  1. Trouble naming a PS2 Game

Doesn't it come with them 3D glasses that you typically get in cereal packets?
  2. Non-game Nintendo stuff you have

I've got an old skool black Nintendo ruler...............think that's about it though.
  3. recommend any manga/japanese films?

Yeah I agree, it's terrible. But if you want to be wowed by CGI then it's definitely worth watching.
  4. It says in the news post text that the images are mock-ups. Nintendo best have N64 F-Zero added on this virtual console thingy.
  5. MacWorld 2006 - Steve Jobs Keynote

I've just noticed I was soooo very slow with my last post. And the Dell Dual Core's seem a more likely purchase for me over the iBook. I'm just waiting around at the moment for Apple to update their Educational Shop, as the iBook price may be more tempting then.
  6. MacWorld 2006 - Steve Jobs Keynote

Check this link out http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/ They've now gone and chucked ATI's next generation graphics chip in mobile format in the iBook aswell.
  7. Favouite films thread (its so original!)

In no particular order my top 5 are Star Wars Saga - Watching the first three (New Hope and after) when I was a wee kid just made it all magical.....been in love with Star Wars since. Lost in Translation - Perfect film imo. I won't go into details, as I've ranted about it before. Goodfellas - "One day the kids from the neighborhood carried my mother's groceries all the way home. You know why? It was outta respect." Pulp Fiction - Brilliant directing, and totally engrossing. Se7en - A brilliant ending......and this film just plain rocks. Everyone should see it (but not if you're under 18 kiddies). ........there's loads more, but those are the ones that really stand out.
  8. Pissed!! >:-(

I'm guessing he went and bought a whole new motherboard so he could use the 7800 because he originally had an AGP socket but his computer was otherwise kickarse..................I could be wrong though. I think it's great news personally, as alot of people thought that Nvidia had said goodbye to AGP sockets with the release of the 7800.
  9. Do you have a blog?

    4. One day I have planned to start one up, but I can see myself getting half arsed and forgetting about it. And Faz, I agree about the whole people who write stuff like "today took dog for walk, then ate breakfast...........etc", I mean what's the point in that..........no one gives a shit. I may start one up if I get to uni, as I can see myself having more time because not living at home and all that.
  10. Tales Of Symphonia Yay or Nay?

As it's Tales of Symphonia related I thought I'd post the link here aswell like I said I would. Tales of Symphonia Ebay item And I had the same experience as you bambooo, with preferring ToS over Skies (even though I rated ToS 7/10). Skies is brilliant, but it just seems quite dated presentation wise..........but it's story definitely beats ToS's.
  11. Dell is back on my good list

I can't be bothered to explain the whole deal..........but Quadro's are geared towards OGL graphics applications and DCC, and I'm guessing you want to play games. So you've got no need for this sort of card. Quadro drivers are written with OGL support in mind, thus it won't come anywhere near as good as a 7800 GTX in games which are mostly based around the DirectX api. The 7800 GTX is the way to go.......like JonSt said, nothing really beats it.
  12. First Dual Core Centrinos are now finally available. I was going to be buying a lappy from Dell in about 6 months time, so I'm happily relieved that they'll be available when I finally pick one up............. Dell Inspiron 9400 They are priced very decently aswell, considering your getting a 17" screen, a mobile Geforce 7800 Ultra, and 1Gb of ram clocked at 667MHz........would put nearly everyones desktops to shame I would have thought.
  13. Dell is back on my good list

Well that would depend on how long after you buy this 15" that you'll buy the 30"? And whether you'll be using that 15" monitor again after you buy the bigger one. If you're not going to have a use for the 15" once you get the 30", then I would say save your cash and find a cheap 17" CRT to tide you over until you pick up the more expensive hardware. And you've got far to much cash btw.
  14. Dell is back on my good list

Yeah Dell are a pretty sweet company. You have to pay that little bit extra though, as it really does cover their outstanding warranty which has a rapid turnaround time on getting your product fixed or replaced. Also, if you're going to be buying anything from there, try and purchase it as you're a small business, because Dells support centre for "home" customers is based in Asia, while their Business system support centres are based regionally. And yes, their 24" and 30" widescreen monitors really do kick arse, and like you said Marshmellow, they include the memory card readers on the sides and plus additional USB ports (not sure if it's one extra or two). If I had the cash then I really wouldn't mind one of their 24" screens.............but in life, other things really have to come first. Hopefully though I'll be able to get myself a Dual Core Inspiron before I go uni next October if all goes well.
  15. The screenshots don't exactly demonstrate how it'll look, as these are just captures..............so can't really tell if it's all that much better than what Revenge looked like on the ps2/xbox before (which looked amazing). Some video footage will probably turn up in the next few weeks hopefully.
  16. Battalion Wars

Yeah, it really is a brilliant little game. I got it on launch and only played throught the first 8 missions I think. Not played it since because of lack of time and all that..........but hopefully I'll be able to get back into it in the coming weeks. And yes, the graphics are uber nice. There's alot of nice little touches, and the wooded/forest areas look really lush. I was also soooo happy when they kept the boxart in the same style as the US one...........prob best GC boxart around I rekon........although Paper Mario comes close.
  17. GTA Liberty City Stories PS2 bound!

Surely that would come down to your preference in genres though? It's the same for every game..............someone's gem may not be someone elses cup of tea. We've heard it all before with Halo and Grand Theft Auto. Yes they are outstanding games, but some people will just not understand that these games make people tick............personally I'm not a GTA fan, but the game is still brilliant and I can see why people enjoy it. I would have thought that Sony have requested this from Rockstar, just so they can use it as a chess piece against Microsoft next year (edit-this year, thinking we're in 05 still) to make people think "oh wow, new PS2 Grand Theft." And trust me, people do think like that.
  18. charles kennedy, he's familiar with jack

I also voted for him aswell.......considering it was the only real alternative as they say. He did an amazing job for the lib dems during the last polls, and battling a drink problem and his wife giving birth to a child aswell must of been tough. And having the bottle (haha) to come out on tv and admit you've got a problem when you're fronting a political party is not an easy job. If he announced it before or during the last polls then it could have been a massive disaster for the Lib Dem party. I hope they keep him on aswell..................as it increases the chances of having a ginger for PM, which in its own right would be something for the books.
  19. Tales Of Symphonia Yay or Nay?

I didn't like it really. It was the story that killed it for me..................and the game never knew whether it was serious or if it was ment to be full of jokes........this did add depth to the characters, but I just felt that there was two conflicting styles for the script. The skits were a stroke of genius, as they didn't have to be read at all, but they added so much more for each characters development. Also the main basis of the story was just soooo old and cliche, but with different names chucked in to spice things up........I'm bored of these mana stories now, and especially considering nearly every cutscene or piece of the script has the characters mentioning it non-stop. The battle system and item management during battles is the best part of the game...........and it's the best use of real-time battles I've ever seen in a rpg. The game overall gets a 7/10 from me. It's still a great game, but just not for me I think..............more people have come out praising it then giving a bashing. So it's probably worth picking up if you like rpg's. I've got a mint copy of TOS which I may be putting on ebay tonight/now tomorrow along with a few other rare games (Gitaroo Man anyone  ). It typically sells for quite abit aswell, as it's getting harder to find nowdays. I'll edit this post with the link later. (ends shameless sale plug )
  20. So, back to college tomorrow..

I go back on Thursday to college, and I did plan to finish two assignments and do a few pieces for my portfolio. Only managed to do one piece for the portfolio........and damn, this Christmas break has gone by far too quickly. Good luck with your mocks aswell you lot.
  21. It was always inevitable that a PC release would happen first. This kind of craps over the PS3's launch though if it's not there on launch day or very soon after, but in the end it'll only be the FPS/Unreal lovers missing out as most people will be picking up the likes of Devil May Cry...etc I would have guessed.
  22. So How's 2006?

Haha, I'm in the same boat as you. I've been in bed all day, and threw up about 5 times...............and now I don't think all the drinking was really worth it. Still it was a good night though. Fireworks under a bridge being the highlight. I don't tend to drink anymore, but sometimes on ocassions like this you just can't resist.............and it's a brilliant time to make a "kinda random post" like that. But in the end, it's only a number, and I don't expect things to be so radically different in 2006 than the end of 2005 quite yet.
  23. Has C-E + R-E = gone

That's what has had pist me off recently., blah blah..........hope they get it sorted soonish.
  24. So How's 2006?
