Couch 2 5K. I'm a graduate of it, and now I run about 20-25k per week. Previous to C25K I did no running, though I cycled to and from work.

When you get to the cock pit, if you see deck chairs, don't sit in one. Will lead to awkwardness with an old dude.

The salary might not be ideal, but does the experience gained trump this? There may be a salary jump or two in the near future too if you were to stick around?

I am becoming a running addict, and my 5K PB time is dropping pretty regularly. I'm now down to 24:13 which is good given that just prior to Christmas I was struggling to hit 30:00. I'm mixing up the runs too - doing interval, and hill running pretty regularly. The uncoolest thing about all this happened just today. I go out running at lunchtime at work. There are a few others that also go out. I recently bought some nice new running shoes. One of the other guys bought the exact same pair - colour/everything. I was like "er ... do you not think that's a bit weird/creepy?" But he did not. I know it's not a big deal, but I put some effort into finding shoes that matched my foot type and that sort of jazz. He sees mine, then buys the exact same. Urgh.

I used to have to work harder than I do now. When I started at my current workplace my monitor screen was easily visible to my boss, I had to learn loads of stuff and I was given all the smaller jobs that came in. Now I'm more senior I have a nicer office where no one can see my monitor screen, and I delegate bucket loads of crap to the junior guys. However, a lot of my time is spent being available for their questions and to help them. If I was stressed with my own workload I wouldn't be as good a manager. I follow a rule I read on slashdot for time estimates in work when someone asks how long it will take to do something. Think of how fast you could do it in a rush Double that time Move up a time unit, e.g. minute->hour, hour->day Adjust for credibility

The C25k program? I did that at the end of last year, and it really helped. I'd not really been much of a runner before and it helped to have a nice structure to follow. A couple of weeks ago when I was on holiday I ran a 10k, just to see if I could do it. It was awesome. Now I run 5k a few times a week on my lunch hours and am just working on increasing my pace. Today I ran 5k in 25:30, which I was super chuffed with. Keep at it, it gets easier!

I went on a run at lunch time. It was raining and cold. Now my nipple is bleeding. It was an awful run too.

On the website it says the karts have a top speed 60mph. Maybe you guys were doing 70kph? (That's a lot less mental.)

Maybe because people like to stick with those that share common beliefs/ideals/lifestyles/preferences/etc? People learn that this forum is gay-friendly so they are more likely to stick around if they are gay?

It seems to sell well on ebay! I was hoping to get a copy because my kids love Kirby, but was put off by the prices.

Here's a short piece on it. I personally think state recognised marriage should be done away with. Anyone should be able to enter into a civil partnership (via a short, formal, non-religious ceremony), but after that, anything you do (any religious celebration, etc) should be entirely personal and nothing to do with the state. There's a strange hypocrisy in Mormon culture where, in general, people are against redefining marriage to include same sex, but they forget about that when talking about our polygamous history, and that period of time is spoken of as a time of persecution. "Why wouldn't the US government let us practice our religion in peace?"

When I put pictures in Word, the thing that is most annoying is text wrapping. Play with that and everything fixes.

I was sacked from O3 then made a fake account that Haden assigned to O3. Then I could rejoin the league with my normal account and be assigned a new team. It was dumb.

Having a logical mind helps, but anyone can code really. There's loads of resources available on the internet. I taught myself through trial and error after deciding what app I wanted to make, but there are better ways I'm sure. Maybe this could help?
