  1. Expecting a whupping today from Fierce Link still it might help me get that 4th spot
  2. Reports: Will do tomorrow in the mean time enjoy a synopsis This is the season of reckoning. Out of the ashes of the lower league. The promoted sides will rise. A new generation of manager. Designed to annihilate fair tactics. And our last hope in the war against dirty tactics. Will be Flinky... All predictions have been infected. What the hell is going on? It is judgement day the end of our time in the middle league we are going to be in the top league 9 wins from now. It is the promotees they are starting to go for 4th on purpose! What is your mission? My mission is to get our club to 4th. You are about to fail that mission! Middle League Season 24: Rise of Dragooooo, It is time. Alliances A perfect team, a perfect manager, a perfect alliance, a perfect lie. NWO: Nikos, Seahawks, Yellow Submarine 27 Haden, DuD, Recall 23 Midnight Riders: Peeps, Aquila, Coloccini 18 Eights, Ell, J7 14 Silverdale, Bayer, Madpool 5 Eights Ell and Silverdale if you want to combine give me the nod! Spotlight Inter: 1 Nikos was nearly precisely right in the last spotlight, who will be the mystic matt this time around? We are going to go to an old school encounter this time, Comrade Co-op vs Fedex United. Bit of a middle league scrap as between them both teams have only 1 point between them after 3 games and are both in the relegation zone: Give me the winner and the amount of injuries.
  3. Sorry never got round to updating am away for a couple of days but will do a Peeps style double update when I get back. Register alliance interest if you haven't so far Jimbob how is your friend doing does he know game schedule times? Good luck to everyone for Tues! Apart from Aquila! :p
  4. 4th will be mine! I swear to god I will not rest till you and AC finish the season above me in the promotion spots.
  5. Will update alliances and spotlight this evening. So if you have any alliances ready to go put them into practice @bob check out the comment I put on your game keep plugging away man Also make sure you are training if you aren't. Took a big risk bringing on star youth today and it didn't pay off he got badly injured still middle league looks to be the most exciting league already!
  6. Oddly enough I have never seen the movie, I was searching for a concept for this season and 24 seemed to lend itself to time so off to youtube I went. I am a big fan of Hans Zimmer and that track blew me away when I heard it, will have to buy the movie when I get paid
  7. Your forward line is rather weak and midfield seems to be developing, I think 4-5-1 is a good formation for you but I would start with Rivas and then bring in the youths if you are winning or start with the youths and then bring in Rivas at half time. I don't know your econ situation but maybe buy another decent forward to pair with Rivas. If you got all those 6 skill midfielders 7 skill next season you would be doing very well. Btw if anyone wants to write a piece about formations (I dont expect anyone to take me up on this ) I will feature it in next seasons opening post and this season via an official PR. @bob played 4-2-4 today and it seems we ourselves don't really know how formations work. If anyone wanted to lend some form of wisdom of what is good to play home and away it would be very helpful. The 64s 1-1 Comrade Co-op The 64s were glad to still be in the middle league and took on the Co-op who wanted an early away victory. The 64s played to traditional strengths and packed their midfield with a 4-5-1 formation. The Co-op held firm with a 4-4-2 ready for anything. The 64s dominated possession and took an early lead as Diz headed in a cross that nearly headed into the goal itself. However the veteran and captain Chmutov struck back with a powerful long range shot when the 64s defence stood back from him when they should have known better. Substitutions flurried on both sides in the 2nd half but to no avail it ended in a 1-1 draw. These are the type of games that the 64s should be wining, Co-op will be glad with a draw. Hadens Rangers 1-0 Leeds M.O.T Rangers played their first game in the middle league while Leeds prepared to play their last season. Rangers set up with an aggressive 4-3-3 while Leeds went for an adaptable 4-4-2. Rangers were rampant in the first half with all chances and 60% possession, Conden tapped in a sitter after a corner to put the hosts 1-0 up. Leeds came back after the break and had all the possession but could do nothing with it, even a late Ranger sending off couldn't help them. Rangers will be happy with their first victory in the middle league, Leeds will have a sinking feeling. Seahawks FC 3-1 Fedex United The only other team to gain a victory is many pundits pick to win the league this season Seahawks as they played middle league newcomers Fedex. Both teams played 4-4-2, Seahawks middle league experienced midfield was on top straight away. Giraldes set up Beltran and then was slotted through by Scorpios to score his own to make it 2-0 after 26 minutes. Rios curled in a long shot to have the Seahawks fans singing "You're getting sacked in the morning" before half time. Seahawks eased off the peddle after half time and Fedex got a goal back with mere minutes to go when Salnitro headed home. But it was Seahawks day they had 11 chances to 2 and were deserved winners. This was a warning shot to other clubs this could well be their season. AC Elites 0-0 Dragooooo A niggly game as two rivals met today. AC Elites played 4-4-2 against Dragooooo's possesion orientated 4-5-1. Elites manager was red faced before the game began and was shouting at the referee to turn two yellows he gave to red as Dragooooo hit hard with their tackles. He was given a warning as he stormed up to the Dragooooo manager and shouted in his face when Strijbosch had to be taken off via a stretcher after a clumsy tackle. The Dragooooo manager gestured something to the Elites manager to much anger from the home fans, a beer bottle was thrown in his direction. The game itself was no match for the off field entertainment, Dragooooo had the better of the 2nd half as their manager put on subs to try and win it but it was a dull 0-0 draw in the end both sets of supporters would have wanted more. Aquila All Stars 0-0 Bayern Neverlusen All Stars set up with a 4-5-1 formation hoping to boss around Bayern who came with a traditional 4-4-2 set up. All Stars created a couple of chances in the first half but Bayerns formation was superb and their lone striker was swarmed as soon as he got the ball. All Stars kept trying in the 2nd half but Chalmers for Bayern was a hero in defence, he seemed to spot chances before they even happened and directed defenders and defensive midfielders to hot spots before All Star players contemplated moving into them. Bayern themselves did not offer much but will now look forward to the return leg. All Stars need to find a way to score goals today was disappointing, Bayern have found a man which they can build on with Chalmers. Most Important Result: The 64s 1-1 Comrade Co-op, hard to look past this, the 64s needed to do better a good point for Co-op. Stylish Play: Seahawks FC, 3 goals in a rather goaless round, they seem to be the team to beat a very impressive performance. Best Player: Darren Chalmers, Bayern Bru, as was mentioned in the report he stifled All Stars completely his manager will be pleased.
  8. Thanks guys and it is epic to have you back J7 Very pleased with win today got my tactics spot on but Leeds dominated in the 2nd half and I was glad not to concede, 3 points like that will be very important later! Next game is Seahawks so I expect nothing but will try and get a draw. Conden is an epic player, played a blinder today with a goal to cap it off and I think we could have got another if he would have stayed on. My other midfield youths are so far behind him that I am scared in a couple of seasons time he will be marked to hell but we will see. I would PM someone not in your league to be a part time manager as that is a longggg time!
  9. First Spotlight of the season and we are diving down to the lower league for a rather unpredictable match. Aussie FC vs Yellow Submarine It will be the first match for Aussie FC a team that graces our league mysteriously with no connections to any member against Yellow Submarine one of the red hot faves to win the lower league. Please predict the winner or draw. The tiebreaker is this: Looking at their teams Ravehill and Lilywhite seem real threats for either side, how many goals or assists will these men get between them?
  10. This is very much the case, training cone players are goldust I would consider a player one below my minimum of 18 4 19 5 if he had a training cone as they may well be able to make up the difference and save me training costs. Intelligence is becoming my new second fave trait. Check out MilaGi's cup run I think he played 5-3-2 more than once, maybe if you combined it with long ball it may be pretty sweet?
  11. Big time we should get someone from the lowers maybe @bob ? If you ever do want to come back just let me know
  12. Season is now up!
  13. Season 24: Time to shine Previous Champions Intergalactico Stars 23 Silverdale Hotpot 22 Haden United 21 Essex Elites 20 Essex Elites 19 Mcoys Sons 18 Essex Elites 17 Dysonian Wanderers 16 Haden United 15 Dysonian Wanderers 14 Essex Elites 13 Roostophe Rovers 12 Haden United 11 Roostophe Rovers 10 Oddy 5-9 Haden United 4 Bayern Bru 3 Oddy 2 Happenstance FC 1 Peeps Xpert Quick Beginner's Guide I just wanted to make sure the new guys know about how important it is to keep good form for your players and get high development values. Without high development values, your players will not increase in skill. Player Development The first thing you should look at for your players is age against skill. The average is 18-4 (to become 19-5, 20-6 etc as a baseline). If you have players below this average, they are probably not worth keeping on to train (but arguably once they get to 9/10 skill they're decent enough to keep around if it keeps your team balanced). Focus should always be on youth. Players also have special qualities which are explained HERE - take note of Divas as simply giving them their favourite shirt number will remove any negative effects they would otherwise have. Development Values - Players increase their base skill at the end of each season in the change report. The size of the increase/decrease is determined by development values (DV) - which you can keep track of if you hover over the player name in your team list. A DV of 10 or higher will give your player an increase in skill but to get a visible raise (ie, to get one skill bar higher) you would be aiming for 14/15 at the very least. DVs are worked out by your player's average form and match experience over the season. If you play stronger teams and lose, you can still get good DV for your players if you can keep their form up as your player's match experience will be better when you play high skilled teams (DV is an accountable figure but match experience is hidden and probably not worth thinking too much about). Younger players will raise easier than older players who may not raise even on 16/17 DV. Form Your player's form has an influence on how well that player will play in a match. A player on 10 form will usually play TO his skill level during the game. A player on higher than 10 form will usually play above their own skill level during a game. You can see how well your players did during the game afterwards when you look at your 'last line-up'. last line-up: As you can see, my keeper played one skill bar lower than his base skill as did my 17-4 midfielder who was on 10 form. My 26-9 defender who was on 17 form, played to 3 bars above his own base skill. You can see Ernst Heinzmann was on good form but played below his skill level. This is because my opponent had him marked as my playmaker so he did not play as well due to being marked in the game. If he had actually been my playmaker, it likely would've stopped all of my midfield from playing too well above their own skills. Form values are not always reliable as they only show your player's last form change. The arrows indicate which way the form is trending so you can get an idea of whether a player is going to continue to drop or not. HERE is a link that goes into form and form trends a bit better. You can try to boost player's form with form training (expensive but worth it) but remember the higher your player's form, the less likely they are to raise their form by much (or at all). I'll also give my opinion on your teams, just what I'd do if I were starting out with what you've got. Maybe it'll give you a bit of insight into how to think about team development. Hopefully some other people will comment some things too as I don't want to steer anyone wrong. Generally I liked to go for 2 keepers, 5/6 in defence, 5/6 in midfield and 3 up front with a good balance of old and young / high and low skilled players. It looks to me like your defence is in the worst shape as your only 'good' player is your 31-10. Obviously buying in players is expensive so you are going to be stuck with some players for a while but don't feel like you have to play them in games. If they aren't worth training, don't play them unless you have to. Goalkeepers - Personally I would keep your 25-7 and get a youth keeper in to train alongside him. Try and sell the 26-7 for a little bit of econ. Defence - I would keep the 31-10, 28-7 and 17-3 and replace the other two with youth - remembering the standard of 18-4. Either invest in the youth academy and wait (players from the youth team will already have a red heart which means your player is invested in the team and will perform better in matches), or buy some cheap players in the transfer market. Midfield - Ignore your older players. Your 22-6, 21-6 and 19-6 (especially him) are great so you should look for one or two high skilled players to help them train up. You can get cheap high skilled players if you look for players aged 30+ but be warned, players can retire at any age past 30 (but you will be warned the season before). Alternatively you could go for more youth and have a young and fairly low-skilled midfield but after a couple of good seasons they would be developed into a great team. Forwards - I'd keep the 30-9 and 21-6, the other two are not worth training. Get one more youth player and stick with just 3 forwards (you could even just stick with the two but obviously that would restrict you from certain formations). @dr4hkon 's team (please also read what I wrote for Bob as I mentioned a couple of things about youth and the transfer market) This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 751x447. Goalkeepers - Neither of them are worth keeping imo. You should aim to get a good youth (17-4 / 18-4) and a high skilled keeper (30-9 or 10) from the transfer market. Defence - Pretty good defence here - youth especially. The two 24yr olds aren't great but the 24-6 may be worth keeping if you're going to be spending money elsewhere in your team. I'd probably keep it as is but replace the 24-5 with an 18-4 (or better if you can - 17-4 / 18-5). Midfield - Again not much you need to do. Do away with the 26-4 and maybe the 27-7 as well. Definitely focus on your younger players to raise their skill and gradually replace anyone that's falling behind with more youth. Forwards This is another weak area with no one really worth keeping. You can either go for all youth here and train them into a strong force, or go for a couple of young players and a high skilled one just to keep you competitive. Sorry if this post was a bit long but I hope you both read it (do we have any other new teams?) and hopefully a few other people can expand on what I've said here (or even refute anything I've said that may be wrong). Other nominees Peeps, Haden, Flinky, Rowan, The Sir Chris Hoy Legend Award: Odwin, this had a very strong showing and rightly so, without Oddy none of us would be here! The founder of Xpert 11 in NE and all round legend. Other nominees Haden, Eights Peeps The Amazing Youth Award: Winston Gardens, Winston earn this award and it is easy to see why, shooting up to the top league within 3 seasons? Almost unheard of, superb effort by this team. Other nominees Fedex, All stars Haden Empire vs Rebels Award: The rivalries that really caught the eye were Dragooooo v Elites and Bayer vs Recall, from Dragooooo and Ells on screen banter to Jimbob and Charlies famous interview it has been a great season for new rivalries. However these rivalries have been broken by promotions and relegations will new ones develop this season? Other nominees Dragoo v Submarines v Elites, Essex vs Bayer, The Iplayer Excitement Award: Inter, the second highest goal tally in the league and of course the league winners made Inter a popular choice! Great tactics saw goals in most matches, they will hope to win this award and the title next season. Other nominees Winston Gardens, Eights, Dragooooo Seahawks Midfield of the season: Silverdale Hotpot, Jerome, Hope, Wacek, Silverdale could play 3 in midfield and get a better midfield rating than some teams playing 4-5-1 a truly formidable line up. Other nominees Oddy, Eights, Peeps, Winston Inter Tipping of the hat award: Haden, thank you I tip my hat back and leave the stage! Other nominees Jimbob Peeps Winston 24 hours in a day: Afternoon Intergalactico Stars Looking Back: Winners of the Elite League and two time cup winners Inter have truly come of age, a team built with a strong backbone and raw talent they are now in the elite of all clubs. Looking Forward They will want to be the first team in modern xpert history to defend their league title, they could well do it their manager has incredible tactical knowledge and their team is notably stronger than last season. Madpool Looking Back: The best team to have never won the top title? Quite possibly. They have always seemed to be there or thereabouts and are a team that have established themselves among the best in the league. Looking Forward: Their midfield is still feared throughout the league, some new players have been brought in and they will look to take the league while planning for a youth driven future. Eights United Looking Back: Eights United are another team that went from looking insecure in the top league to now being a top tier team in it, they are without doubt a team on the rise. Looking Forward: As was just said a team on the rise, they have a magnificent youth policy and a frankly scary team in terms of talent, Season 24 may be the breakthrough for them. Battlestar Odwinica Looking Back: At one point it seemed Odwinica were on the rise and ready to dominate top league football however after just missing out in Season 22 Season 23 was a dissapointment. Looking Forward: Looking at the sqaud this is a manager with a long term vision in mind, they are always a very hard side to beat, they will be in the top 5 without a doubt, the title may come next season. Silverdale Hotpot Looking Back: Again like Odwinica this season pailed in comparison with last season although a dramatic cup win softened the blow. They have a very strong side to build on. Looking Forward: With teams like Mcoy and Happenstance missing Silverdale are within the top 5 of teams that are in a league of their own when it comes NE xpert at the moment. They will want to fight to get their name on the title again. Evening DuDs Baggies Looking Back: Baggies have been on an upward run after the return of their legendary manager, while not quite back at the top they have being enjoy a good degree of success. Looking Forward: The team has a very youth orintated set up and after surviving in the top league they will now look to become established in it. Bubbles FC Looking Back: Bubbles have had a long hard struggle to get to the top league after seeming like an eternal Middle League side and they have achieved this goal. Looking Forward: They have a growing side but one that lacks true star power they may need to bring in a couple of handy new players to retain their new status. The Comerade Co-op Looking Back: A team that quietly went about their buisness of plugging away and trying to improve themselves had their first season in the upper league last time around. Looking Forward: Because of various teams leaving they may have another go again they need more star power to succeed but the manager has a great tactical edge. Rising Phoenix Looking Back: Won their first trophy this season and look forward to returning to the top league where they have found success hard to come by. Looking Forward: They have many star players and some interesting youth prospects this will be a crucial season where they will want to prove the deserve to be in the top league. Winston Gardens FC Looking Back: A relativly new side that have become succesful quickly, they have done well to finish 2nd in the Middle League and will now be taking a huge leap up to the top league. Looking Forward: They have some talented youth and a few star players look to this team as a long term prospect for huge future success. Real Peeps Looking Back: Always seemed to have crisis after crisis in the Middle League, they may have qualified to go up this season from it even if they haven't a great season for them. Looking Forward: A well built team backed by a world class goalie, they have grown recently and the manager seems to be getting more consitent performances from his team. Morning Dragooooo Looking Back: Dragooooo faced an uphill task trying to prove themselves amongst established teams but a savvy manager and astute tactics ensured they were a force to be reckoned with and had a great first season in the middle league. Looking Forward: Would take a huge fall from grace to go back to the lowers now, expect them to close ranks, build up team work as the manager decides when the team is right for his team to go forward. Aqui1a All Stars Looking Back: Have aquitted themselves well in recent seasons and finished 5th in the middle league last season earning another season in the middle league. Looking Forward: They have a squad that is on the cusp of turning into something great but they need another season or two hard work to really develop. Seahawks FC Looking Back: A veteran of Xpert now and an almost eternal middle league side, looked in danger of going down this season but nipped bad form in the bud at just the right point. Looking Forward: Should be doing better have a very capable sqaud and will benifit from being a middle league veteran next season good be their best chance at winnin the title. Leeds M.O.T Looking Back: Leeds have been a consistent team and able to sustain a presence as a respected team in the league, their squad is starting to look thin however. Looking Forward: Sadly the manager has announced his retirement, season tickets for the team sold out straight away, could the team give their manager a trophy as a parting gift? Dawn AC Elites Looking Back: Did very well to qualify for the middle league and have made great strides to seperate themselves from other new teams, with their manager already having experience of winning leagues. Looking Forward: They are looking very strong already and will shoot straight back up to the middle league to establish themselves there for a couple of seasons, strong in all areas with a talented manager. The Sixty-Fourthers Looking Back: The nearly team that have been a presence in NE Xpert 11 for years, have finished 2nd in the top league on more than one occasion but now find themselves in the lower league. Looking Forward: There is nothing to stop this team winning leagues and games except for maybe more aggression, picking playmakers, pursuing new tactics really going for other teams. Yellow Submarine Looking Back: Like AC Elites had an adventure this time around with a great campaign last season struggled this season but that is to be expected for the first time in a new league. Looking Forward: Has a great youth set up will be vying with Elites and 64s for the title next season and will surely come straight back up to the middle league. Hadens Rangers Looking Back: Rangers missed the boat last season but used the time to unify a slightly unbalanced squad this time around. Looking Forward: Will want to survive in the middle league while also securing their long term interests, may be a tough ask but should throw up a couple of shock results along the way. Fedex United Looking Back: Seemed destined to be a team that would forever be in the lower league even with a capable manager they always seemed held back by something, that changed this season. Looking Forward: Have a side packed with talent and have quietly been picking up results, will look to distance themselves from other promoted sides and last the course. Bayer Neverlusen Looking Back: Took a similar course to Rangers missing out on promotion last season but earning it this season, their manager has stated his interest in youth development and has a long term vision when it comes to Xpert. Looking Forward: The long term vision is still in the process of occuring, they may be the most vulnerble promoted side but may turn out to be the mustard seed of Xpert starting off small to grow into a side of unlimited potential. Recall United Looking Back: A side that has been in all leagues but is most known for their time in the middle league indeed it was a shock when this season they failed to go up. Looking Forward: Have a very strong defence but a midfield that let them down badly and was exposed this sesaon if that is addressed nothing will stop them rising in the ranks again. Coloccini FC Looking Back: Always a good side to play and had a night of high drama and pride at the cup final recently when they were within secons of winning the cup. Looking Forward: They are now fully set in team balance, managerial talent and teamwork values to ascend to higher fields they should easily be a middle league side. Andys Allstars Looking Back: This team had its first season and they did themselves proud, they were able to cope with the pressures of a first season and pick up 7 wins for their fans. Looking Forward: They established themselves well last season and will now seek to take some scalps of sides that have more experience, watch out for them this year. Midnight Chartreuse Bolts F.C. Looking Back: In there first season sadly the team was left to their own devices by their manager and failed to deliver results for most of the year. Looking Forward: The manager is very talented and has toyed with the idea of coming back if he does look to this team to be a real contendor for a top 5 finish. Cubic County Looking Back: A history of hard fought battles and one or two nearly moments sums up the managers old club when the new club was made the manger lost interest and decided to leave. Looking Forward: This club provides new teams with two games to try new tactics and youths out. Emo Blades Looking Back: A club with a huge amount of history and once in the top tier of the game, the glory days seem a long way away now and the manager only showed up once or twice last time around. Looking Forward: Could easily be a title contendor next season and the whole league would love to see this manager back. bob Looking Back: New team. Looking Forward: A new team and a new season! Hopefully they will make a great impact and everyone will help them along their way. Drahkonius FC Looking Back: New team. Looking Forward: A new team and a new season! Hopefully they will make a great impact and everyone will help them along their way. Aussie FC Looking Back: New team. Looking Forward: A new team and a new season! Hopefully they will make a great impact and everyone will help them along their way. Thank you all for such a great Season 23, this season looks to be shaping up to being a cracker with several teams vying for titles in every league. Have a great season guys! Will start it as soon as Jimbob has got back to me about his friend joining, he will replace Cube if that happens. I will do lottery at a later point will inform everyone in a separate post who is eligible. 14. Am typing up the new thread but will wait on making the new season until I hear back from Jimbob.
  15. Waiting on @Jimbob he has a friend who he said might join?
  16. Yeh that season was so good! I think Peeps has Upper League covered, I was hoping to do Middle best as I can Jimbob did you want to do Lower? Would mean we will have all leagues covered first time for ages.
  17. Charlie has nominated Ell for every single category how generous
  18. What a final! Watched live I thought it was going to be a fairytale for Milagi from the dissalowed goal to the fact that they were just about to win because of more chances until Calderwood scored in injury time! Super final! Congrats to Milagi for getting to the final. Well done to Rowan for your first cup win!
  19. Super I have a list of all the people I could find that have forum accounts to put in tomorrow Dragooooo 2-4 Silverdale Hotpot Dragooooo having dispatched Inter went into this match looking to make another giant killing and went with an aggressive 3-5-2 set up. When pundits saw Silverdale had responded with the same formation they knew they had a old fashioned cup game on their hand that would be full of drama. Barculo put the home side ahead as he crafted some space and hit a long range shot, the goalie with vision blocked saw it to late and Dragooooo took the lead. However veteran Hope brought Silverdale back into the game, he held the ball just outside the box, defenders seemed hesitant to commit and he picked out the perfect pass for Orellana to smash home from 8 yards. The 2nd half carried on as chances fell to both sides however it the Dragooooo manager decided to freshen his team up with some youth subs. This looked to be a mistake as Calderwood made the breakthrough for Silverdale with a scrambled shot in after a corner. However in the 75th minute 19 year old Forsyth scored a diving header to make his mark in a Dragooooo shirt, he ran over to the home fans who sang his name. However Hotpots own youth Orellana was soon there to ruin the party, a lovely headed goal a few minutes later followed by him setting up Scrimshaw to score a close range shot meant Orellana and Silverdale left with the glory. A battling performance by Dragoooooo they went toe to toe with one of the best clubs in the league and nearly came out on top. Silverdale are now odds on favourites to take the cup. Coloccini FC 1-0 Rising Phoenix Coloccini after having a bye beat the Co-op in a close game in the 2nd round and their fans were concerned when they saw Rising Phoenix come out the hat. Rising Phoenix seemed up for this match playing a 3-5-2 formation hoping to dominate the lower league side, Coloccini stuck to a previous formation using 5-3-2 to secure the back and counter attack. 20 year old forward Mustoe who had a reasonable league season shocked his manager when he curled in a beauty of a long range shot that saw him do a new trademark cartwheel celebration. And from there Rising Phoenix simply did not respond, their formation began to look static as Coloccini defenders would rush to help midfielders and in return the midfielders would come back when Rising Phoenix mounted an attack. In the end Coloccini had 4 chances to only 2 for Rising Phoenix. It was a very flat Rising Phoenix performance and they will be very disappointed not to be in the final. Coloccini have earned their way there and now look forward to a cup final where they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Awards are just about wrapped up but a couple of categories are very close! The rivals one is lol worthy and I am looking forward to revealing that, if you want to have your say before the new thread tommorow PM me your responses to this list: The Hugh Laurie Charm Offensive Award: The Sir Chris Hoy Legend Award: The Amazing Youth Award!: Empire vs Rebels Award: The Iplayer Excitement Award: Midfield of the season: Tipping of the hat award: Fear Factor: Thanks again for your continued enthusiasm guys I have really enjoyed this season. 23. Ok Rowan and MilaGi to decide whose home in the final a riddle to solve. The first person to PM or post the answer wins! We are Nintendo heroes, we cannot jump, we need to be lead but meet us in numbers and you will end up dead!
  24. Well battled, Silverdale were just to strong by the looks of it, some of your players had the games of their lives! I watched the game "live" and thought you might get back in it at 2-2! So Coloccini (who took out RP 1-0) vs Silverdale Hotpot is the final. I can decide home team or Jimbob can. Well done guys should be an interesting final!
  25. Stellar posts Flinky and Peeps thank you I think I will put Peeps post in the new thread when it goes up. Wonderful stuff. Cup Reports Rising Phoenix 2-0 Bubbles FC Rising Phoenix have a lot of momentum on their side at the moment and set up with a balanced 4-4-2 formation, Bubbles looked to stifle the midfield with a 4-5-1 formation. Rising Phoenix dictated the pace of the match but Bubbles were happy with the first half as both sides only had 1 chance each and the half ended goalless. Bubbles players got tired and Rising Phoenix began to put the pressure on, Sheen powered home a free kick to break the deadlock on 66 minutes. Bubbles tried to battle back but Eklind put the game beyond doubt when he volleyed home a cross from Crossley with mere minutes to go. Bubbles always seemed to be only able to contain Rising Phoenix, in the end Phoenix wore them out and will advance to the semi finals. Dragooooo 3-1 Intergalatigo Stars The last time this fixture was player Inter won 6-0 Dragooooo wanted to make amends and show how far they have come since then. They went out to boss the midfield with a 4-5-1 formation while Inter hoped their superiority would shine through with a 4-4-2 formation. Feskens shocked the home crowd with an early goal after 14 minutes but Papadopoulos put Inter back on equal terms 20 minutes later. It was a quiet affair in the first half but Dragooooo had the better of it, Feskens was the hero just after the half resumed as he powered home a header to make it 2-1 to Dragooooo. Subs from both sides came on but Dragooooo were now firmly in control of the match with chance after chance, Guevara headed a goal in on the 76th minute and went over to hug his manager who told his team to keep calm. But no-one was calm at the final whistle Dragooooo had knocked out the two time champions and given themselves a huge chance at reaching the final, Inter will be disappointed but will now concentrate on what they need to do to retain their league title. Silverdale Hotpot 4-3 The Sixty Fourthers A game between two teams that had poor seasons this year, Silverdale failed to mount a title challenge and 64s were dumped into the lower league. However all of that was forgotten today as they produced the best game of the cup so far. Silverdale went for their usual 4-4-2 line up while the 64s changed things up opting for a creative 3-5-2 line up. Silverdale struck first as Hope whipped in a cross for Luz to power home with a header. 14 minutes later the 64s equalised as Kurdhi provided Nashrin with an inch perfect lob to tap in. Things settled down but Silverdale lost their striker Calderwood before half time, he was subbed for Hudson after pulling up during a run. Out of nothing in the first few minutes of the 2nd half Jerome saw the goalie sleeping and lobbed on in the top corner to put Silverdale ahead. The match was on a knife edge and the 64s struck back as Redfearn bundled the ball in from a corner 10 minutes later. Silverdale stuck to their guns and the sub Hudson and then Hope scored headers to make it 4-2. But the home fans had a nervous last few minutes as Kurdi scored a header with 10 minutes to go. The team through was expected but the game itself wasn't, a superb game both teams should be proud, Silverdale are now odds on favourites to win the cup. Coloccini FC 2-1 The Comerade Co-Op An exciting game for both these teams as pundits couldn't pick between them before the start of the match. Coloccini lined up with an unusual 5-3-2 formation while Co-op went for a very aggressive 3-4-3 set up. However Co-op got off to a bad start as veteran midfielder Arseniev limped off with an old injury. Co-op still dominated possession but it was Coloccini who had the first chance after a stonewall penalty was given to them. Haslop stepped up and powered it straight down the middle to give the home side the lead. However a mere 2 minutes later Co-op striker Uzlov slotted one coolly into the corner after finding himself in space. Both teams came rushing out the blocks to an all action 2nd half but it was Coloccini who grasped their chance, Datsun with a well guided header that clipped the post and rolled in. Both teams brought on subs but Co-Op couldn't find a way through even though they had more possesion. In the end a very interesting match and Coloccini deserved the win, Co-Op will want to aim for the semis next year.
