzles were complicated and figuring them out and finding all the secret passages by myself was very rewarding. Lion King (Mega Drive) - Beating Skar at the end. He just wouldn't die. Until I figured out the simple solution, that is, but it still felt good killing him. Plus, beating the volcanic level, the hardest level in the game. Solving the monkey puzzle was a cool achievemnet at the time, too.
  23. Sonic 2 - Beating the game. I was a kid at the time, so managing to beat 19 levels (acts) and then managing to beat both Robotic Sonic and that huge Egg Robot without any rings was extremely satisfying. Plus the game wasn't even mine, it belonged to a cousin of mine. I beat the game before she did:grin:. Super Smash Bros. Melee - Beating event 51 without Jigglypuff (already managed to do it with Fox, Ganondorf, Captain Falcon and Mewtwo). Beating Adventure mode on Very Hard. Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest - Beating the dungeons for the first time. Most of the dungeons were confusing and quite puzzling. Who the hell had the idea to put cows inside Jabu-Jabu and hide important switches in the scenery, anyway? Metroid Prime - Beating Omega Pirate for the first time. At the time, I didn't know the reinforcements could be easily killed with Powerbombs (also found out by myself, the second time around). This guy was harder than Ridley and Metroid Prime combined. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Just beating the bosses. Every boss in this game is hard in a way or another. (Specially Chykka, the Boost Guardian and Emperor Ing) Still haven't passed on hard mode. Plan to do it, though. Trauma Center: Under the Knife - The final missions, both the sinners and the X missions. Still haven't passed X9, but, man, did it feel good to finally kill the annoyng Kiryakis in X1. (I'm surprised nobody mentioned this game yet) Fire Emblem 6 - Beating the game for the first time. I assure you this game is very hard and beating it without anybody dying. The acomplishment was nearly spoiled by the easy last chapters (those that you actually have to work for) Fire Emblem 7 - Beating Hector Hard mode without anybody dying. My team was rather sloppy and unbalanced but it still felt good (especially the "protect Zephiel" mission). Castlevania: Circle of the Moon - Beating Adramolech, the Twin Dragons and the Final Form of Dracula. This game had challenging bosses. Megaman Series (Original/X/Zero) - These series have tons of hard bosses and hidden power-ups. Special mentions go to Sigma (any game), the Tank-like bosses (I hate those), Wily (some forms) and Weil (Zero 4). F-Zero GX - I still haven't tried to beat the Staff records in Time Attack, but I beat everything else. Beating Mission 7 on Very Hard is my most prideful achievement ever. Accomplishments I plan on / am in the middle of doing: Super Smash Bros. Melee - Beat All-Star mode on Very Hard. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - Hard Mode and 100% Trauma Center: Under the Knife - Mission X9 Fire Emblem 6 - Beat Hard mode. Fire Emblem 9 - Beat Hard mode. Megaman Series (Original/X) - Beat the rest of the series:heh: . F-Zero GX - I still haven't tried to beat the Staff records in Time Attack...

Deus Ex: Invisible War? In all seriousness, it's Anachronox, another game by Ion Storm, isn't it?
