i dont care about these people who say teenage relationships arent real or whatever. i am 16 and im in love with a girl called ashleigh. she moved to florida about 3 years ago (i live in england) and everyday kills me. i speak to her most days on msn, but its not enough, i want to be with her to care for her and be there for her but 3000 miles is such a fucking long way... also she just started going out with some dude and although im happy for her, it depresses me so much. i literally want to cry sometimes...

from what ive seen of the film so far it looks ok. i cant even hope that it will capture the magic of the books, but i hope it doesnt fuck up the books like with harry potter. the only complaint i have so far is that asriel looks NOTHING how i imagined him from the books. i always imagined him to be much taller, with some kind of large hat type thing. il draw a picture for you some time lol

oh cool. i dont know how my mum got a hold of the american version of the book then i live in the uk and so i have the northern lights version so i just hope they keep the name for the uk. it'll be easier for this than harry potter as this is just the title of the film and not actually mentioned in the film like the philosophers/sorcerers stone is.

Hello everyone. All of you, as was I, were extremely disappointed and angry at the news of the film being called "The Golden Compass" as opposed to "Northern Lights" and complaining that it is due to americans illiteracy. I will now quite happily tell you all to shut the hell up! I just found out that Northern Lights used to be called The Golden Compass so it is not americans but Pullman himself who has named it this, and in fact if you're a hardcore fan of him, then this new name should be a good thing. lies i use 'indeed' all the time and i dont think im 'cool' for saying it and im not really a 'sophisticated' member of society. i really hate when chavs say 'chh-chh' , trying to imitate the cocking of a shotgun i believe. its very annoying when said person is sitting behind you inan important exam and the fucking teachers do nothing about it

i love bread too, the warbutons white 'toasty' bread is the greatest loaf (thats the one in the orange wrapper) allwhite is good and wholemeal is awesome too, but not whole grain. i dont want any seed crap in my bread thanks.

i love these books. i read them all about a year ago and i always thought "i think these could potentially make a great movie" and today i find there is one being made. i got confused earlier in the thread so please someone answer this: what are they trying to change to "the golden compass"? the alethiometer or the actual film title?

hehe well if you really want me to. 1st we'll discuss jims 18th. it started off as a regular 18th party complete with beers and a bouncy castle. my mate graham was very funny when he was drinking shandy and thort it was cider and got totally pissed off it (which either shows drunkness is partly mental, or that hes just incredibly weak drinker). anyway i digress, the night got later, it got darker, tents were set up (although noone planned to go to sleep yet) and we had cigars and more beer. now in the kitchen there wer some baked potatoes that we stole and threw at people which was hilarious. then my mate ben who was wasted got with this girl who is actually a prostitute and me and another mate wer like haunting them cz they wer tryin to have "good times" but we kept like interuptin them and they ran away to the point we followed them commando style around cars etc over a huge field and stuff. then we got bored and went back to the house. other stuff happened includin ben pissing on someones tent and my other mates big brother jumpin on a tent while ben and the whore were "busy". then it was sleepy time and i was asleep in the same tent as ben and the whore and i woke up after a while and was not amused to find them doing unscrupulous things next to me. thus ends the story of jims 18th. at least thats all i remember lol. then to ... i forget her name but ye it was her halloween party lol. again there was much alcohol only this time it was BYOB so instead of bein layed on beer after beer i had some vodka and a couple of bottles of stella. i met these 2 hot chicks (i didnt get either of their numbers though oh well il get them of mark some time lol) and i shared some cigs with them and we got progressively more drunk. i felt really bad that night because in my drunken foolishness i upset helen who is a good friend of mine. i just realised that i dont know why i count this as like a "funny night" it was actually really depressing but i guess dillan moron is right when he says we rate things by how much they fuck us up: "how was last night?" "i cant hear anything, it was brilliant" lol. but yeah erm i drank too much that night and threw up outside and cried about stuff out the back and caught a hot girl after she jumped down the stairs to me (this was like meant to happen she wasnt trying to kill me or anything lol) and it ended up i was playing guitar whilst people played burnout then me helen and james stood in the kitchen drinking and talking for hours until jim turned up at about 5am after being at work. then me helen james jim and steph (its funny how i say them as if i expect you to know them but oh well) and we had dares to drink shots of vinegar, and diluted washing up liquid. oh and like having vinegar in your mouth and spitting it into a glass containg bicarbonate of soda and making an airtight seal around it... not funny. and so ends my stories. please comment them and il be sure to tell more stories in the future. i know it was a long read and it probably wont seem funny because you werent there and your not drunk but i think it was rather humourous. thank you

I plan to do A-levels in maths physics and english language, and a BTEC National Diploma in video games development (get in!!!) 4. ) What job you got now? i just applied at macdonalds (its good pay) they havnt got back to me yet... 5. ) Future Plans regarding work/studies well basically explained in 2 and 3. i would also like to become a successful musician or go into the RAF (im in the ATC) but i have my games stuff there in backup lol. wow i didnt realise but im actually pretty prepared for life. i have 3 career options available to me with relative ease :P

lol fuckin hilarious !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but elekko seriously i know how you feel. i just told this girl how i feel and she hasnt spoken to me since. im thinking of phoning her later but.. no doubt she wont pick up... but anyway right now im thinking "fuck it" theres loads more people out there. i like to end on a positive note!! i think you should make this drunk excuse real. by this i mean take her to a party and get both of you drunk and see how things go. if all else fails youll have a fucking awesome night wether you get with the girl or not. i have many stories i could tell of drunken nights. i have a subscription to ONM cz i thort id get a free wavebird as it said i would. the first issue has come and no wavebird... i may be writing an angry letter soon.

i was quite bemused at first about both the name and the controller. the name seemed to be an apalling choice compared to "revolution" but now i do prefer it a lot and it just seems natural and how it should be. as for the controller the only reason i had doubts was because i took the controller for what it was at the time. when they first released pictures of it, they didnt mention the motion sensing and pointing functions (as far as im aware) and im sure you will all agree that without those features the conttroller does look crappy and would be a failure. however obviously the wii-mote does have these functions and i now see it as the biggest innvation in gaming since 3D graphics.

hmm i played this game for a couple of hours and dint even get to the 1st temple, and it seemed to be starting off great... ordon village is beautiful and even though it was played on a pc monitor so it was quite blurry, i still thought the graphics were pretty amazing, and thats just the first few hours! I played up until you meet princess zelda which confused meas i was meeting her before even the first dungeon, but it was still a great encounter, until i had to go home. i later played on my friends file which involved me finding the last 2 monkeys to cross the huge gap to get to the boss. then i faced the boss and immediately knew what to do even though i had hardly played the game that much, which i think shows that TP is more accessable than other zeldas, at least at this early stage. im not sure if this is a good thing or not. then when the baboon guy came and midna was like "maybe this guy is a good guy after all" i was like "WTF i havnt seen this guy before" (i now know that hes the mini-boss that you get the boomerang from) but the whole battle was pretty cool. after beating him i got out of the forest and went into the twilight realm after seeing the rather comical postman/runner (i dont know what he is in TP) but then i had to go. i really want my Wii now just to experiance the rest of the game and i just thought id share these first few experiances i had of the game .

omg i finally get this game but i dont get a wii... howmuch of a jip is that? its supposed to be an incentive to save up my own money to get a wii but its just torture to me. I WANT MY ZELDA !!!!!!!!!!!!!
