Do you own (m)any of these?

My first ever post in this subforum I believe..Best Buy UK is having a clearout sale starting tomorrow, discount from 10-30 %.
Of any use to you people?
Thanks Sméagol - I knew Best Buy were pulling out of UK (crying shame, I used the Merry Hill branch a few times & really liked it) but it seems they may be starting their "closing down sale" from now.

Spaceballs.
The number of times my younger self watched that film & loved it to bits, but when i tried watching it again earlier this year it was really, really, weak.
On the brighter side, I didn't find Blackadder funny 10-15 years ago, but got the boxset for xmas last year and really enjoyed it.

Unrelated - when i read the thread's title, it was to the tune of:
"IIII'M Out...standing, accor-ding to offf-steeeed....."

Almost a month old, forgot to post it after Halloween.
Started off as Gomez Addams, ended up closer to the villain from a 1920s silent film...

That's probably their way of saying "oh crap we made a mistake, so we're backing out of it", now you have to pay full price. Amazon 1, you 0.

My top 10 (in order, starting with the best):
1. Metroid Prime
2. P.N.03
3. Killer 7
4. Resident Evil 4
5. Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
6. Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
7. Super Monkeyball Adventure (yes, I loved it - shut up!)
8. Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
9. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
10. F-Zero GX
Tho to be honest there were way too many to choose from.
Even when I was down to 15, every one I cut from the list felt like pulling the limbs off a puppy

Never played it myself and I'm pretty sure we aren't allowed to link to ROM sites or anything like that (encourages piracy etc) :pBut of course
Arguing that it's not piracy when it was never released in the first place, Battletoads is now out there too.

God, am I really the only one who's really not looking forward to Pandora's Tower at all?Yes you are.
Now get out.
-
I'm still playing it (been going through pretty slowly in between loads of other stuff) and loving it.
The part that blows my mind are the times when i go back to a previous area and characters talk about events/characters you've met later on. Expected them to still be in the exact same state you left them in after doing their quest etc, but they've asked about other characters, mentioned that they heard you did things in another area, etc.
Makes the game feel so much more believable, like the world's carrying on around you without constant interaction.

There's a demo of this in the shop. Pretty tight. The ahead/behind yells are hilarious! If by "hilarious" you mean "infuriatingly annoying", then yes I agree.
YOU ARE 2 SECONDS BEHIND!!
YOU ARE 2 SECONDS AHEAD!!
YOU ARE 5 SECONDS AHEAD!!
YOU ARE 2 SECONDS AHEAD!!
YOU ARE 2 SECONDS AHEAD!!

From starting out like this:
Then taking a detour at this:
It ended up like this:

No mention of Robocop games yet?
-
In the case of Crash and Spyro, it's more the case of the developers ditching the franchise and another developer picking up the pieces.Actually, the new Spyro has now been confirmed to leapfrog "unnecessary" and land in "oh my crap" land.
Seriously, would you take your child to this event and NOT expect them to have nightmares for the next few weeks?
-
Once again, all they had to do was fix the broken stuff. Not break more stuff.
-
All they had to do was re-CG the crap bits. Instead, they replaced the real bits with CG.
Roar.
-
What about sequels that exist for apparently no reason except milking the cash cow?
Look at Crash Bandicoot games after 3, for instance - would you say any of those were/weren't necessary additions to the franchise?
-
I'm starting to think that with all the Star Wars spoofs out there, Lucas has now decided to make his own official spoof.
-
I've never understood this "the sequels ruined it, they should have left it alone" sentiment. So what if the sequels are bad, don't watch/play them then. Having bad sequels doesn't make the original any less good.I don't think of sequels ruining the originals in movies or games, but you often hear discussions of films where people say "the original was the best, let's pretend the sequel/s never happened" (eg. Robocop).
