Wow, surprised to see this game isn't (yet) popular in these parts for some reason. Review copies are out to all the usual outlets. Pre-orders for this game are huge. It's managed to climb up the amazon best sellers list to number 4 already. Looks like this could be even bigger for hardcore gamers than Octopath Traveler was last summer. I imagine the exposure from Smash Ultimate has got an unprecedented number of people excited to try this franchise for the first time.

New version of the Switch for children can't play Pokémon Let's GO! either without additional Joy-Con, which seems crazy but there you go.

So you want to rectify the situation by buying a slightly less expensive bit of kit, taking the cost of your Switch hardware up to around £479, and comes with the same risks of being lost/stolen/dropped/broken. Each to their own

Do not understand why someone who already has a Switch would want to buy this, unless you're absolutely made of money. I thought the whole point of a Switch is that you can...switch. It seems like it's aimed at young children and I imagine Santa will be delivering a lot of these this year.

Looks fun. I never played Professor Layton back in the day but will keep an eye on this.

It's nice to see everyone on my friends list is playing this at the moment. I like the sense of community when everyone's playing the same game. Hasn't happened since Smash and Pokémon at the tail end of last year. I beat the story mode in its entirety. Took around 8 hours or so and only a handful of the levels really challenged me. I'm currently playing other people's stages and will attempt to create my first ever stage shortly. What I really like about this game compared to New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is that you no longer have to search every nook and cranny of a stage in order to find hidden gold coins and secret exits. That was a right drag after a while.

I imagine it will be the biggest selling Nintendo game of the year until Pokémon comes out.

This game is going to be huge, isn't it? I can see it sticking around the Top 40 chart for years. Should get a number 1 in the UK chart though Crash Team Racing could've been tough competition if they'd launched in the same week.

When does the review embargo lift for this please?

I mean a sequel or port for Switch to co-incide with the release of the film. No one’s going to know the game for 3DS even exists, let alone hunt it down.

So is there going to be a Pokémon Direct at the end of May like there was last year, or will we have to wait until E3 for proper Sword and Shield gameplay? Still surprised we've heard nothing of a Detective Pikachu game given how massive that film is going to be. Although they did say there is more Pokémon stuff still to be announced, so let's see.

I should add, the level design and art direction are both top notch. This really feels like a high quality product full of that Nintendo magic. Sure, it's not the biggest game in the world but there is 30 hours of content here for those wishing to 100% it. This game feels like the most suitable platformer for children on the Switch, as it's less complicated than Super Mario Odyssey and less difficult than New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze.

I'm coming towards the end of the main game now, I think. Might try and get it done by the end of the afternoon as CEX are offering £32 cash for trade-in and I'd really like to catch that before it comes down. Not bothered about collecting everything and sometimes I complete a level wondering how the F I missed some things... Wish I'd played Yoshi's Woolly World now.

No, I only played as Joker briefly. Everyone else is, so I thought I'd take advantage for the moment by playing as anyone else.

I love the way Joker's final smash looks. It's incredibly stylish and one of the most impressive FS animations for sure.
