  1. well i've got my fingers crossed for getting a component cable at lauch, it's either that or make my own, either way i'm not even setting up my wii till i can get 480p
  2. yeah i tried just about every combination of settings possible at the time, the game i was using was rogue leader. i've traded my cube in now for a credit note towards wii anyways, so i can't try setting it up again till dec 8th, but thanks for the advice :-)
  3. yeah that's exactly what i done and no luck, the manual had pretty much no information on the aux mode either. a proper pro-logic ii amp seems the way to go, if i can get zelda in 5.1 i don't care what the cost is, lol.
  4. a friend who works at gamestation told me that they will have a pod in his store, but only for a few days, nintendo are sending a rep to guard the remote
  5. nah, the dvd player itself had 5 speaker outputs, so i guess it had a built in amp. it seems silly that it could decode pro-logic ii from dvd's but not from it's own inputs, but nevermind. 5.1 didn't bother me too much with cube, so i pretty much gave up right away when it didn't work. but wii games seem more immersive, so i'd like to get the best playing experience in 12 DAYS TIME! :D
  6. great find nintendork! looks like just what i need
  7. okay, so wii supports 5.1 surround using pro logic ii, just like gamecube did. trouble is i never maged to figured out exactly what's needed to get pro logic ii working with gamecube. my parents did have a pretty expensive dvd player with 5.1, which had a dolby digital and a pro logic ii logo on the front, but for some reason just sending the gamecube's sound through my dvd player only output in stereo does anyone know exactly what i'm gonna need to get 5.1 surround on wii?
  8. that's right, if you have quicktime pro you just open a movie and export it to motion jpeg
  9. the chichester store, not a big one
  10. i've also preordered with HMV, who have just called to confirm i will get one for launch. my local store is only getting 7, i'm number 2 in the queue.
