chairdriver
Perhaps, having only seen 2 of his movies I don't have the greatest authority to start this thread, but I just saw Bad Education, and I really don't know what I thought of it. It seems he's highly revered as a director -- what are your opinions? All About My Mother seemed like a "non-film" to me. Like, it didn't grab me at all. Not being able to speak Spanish, everything that would be vaguely stunning is less so with things lost in translation, so it felt like an irrelevent and uncompelling story. Normally I'm very open-minded and receptive of critically acclaimed stuff, but these two films have left me slightly drier than I'd want to be. Even with the sexy scenes in Bad Education. Thoooooooooougggghts?
Paj!
You're bad. All About My Mother reminded me of great things. And Women on the Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown is funny too. I also really liked Broken Embraces (the one from last year). I've seen Volver too but only once ages ago, and need to reassess.
