Nice to see it direct feed. I love how they've animated Wario in this, quick, snappy movements with almost no in-between motion, gives him a really old school cartoon vibe.

I'd really struggle to narrow it down to just five games, so I'm not even going to attempt that. But like DCK I'll be keeping all of mine anyway.

That NES style Wii actually looks alright, I still wouldn't bother with a skin though as I like the look of Wii as it is. Only console I ever did this to was my N64 (I made a Zelda skin for it) and that came off pretty soon after putting it on.

Yeah I noticed that the other day in GAME, it must be a mistake though. I reckon it's supposed to say EDTV/HDTV compatible, not only.

I've only seen the Wii remote adverts on TV so far but I watched the Zelda ones on Wii.com. The one with the horse riding made me laugh though, why the fuck is the bloke in that ad bouncing up and down on his sofa? I'm like, err... you're not really riding a horse mate! This over acting of motion is becoming a bit of a bad habit in Wii ads I think, the Call of Duty trailer was the same, when the guy shakes the Wii remote like he's using a real machine gun!

I read somewhere that it's only on when there's no disc inside, so you can see the slot in low light conditions. Anyway, it's cool that it has a practical function and looks awesome at the same time.

I was slightly annoyed by that at first, but after thinking about it I now reckon it's much better without one, anything that reduces the time it takes to start playing a game / pissing about with the channels has to be a good thing. And from what I can gather from various vids that are now appearing online, initial load times on Wii are quite a bit longer than those on the GCN, so not having a system intro helps speed up the process. Admittedly it's only by a few seconds but hey, every second counts! Those look like rubber feet, for if you position your Wii horizontally.

I wonder if we'll still have to wait for the games to load. And what do you reckon the chances are of The Great Giana Sisters appearing on the VC?

Great news! Now I won’t have to listen to ear bleeding heavy metal. I think I’ll go for some 80’s TV theme tunes, a bit of Knight Rider, A-Team and Fall Guy will be good for this game. :wink:

The new trailer is incredible, I've watched it so many times! I'm surprised so many people are choosing not to watch it though. I mean unless you've not seen / read anything about this game since it was very first announced it has no spoilers at all, it's just a remake of one of the E3 trailers. I'm guessing the TV commercial will be very similar to this, it's not designed to spoil the game, just give you an idea of what it's like. The scenes in the video are all like a split second in length and presented completely out of context so there’s no way it can reveal the story. One thing I'm definitely not going to watch though is the gameplay vids that places like IGN will inevitably put up, the kind that show an entire play through of dungeons with puzzle solving and full cut-scenes, now those are spoilers.

Whatever happened to this game, is it still part of Wii Sports? (Perhaps an un-lockable game ) Or maybe it is becoming Pilotwings after all. I just hope it comes out one way or another as it looked fantastic.

Absolutely, or at least RGB scart. But seeing as they're both the same price (according to Gameplay) you should go for Component. And trying to get a decent widescreen CRT these days is almost impossible too, although I did manage to find one recently, a 28" JVC from Tescos. Very good TV with nice picture and sound quality and almost no geometry issues, apart from a little in the top left hand corner. I was considering getting it for while, but it's too big / heavy for my room really so I'm going to get a 26" LCD instead. Anyway, the screen size on a 26" LCD will be around the same as a 28" CRT though, just minus all of the extra weight / depth. :awesome:

Judging by the fact that Nintendo seem to demo Wii on nothing but HD LCD Screens (see my earlier post in this thread) I'd say not much of a problem at all. I get the impression that the majority of these "LCD horror stories" come form people that have really nice TV's and then connect stuff via composite expecting it to look good. Component and progressive scan will make the world of difference.

But surely a "turbo charged cube" is in between the cube and the ps3.

No idea how many they'll get, but I very much doubt any GAME stores will get none at all. I reckon there will be more than enough systems to meet the initial demand anyway.
