CoolFunkMan Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 http://motorola-blog.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/goodbye-sticky-hello-ara.html So Motorola have come up with a concept of open hardware for phones (very similar to phonebloks: https://phonebloks.com/). In other words, upgradeable/replaceable parts and components for phones, rather than having to buy an entirely new phone (like an upgradeable camera, processor, etc.) Here's some early designs: Personally, I think it's a brilliant idea. It'd not only save on tons of phones/devices been chucked, it'd be perfect for users not bothered about certain features. Plus it'd open a new area in the market, allowing multiple companies to develop their own devices. That said, trying to sell this idea to the average consumer may be difficult, since the concept of upgrading components might get confusing. What do you folks reckon?
