  1. Google Chrome

I think Chrome might take the world by a storm - and eat into Firefox as well as IE's share of the Browser market. Google has the right vision and in my short experience with it, it's fast and simple. Clean and not to cluttered (like Firefox is without changing it's look - and any browser for that matter) without sacrificing usefullness (like IE7 did, it became harder to use because of features becoming small, and irrelevant buttons (like stop loading)). Looks good and I wonder if Google willpush Chrome enough to be the next big web browser.
  2. itunes woes please help me!

It could have to do with your network settings, or, if you're living in China, the Great Firewall. However, Apple has documented a problem in Windows with several files that don't work anymore and therefore iTunes can't connect. Sorry dude, sometimes things just don't work out. Or maybe, on september 9th, iTunes 8.0 might solve your issues. Although, well, I wouldn't bet on it.
  3. itunes woes please help me!

How long was this an issue? Is it a week or just this morning? iTune Stores can be down sometimes - and then you get this error (we all remember (vividly) the horrible July 11th date - almost the same as two months later). Well that's a bit of an exaguration from my side, but heck.
  4. itunes woes please help me!

When you try to login to the store or just after starting up iTunes?
  5. Is a used copy of XP recommended?

It means it's a copy that a manufacturer (Dell, HP, ..) receives from Microsoft to install the OS on their hardware. It's generally cheaper, because it doesn't cost as much as the full OS. See OEM in computers.
  6. MP3 Player? iPod? Or Something Else?

I use playlists, but not smart playlists - they're too much of an effort to keep start rattings up to date for me. You can do that on the iPod Touch in the interface, but still. The major reason to pick an iPod is really the interface. Not just the iPod interface, but the iTunes interface for synchronising to iPods, control of your library, album covers - it's a really great interface. (Although I do believe that Apple should have made it look like a Windows application, but build by Apple - so it would be quicker to load and more fitting within the entire windows theme).
  7. MP3 Player? iPod? Or Something Else?

iPods are popular because consumers are happy with the device. It's look plays a big part in it - but don't forget that the click wheel from the iPod doesn't just look good, it works great too. Consumers are happy, that's why iPods are popular. I have heard little complaints about these devices. By the way, Zunes aren't supported outside of the US and Canada and I would advice you to get a Creative Zen - because just like the iPod, you're paying a premium price for the device if you buy a Zune (they have equal prices to the iPods, and Zens are much cheaper in that respect).
  8. MP3 Player? iPod? Or Something Else?

It's not that big at all, it fits nicely in your pocket - you don't have to be carefull with that thing - and the iPod Touch can't be controlled inside your pocket, but honestly: you'll get the hang of changing songs in no time getting the thing out of your pocket - double tapping home gives you controls, so it's not a huge deal, just a change of the way you use it. But it's not an advantage, yes - but all your other arguments are simple ranting. Also, an iPod Touch is not an MP3 Player, it's a smart device - a smart phone without the phone part - wich can keep track of contacts, calendaring and other applications you install. It's more of a computer. I didn't know it was the other way around on interface, so okay - Zen's were ripped by the iPod. But still both interfaces work (though the iPods seem to have gotten around the problem off synching to the device smoothly).
  9. MP3 Player? iPod? Or Something Else?

Most PM3 players will do, but there is a reason why iPods are so hugely popular. iPods are pretty good devices with a good intuitive interface, an easy applications to get your music on (you do that with explorer for other devices, and explorer can't really manage music like that). And off course, they're also pretty slick devices. If you would go with something besides Apple, Zens from Creative are popular devices that manage to keep the 'low-profile' iPod. Zens are the cheaper chineze counterpart of the iPods, and their interface works (it's not great, my brother has one and it's got flaws, it stole ninety percent from Apple - but it's good and usefull enough). The only problem is the strange media browser that Creative uses, wich I find a mysterious Application that doesn't do much special. But, not as an Apple user, I would advice you to go with the iPod. It's nice not to go with the flow when you get the chance, but if you have to put down money I would go with that flow - because I hear a lot of good comments from friends and read a lot of them online (had some good experiences, too) - and they are good MP3-players.
  10. Need a decent P2P program.

I'm sorry, dude. Anyways, Limewire (and Cabos for that matter) are nice applications to search for a single song or something. I don't find any torrent applications really usefull for finding specific files. Most of the files there are large, and so I use Torrentz for bigger file transfers, while keeping Limewire and Cabos for the smaller, easier files. Good to know you enjoy Cabos.
  11. Need a decent P2P program.

You could go for Cabos, wich is a spyware free version of Limewire (it also searches bearshare and so on). It's a good thing. it looks ugly, but it does the job.
  12. Banjo Kazooie (XBLA)

I don't know if that was part of the deal, but thinking of it: nobody was ever hearing about Nintendo or TH complaining when Conker's Bad Fur Day was remade... You could be right on this one, but Nintendo made a sad mistake there... They are Nintendo's history up untill GameCube!
  13. Wii Sports Resort

Nintendo never stated that the Wii Remote would have an accurate 1:1 control, they stated it was about movement and they also said their games were about the motion, not the precision of it (have a gander at Wii Sports) By people you mean Nintendo fanboys? I don't think that three quarters of Nintendo's demographic wants Zelda, but only that handfull of gamers. Zelda or Mario are not as important. They're not the message they want to bring, and they would disrupt the flow of Nintendo's casual press-conference. Be sure that an expo like E For All could reveal Zelda - but Zelda is no more a huge announcement like it once was, because right now, very few Wii owners care. They told you the Mario and Zelda teams are working on projects, and later they mentioned the 1:1. Nintendo didn't intend for you to 'bring it together' - although, off course, Nintendo's own products will certainly support it. Nintendo meant for people like you to stop asking about Zelda and Mario, because they're working on it and it distracts the attention of the casual gamer into the confusing lands of hardcore gaming. Now they truly market it as 1:1, so it should be working. This last line, though, is entirely true. To The Point: Wii Sports Resort looks nice. It's Wii Sports with more enviroments that do not resemble the early incarnation of blue and green, but that seem happy, casual, and perfectly aligned with Nintendo's intentions to introduce peripherals with games that use them. I'de love to know how this one turns out, and maybe - if we're lucky - Nintendo might give us WiFi Connection on this one...
  14. Banjo Kazooie (XBLA)

Huh? The failure of Stop 'n Swop is unknown. Let's just let it rest and see what it does for the 360... Let's see how Rare intended this to be!
  15. New Xbox 360 Dashboard

Looks good (no need for themes there, it's just a quick, fancy and easy interface). I find those avatars a strange combination of Mii's and Sony's Home services. It looks like Microsoft ran off with the ideas of other people again, and maybe they shouldn't. The crowd was laughing when Microsoft announced it, since everyone knew where this one came from. It looks neat though, and much less intimidating than the last interface. Now if they just would have announced a redesigned 360, since that thing looks like clungy plastic pasted together by a three-year old. My opinion.
  16. Banjo Kazooie (XBLA)

They keep the rights to the franchise, yes. They developed the characters, the enviroment... But it doesn't apply to older games, it only counts for new ones, like nuts 'n bolts. They can use Banjo-Kazooie there, but they can't release an old game, funded by an old partner, without the partners agreement. A new game, yes, and old game, no. Again, Nintendo probably got something really good in return.
  17. Banjo Kazooie (XBLA)

no,tHQ published games for Rare when Nintendo hadn't or didn't publish them (Hemce all GBA games by Rare andcpnkers Bad Fur Day.)
  18. Banjo Kazooie (XBLA)

Here's my rough take: Nintendo gets Goldeneye on VC, Microsoft gets to publish Banjo-Kazooie to make more hype for their upcoming Banjo-Kazooie game. And all the original logos seem to be kept, like the Game Boy in the screen selection and the Nintendo logo's that were originally in the game. Very important to notice: Rare owns the rights to all characters and ideas in the game, but the game was developed and published together with Nintendo, wich gives Nintendo right to some degree abou this game. Nintendo has probably allowed it, and maybe we'll see what they got in return tomorrow morning.
  19. Google images looks funny

Did anybody notice this? Honestly, this is not something you should use screenshots for...
  20. Ha ha ah ah ha ha! I'm CRAZY?!?!!

This is funny, actually. If you know what you click, not saying 'yes' to things you don't know, force-quitting if a site keeps you in an alert-box loop - you're safe. As long as you only go to websites you can trust (don't go to n-europe.com, for example, I'm pretty sure they infected me), you'll be safe. Or get a mac, although I think our time of having no virusses is almost over, too - Apple is preparing Snow Leopard to close the possible holes and security problems, so they can start a mass-market (wich, to Apple, is +2%) adoption of the mac.
  21. New keyboard + mouse

Just to have something to check by - The Apple Mouse, where would it fall within the categories of mice? is it up to date? Is it a good mouse? (except it lacks a button or two that they've crammed onto recent mice, but I find them so anoying I'm glad they're not there).
  22. New keyboard + mouse

I know, typically me, but take this question seriously: Are mice from five years ago so different in features (except adding fourty buttons) than those recently released? I mean, are mice really so big of a deal or am I so little knowing..?
  23. Adobe Premiere Rendering Issues

Is it correct in the preview that Premiere shows you or are they off-key there? (Stupid question if it's the second answer, but it's possible you don't use the preview pane)
  24. Skype a mac and a bluetooth headset

Check the processes, see if something is wrong there. Have you tried turning of the handset and on? Have you tried turning of bluetooth and back oN? I would check the processes, see if there's any trail of skype left there. Your problem isn't really something many people can test to see if it's universal, but if it requires a restart methinks you're pushing the wrong buttons. The last offer would be deleting the handset device from the bluetooth settings and reconnecting it. if the issue keeps bothering, check with somebody else's handset if the same problem occurs. If it does, submit it to Apple and Skype, so they can work out the kinks.
  25. Origami Project

Honestly, Origami is one of those projects at Microsoft that never really got the market it wanted, mainly because Microsoft simply sucks at marketing at consumers and wants only business to buy in. Origami was a better name than UMPC, wich is a category that hasn't got lots of talk lately. Don't buy these things just yet, wait for smartphones to evolve in the coming two years (and, how much you hate yo hear it: Apple sparked this innovation to make smartphones actually smart) and there will not even be the need for something like this anymore. Don't let Microsoft make or design your hardware. Let the software company stay software, not? It's what they do, well... best?
