david.dakota Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 hi guys It seems some people have adopted broadband providers who run ADSL2+ over their LLU networks, reaching some pretty impressive speeds. One operator has recently upgraded our local exchange to LLU and included ADSL2+, enabling some superb speeds. However, we live some distance - 2miles- from the exchange and while we get "up to 8mps", we max out at 1.5 - pretty abysmal. I'm pretty familiar with broadband, and understand why we're in the Information Super Hard Shoulder, but i'm struggling to find out if ADSL2+ would make any improvement (however small). Does ADSL2+ fail with shorter distances? I've tried questioning the provider, TalkTalk, but I'm. Being told that for their speed boost is only available if you can get 8mps on standard broadband- and unleashed your camping inside rhe exchange thats pretty unlikely. Does anyone have any experience of getting ADSL2+ at longer distances?
